Joe Jonas explains why that Teddy Swims Coachella duet was a full-circle moment

At Teddy Swims’ Coachella show Friday, he brought back a guest from his April 10 appearance: ex-Van Halen singer David Lee Roth. But that April 10 show — which also featured Joe Jonas and Vanessa Carlton — was truly a full-circle moment for Teddy, says Joe.

On April 10, Joe and Teddy teamed up to perform the Jonas Brothers song “When You Look Me in the Eyes.” Speaking to ABC News, Joe explained that he first met Teddy a few years ago when he saw him perform in London and was “completely floored.”

“I thought it was one of the best live performances I’ve seen,” Joe added.

Backstage, Joe said Teddy “told me this amazing story: that he loved the song ‘[When You] Look Me in the Eyes’ in high school and him and his high school girlfriend went to … me and the Brothers’ concert back in the day, and he skipped football practice. And his coach found out and made him run a bunch of drills.”

So when Joe realized that he and Teddy would both be at Coachella this year, he offered his services.

“I was like, ‘Hey man, let me know if you need a background singer,’ which turned into hopping up on stage and surprising the crowd,” Joe told ABC News. “So it was overdue. I’ve been to Coachella seven, eight times I’ve never performed so I was thrilled to do it with Teddy.”

But if you want to see Joe sing the song with his brothers, they’ve got some some dates coming up in May and August, with more to come. “We have tour dates that we’ve yet to announce,” he revealed, while teasing “a lot of new music.”

Kehlani says ‘Folded’ ‘completely rerouted’ her life, shares goals for upcoming self-titled album

Nearly a decade after her debut album was released, Kehlani scored the biggest hit of her career with “Folded.” As Billboard‘s Women in Music Impact honoree for 2026, she says the song has “completely rerouted” her life.

“When you’ve experienced a lot of resistance … like, ‘Wow, nothing is working out… No matter which direction I turn, everything feels like pulling teeth. … Getting people to call me back is impossible,” she tells Billboard, noting that things have shifted following the success of “Folded.”

“I’m having these conversations and I’m like, ‘Wait, really? That’s it? You’re down?’ I’m in a period of the least resistance. And it’s a really nice place to be.”

Kehlani believes her current circumstances prepared her for this moment.

“People keep asking me what I think the magic sauce is in ‘Folded,’ and beyond it being a great R&B song, I have a deeper, longer theory that it’s just about where I’m at in my life,” she says. “I don’t think that there was another time that I could have handled the success that I’m currently receiving. … I’m ready now.”

She continues, “Something happens when you turn 30 — everything’s making sense. My motherhood is going incredibly well. My family life, my friends, my whole internal world is finally clicking.”

Kehlani is set to release her self-titled album on April 24, her 31st birthday, and she has high ambitions for the project.

“I want to do this album at Carnegie Hall with an orchestra. I really want some of these songs to make it into movies … and ultimately just have a really historical personal moment for me, and hopefully keep adding to the genre because that’s the coolest thing that ‘Folded’ has done beyond anything,” she says.

Kehlani will be honored at the Billboard Women in Music event on April 29.

Lou Gramm’s having a great time with new Foreigner lineup: ‘they’re happy to have me’

Original Foreigner frontman Lou Gramm is currently joining the new Foreigner lineup on a series of shows in Florida, and he tells ABC Audio he’s been enjoying getting to play with the new members of the band.

“It’s been great because they’re great guys,” he says. “They accepted me into the band and they’re happy to have me and they all treat me very good.”

Gramm calls the current Foreigner lineup “exceptional musicians,” noting “they follow the arrangements pretty closely to the originals.”

“And the response from the audience is very good,” he adds. “I think the audience has missed Foreigner being in their lives.”

Besides Gramm’s occasional appearances with the band, there are currently no original members in Foreigner. Back in February, Gramm’s bandmate Al Greenwood told New York Magazine he hopes Foreigner “goes on forever,” noting, “I wouldn’t like to not be able to see that music being played.”

Gramm agrees with that sentiment.

