The Eagles have announced a new set of dates for their residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers have added four new shows to their schedule: Feb. 20, 21, 27 and 28.

With the new dates, the Eagles’ residency totals 52 concerts, which now makes them the artists with the longest residency at the Sphere; it launched Sept. 20, 2024. Dead & Company previously held that honor, with 48 shows.

The Sphere opened in 2023 with U2’s U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere, which consisted of 40 dates.

Registration is now open for an artist presale that begins Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. PT. Tickets go on sale to the general public Oct. 24 at 10 a.m. PT.

The Eagles’ next residency show is scheduled for Oct. 31. A complete list of dates can be found at eagles.com.

Questlove received the 2025 Peabody Trailblazer Award Friday for his cultural impact, and ability to effect social change through his music and films. Quinta Brunson presented him with the award, which he accepted with a speech encouraging people to fight against feelings of doubt and to be creative. “Now is the time more than ever … because it’s cathartic, it’s therapeutic, but it’s necessary,” he said, as per Billboard. “And right now, joy is an act of rebellion, so I thank you for celebrating me with this honor.”

Chance the Rapper teamed with the Chicago Transit Authority for a custom Star Line train in promotion of his latest album. The train will run for a month and features live music, photo ops and more. “I grew up taking the train from 79th to everywhere,” Chance said in a statement, according to The Source. “All of the train lines create a pathway to connection and community. That’s what STAR LINE is about—coming together, standing up, and protecting each other.”

Travis Scott took the stage Saturday night at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg after fans waited over an hour and a half. When a fan alleged he got onstage “over an hour late,” Travis took to X to address the chatter. “Wasn’t a hour late. Lighting delay brudda Flame always ready,” he wrote.

The Purple Rain Broadway musical will kick off in Prince‘s native Minneapolis, writer Brandon Jacobs-Jenkins told CBS News. “It just felt right,” he said. “It was one of the first thoughts we had when we signed onto the show was, ‘You have to premiere this in Minneapolis.'” The show will run at Minneapolis’ State Theatre from Oct. 16 to Nov. 23.

Now that September’s ended and Billie Joe Armstrong is wide awake, the Green Day frontman made a surprise appearance at Dua Lipa‘s concert in San Francisco on Sunday.

During her ongoing tour, the pop star has been inviting up or covering artists related to the city she’s playing. In introducing Armstrong, who famously is from the Bay Area, Lipa told the crowd, “Immediately when I thought about San Francisco, and I thought about all the incredible music that has come out of here, I thought about one band in particular that would be perfect.”

“I love this band for so many different reasons,” Lipa continued. “I love it because of the rawness, the authenticity, the message behind it, the space that it holds for people who feel sometimes they might not belong. I loved listening to this album in particular when I was little, I would put the CD in the Walkman and just kind of sing my heart out.”

Armstrong then took the stage and joined Lipa for a rendition of the American Idiot single “Wake Me Up When September Ends.”

Green Day, meanwhile, recently wrapped their world tour supporting the band’s latest album, 2024’s Saviors. Their next release is a 25th anniversary reissue of their 2000 album, Warning, due out Nov. 14.

All Time Low cut their concert short Sunday at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, due to vocal issues affecting frontman Alex Gaskarth.

Gaskarth explains in a Facebook post that he woke up Sunday morning feeling under the weather and “did everything I could to nurse it” ahead of the show.

“But one song into the set I knew that something was different, and that singing felt wrong in a way that I just couldn’t risk pushing through and potentially causing irreversible damage,” Gaskarth writes. “In our 20+ years of touring, I have never dealt with a voice-loss issue quite as debilitating on stage as this.”

Gaskarth plans to visit a specialist Monday and will share an update when he knows more.

“I also want to say such a massive thank you to all of you out there in the audience for being so understanding and kind to me in a moment of vulnerability and powerlessness,” Gaskarth writes. “I’m disappointed and feeling sad like you wouldn’t believe, buy your voices in that place felt like a warm hug when I really need it.”

All Time Low has been on tour in support of their upcoming album, Everyone’s Talking!, due out Friday. The outing is currently scheduled to continue Tuesday in Seattle.

The Weeknd is rooting for his home team.

The singer hyped up the Toronto Blue Jays in a new video touting the baseball team’s first playoff series win since 2016.

Set to his song “Timeless” with Playboi Carti, the video features a highlight reel of the team and a voice-over from The Weeknd.

“Timeless moments, we’ve had a few,” he says. “Pieces of history turned into everlasting memories. Now, these Blue Jays, armed with a new edge and a never-say-die attitude, find themselves on the brink of a legacy all on their own. Our city, buzzing. Our nation, consumed. Canada’s team just one step closer to fulfilling the ultimate goal.”

The Blue Jays lost their first American League Championship Series game against the Seattle Mariners on Sunday, 3-1. The teams face off again in Toronto Monday night.

Carlos Santana wants everyone to know he has no problem with Bad Bunny being the Super Bowl halftime show headliner.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer has issued a statement after false reports circulated on the internet that claimed he criticized the NFL for choosing Bad Bunny as the 2026 headliner.

“I congratulate and celebrate Bad Bunny’s success and his position right now with the world and with the Super Bowl,” read the statement. “I feel total oneness with what he’s doing because we are here to utilize art to complement and bring the world closer to harmony and oneness.”

“However, we’re living in a time of fear, division, separation, superiority and inferiority. Fear is the flavor right now,” he continued. “Fear is what motivates ignorant people to put words in my mouth – saying that I didn’t want Bad Bunny to be represented at the Super Bowl. I never said that, nor would I ever.”