“It’s exactly my feeling. I think the music is too good to fade away,” he says, noting that it feels great that fans still want to hear Foreigner tunes. He adds, “it feels timeless.”

Gramm’s next show with Foreigner is happening Tuesday in Orlando, Florida.

In addition to the Foreigner shows, Gramm is set to head out on his own tour in support of his recently released solo album, Released. The tour kicks off May 28 in Stamford, Connecticut. A complete list of dates can be found at LouGrammOfficial.com.

‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ wins another weekend atop the box office

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is still winning at the box office.

The animated movie, the sequel to 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie, topped the box office for a third straight week, taking in an additional $35 million, according to Box Office Mojo. It’s already the year’s highest grossing film in the U.S., with a total gross of over $355 million.

Project Hail Mary hung on to the #2 spot for the second week, taking in $20.5 million. A new release this week, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, came in at #3 with $13.5 million.

The Drama and You, Me & Tuscany rounded out the top 5 with $4.8 million and $3.8 million, respectively.

Justin Bieber welcomes Billie Eilish, SZA, Big Sean and more to Coachella set

Justin Bieber switched things up for his second Coachella appearance Saturday night, bringing out different guests and performing different classic cuts — but the “singing along with old YouTube videos” segment remained.

The biggest guest star was Bieber superfan Billie Eilish, who Justin brought onstage so he could serenade her with “One Less Lonely Girl.” The two first met at Coachella back in 2019 and later teamed up on a remix of “bad guy.”

SZA also appeared for her “Snooze” remix with Justin, while Big Sean came out to perform “As Long as You Love Me” and “No Pressure.” Sexyy Red popped up for “Sweet Spot,” while Dijon was on hand for “Devotion.”

During the YouTube portion of the show, Justin pulled up videos of “One Time,” “U Smile,” “Up” and “Baby,” and his cover of Justin Timberlake”s “Cry Me a River” and sang along to them. “I remember this like it was yesterday,” he said of the Timberlake cover. “The guitar was out of tune.”

“I just was a kid who liked to sing, that was it,” Justin told the crowd, reminiscing about his YouTube cover songs, which is what led to him being discovered.

“Man, it’s been a wild journey. It’s been an emotional journey,” he added.

Justin’s Coachella performances haven’t just been good for his streaming numbers, either. Vogue Business reports that his Skylrk brand sold over $5 million worth of merch during the first Coachella weekend alone. That beat the previous merch record of $1.7 million over two weekends.

Meanwhile, there may be an indication that Justin is planning to take the show on the road. His website has been updated to read, “Click RSVP below to be notified when new tour dates are announced.”

Olivia Rodrigo joins Addison Rae onstage at Coachella for ‘drop dead’ debut

The audience during Addison Rae’s Coachella set Saturday night was so surprised they could’ve dropped dead: Olivia Rodrigo popped up to give the live debut of her new single.

Olivia showed up while Addison was performing “Headphones On”: Right after she sang the line, “I compare my life to the new ‘it girl,'” Olivia appeared on top of the stairs on the stage set, wearing a pink bikini top and jeans. She smiled, waved and blew kisses as the crowd went wild.

She came down the stairs in time to join Addison for the line, “You just have to surrender to the moment,” and continued singing through the rest of the song.

“Coachella, how much do we love Miss Addison?” Liv asked after the song ended. “Oh my God, I might just drop dead,” Addison replied, before they launched into a duet version of Olivia’s new song “drop dead.”

It was Olivia’s second appearance at Coachella: In 2024, she joined No Doubt during their reunion performance to sing “Bathwater” with Gwen Stefani. She has yet to play the festival on her own, but since she’s likely to tour behind her upcoming album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, it may happen in 2027.

Severe weather threat, flooding continue as life-threatening storms pass through the East

(NEW YORK) — The severe weather threat is expected to ramp down this weekend after one more day of possible severe storms.

There is a slight risk for severe storms in Ohio, West Virginia, western Pennsylvania and western New York. This includes Buffalo, New York; Cleveland; Pittsburgh; and Charleston, West Virginia.

Damaging winds and some large hail will be the main threat, but a tornado and some isolated flash flooding cannot be ruled out.

Remnant showers and storms moved along a cold front sweeping the Ohio Valley Saturday morning before rejuvenating later in the afternoon.

The level of severity of these storms will be determined by how the atmosphere recovers after preceding rain moving through Saturday morning, but enough energy could build up by late Saturday afternoon for some severe storms to develop over the area. Otherwise, it may just end up being added rain with possibly some rumbles of thunder.

This cold front will continue to push east into the Northeast on Sunday, bringing rain, and some high elevation snow, to the region before pushing off the coast.

Ahead of this cold front, the Southeast has had another day or record heat while the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic begin to cool down.

Saturday could see one more day of record highs across much of the South from Louisiana to Florida to Georgia.

The National Weather Service confirmed at least 35 tornadoes across 10 states this week, stretching from California to Vermont.

Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois have been hit the hardest by multiple outbreaks of severe weather over the week.

Friday was no exception to this active week of severe weather, with more than 300 reports of severe weather from Oklahoma up to Minnesota and east to Indiana.

Wind gusts over 75 mph were also reported in Missouri, Iowa and Illinois. Hail larger than baseballs were reported in Illinois and Oklahoma. Oklahoma, Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin reported hail greater than golf balls.

In addition, flooding continues to linger for parts of Wisconsin and Michigan from days of rain and, in some areas, on top of a deep snowpack that’s accelerated snowmelt. Fortunately, they have drier weather in the forecast for this weekend into next week.

Pope Leo says ‘not my interest at all’ to debate Trump

(NEW YORK) — Pope Leo addressed President Donald Trump on Saturday while aboard the papal plane on his trip to Angola.

The pope said recent remarks that appeared to address the U.S. president were prepared two weeks ago, before Trump had commented on him.

“Yet as it happens, it was looked at as if I was trying to debate, again, the president, which is not my interest at all,” he said.

Short n’ Sweet ‘Confessions’: Madonna joins Sabrina Carpenter at Coachella

The rumors were true: Madonna was Sabrina Carpenter’s surprise guest Friday night at Coachella.

The Queen of Pop appeared during “Juno,” and teamed with Sabrina for duets of “Vogue” and “Like a Prayer.” The two also performed a new song, possibly called “Bring Your Love,” which is likely from Madonna’s upcoming album Confessions II, a sequel to her 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor.

Madonna also noted the significance of the moment, since it marked her return to Coachella after two decades. “20 years ago today I performed at Coachella — I was in the dance tent and it was the first time I performed Confessions on a Dance Floor in America. And that was such a thrill for me, so you can image what a thrill [this] is for me. … Same boots, with the same corset … so it’s like a full circle moment, y’know?”

Madonna joked, “The other thrilling thing I want to point out is that this is probably the only time I’ve ever performed with someone that’s shorter than me!”

A few hours after the performance, Madonna released the first song from Confessions II, “I Feel So Free.” The album’s out July 3.

Geena Davis, Madonna’s co-star in A League of Their Own, also appeared during the set in a pre-filmed segment, doing a monologue as an older version of Sabrina. Geena’s Thelma & Louise co-star Susan Sarandon had done the same thing during Sabrina’s first Coachella performance on April 10.

Florence + the Machine relocates Philly show due to NHL playoffs

Florence + the Machine’s upcoming Everybody Scream Tour stop in Philadelphia is being relocated due to the NHL playoffs.

According to a post on social media, the show, originally scheduled for April 25 at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philly, has been moved to the Jim Wheland Boardwalk Hall Arena in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The post notes that refunds for the original venue will be automatically processed, with ticketholders having to repurchase tickets for the new venue. Prior ticketholders will have a 24-hour window to purchase tickets to the new show, before they go on sale to the general public.

“We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause,” the post notes. “Unfortunately this decision is beyond our control and after exploring many alternative scenarios, this became the only workable solution that would allow us not to cancel the show.”

“Thank you so much for your patience and understanding,” the post concludes.

This isn’t the first Florence + the Machine show affected by the NHL playoffs. Their Boston show that was originally scheduled for April 19 was moved to April 20 because of the playoff schedule.