“Just to be clear, my heart is in total harmony with Bad Bunny, and I celebrate his success, his triumph and his phenomenal achievement. Anything other than that is coming from people’s ignorance,” he added.

Santana noted that those who believe the “fabricated comments” out there about Bad Bunny “are not in harmony with themselves.”

“The people who make up such things – I invite them to do something more creative with their energy,” he said. “If you’re going to create a dialogue, create a dialogue for America of unity, harmony and oneness. Lord knows we need it right now.”

“In conclusion, let me say this: Santana is all about bringing unity, harmony, oneness, hope, courage, enthusiasm, light, spirit and soul,” the statement concluded. “Peace in your heart, peace in your mind, peace in your family. We are one – peace on Earth!”

On This Day, Oct. 13, 1986: Neil Young puts on the first-ever Bridge School concert

On This Day, Oct. 13, 1986…

The first ever Bridge School Benefit concert was held at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California.

Organized by Neil Young and his wife Pegi Young, the concert raised money for the Bridge School, which assists children with severe physical impairments and communication needs. Pegi was one of the co-founders of the school and was inspired to start it when she couldn’t find a school for her non-verbal son.

The night’s performers included Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Don Henley and E Street Band guitarist Nils Lofgren, with the artists performing primarily acoustic sets.

With the exception of 1987, a Bridge School benefit was held every year until 2016, with artists like Billy Idol, Bob Dylan, Pearl Jam, Elton John, R.E.M., The Who, Foo Fighters, Beck and Metallica performing over the years.

The final Bridge School concerts happened Oct. 22 and 23, 2016. In January 2017, following Neil and Pegi’s divorce, they announced the end of the Bridge School concerts.

Powerful nor’easter batters East Coast with heavy rain, strong winds: What you need to know about the forecast

Powerful nor’easter batters East Coast with heavy rain, strong winds: What you need to know about the forecast
Powerful nor’easter batters East Coast with heavy rain, strong winds: What you need to know about the forecast
ABC News

A coastal storm moving along the East Coast on Monday will continue to bring the threat of significant coastal flooding, strong to damaging winds and moderate to locally heavy rainfall.

Rain and wind will be dying down Monday morning in the Southeast, while the Northeast will see the worst impacts of the storm through midday.

Rain will become more scattered in the Northeast on Monday afternoon (with locally heavy rain possible at times), before it starts to move out overnight with only a few areas of sprinkles and light rain left for Tuesday morning.

Coastal flood warnings are in effect from North Carolina to Rhode Island, where moderate to locally major flood stages are possible Monday and may persist through Tuesday in some areas.

The worst of the flooding will be around high tide on Monday afternoon (mostly between noon and 3 p.m.), when strong onshore winds will bring water levels 1 to 3 feet above normal levels, leading to flooding and possible dune breaching.

Eight- to 15-foot breaking waves could lead to beach and coastal erosion in areas with coastal flood alerts.

Winds gusted up to 60 mph at Surf City, New Jersey, on Sunday night.

Wind alerts for coastal areas from New Jersey through New York, Connecticut and Cape Cod, Massachusetts, remain in effect Monday due to possible gusts up to 50 to 60 mph.

Rainfall on Monday will mostly be less than 1 inch for New Jersey and New York City, but Long Island, as well as the Hudson Valley up through Albany, could see 1 to 2 inches.

Rhode Island and eastern Massachusetts are also expecting 1 to 2 inches of rain, but some areas of 2 to 3 inches are possible.

Two men have been charged for the murder of former Lostprophets singer and convicted child sex criminal Ian Watkins.

Watkins, 48, was attacked and killed Saturday at the HMP Wakefield prison in West Yorkshire, England, where he had been serving a 29-year sentence for charges including attempted rape and sexual assault of a child under 13.

“Detectives have charged two men with murder after the death of a prisoner at HMP Wakefield on Saturday,” reads a statement on the West Yorkshire Police website. “Ian Watkins aged 48 was pronounced dead after being seriously assaulted at HMP Wakefield on Saturday morning.”

Watkins was previously attacked in prison in 2023.

Lostprophets formed in Wales in 1997, and scored a string of rock and alternative radio hits in the mid-2000s with singles including “Last Train Home” and “Wake Up (Make a Move).” The band broke up in 2013 following the charges against Watkins.

During her first performance at this year’s Austin City Limits Festival on Oct. 4, Sabrina Carpenter sang with ’90s country icon Shania Twain. During her second appearance on Oct. 11, Sabrina sang with yet another iconic ’90s female country act: The Chicks.

Sabrina welcomed the group, formerly known as The Dixie Chicks, to the stage to sing their 1998 hit “Wide Open Spaces” with her. The two acts then teamed up for a rendition of Sabrina’s hit “Please Please Please.”

In the “Juno” portion of the show, during which she pretends to “arrest” someone in the audience, the lucky “criminal” was Olivia Dean, the U.K. singer/songwriter who’ll be opening for Sabrina when she resumes her Short n’ Sweet tour later this month.

On Instagram, Sabrina wrote, “ACL weekend 2 such a special night. Getting to sing wide open spaces/ please please please with @thechicks was a true highlight of my life!! getting to arrest @oliviadeano for being too beautiful was very fitting…. you were so loud and rowdy Texas i miss you already but i do nottt [sic] miss that heat thank you goodbye.”
