Lauryn Hill only released one solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, and she recently explained why. In a lengthy Instagram comment under a post by Fraim World, she addressed rumors about her career ad denied claims regarding her absence from music.

“When you’re inspired and desire to be principled, what doesn’t get talked about enough is the drain… nor the challenge to find safety so that you can create with integrity,” Hill wrote. “Most see opportunity as dollars only and often exclude the ‘sense.’ [Fugees’] The Score nor the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill were made because we were ‘allowed’ to represent what we did, we fought for every inch.”

She added that “wild success can cause greed that begins to degenerate the art for the money,” while emphasizing that “artists go through phases” and that “creativity requires expression, exploration and experimentation.”

Lauryn also compared herself to Harriet Tubman, saying she also spoke “difficult truths to power before certain forces tried to close those doors.”

“If it was so easy to do, where is that expression now on the world stage? Systems fear what they can’t control. Creativity is most potent when it’s free,” she continued. “If I did nothing else, I introduced standards and possibilities to a generation that didn’t know they could operate on that level before then.”

She added that she worked outside the support of the music industry before people fully understood her impact. “Another artist who values inspiration then recognizes IT’S [sic] value and re-presents it to an audience then ready to receive it,” she wrote.

Lauryn released the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill in August 1998. Featuring Carlos Santana, Mary J. Blige and D’Angelo, the album was certified Diamond and remains the only rap album by a woman to spend multiple weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200.

Adventure Time: Side Quests now has a streaming home and release date.

The upcoming animated TV series and latest Adventure Time spinoff will debut to Disney+ and Hulu on June 29.

Produced by Cartoon Network Studios, Adventure Time: Side Quests was originally announced at the 2024 Annecy International Animation Film Festival. The original Adventure Time series ran for 10 seasons on Cartoon Network while its other spinoffs, Adventure Time: Distant Lands and Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake, were released on HBO Max.

Billed as a companion to the original series, Adventure Time: Side Quests follows “young hero Finn and his magical dog best friend Jake as they embark on adventures across the fantastical land of Ooo — partying with cloud people and punching evil in the butt along the way,” according to its official synopsis.

This new series was designed to introduce a new generation of fans to the Adventure Time universe through what are described as lighter, self-contained adventures. It also strives to give “existing fans more of what they love” through standalone, “silly quests and playful challenges.”

Sasha Knight will take on the voice of Finn the Human while John DiMaggio returns to voice Jake the Dog. Fan-favorite characters Ice King, Princess Bubblegum, Marceline and BMO are also set to appear in the new series. They’re voiced by Tom Kenny, Hynden Walch, Olivia Olson and Niki Yang, respectively.

Nate Cash serves as showrunner and an executive producer on Adventure Time: Side Quests.

“Making Side Quests felt like making the original Adventure Time, which felt like hanging out with art school buddies making professional cartoons. That sounds like a big sandwich of feelings, and it was! You’re going to love these NEW adventures with Finn & Jake!” Cash said in a press release.

Disney is the parent company of ABC News and Hulu.

Now, this is what you call timing: Cody Johnson sits at #1 on Billboard Country Airplay with “The Fall,” on the heels of winning his first entertainer of the year trophy at Sunday’s 61st Academy of Country Music Awards.

It’s Cody’s 15th entry on the chart, dating back to 2016’s “With You I Am.” It’s also his third #1, following 2024’s “The Painter” and “‘Til You Can’t,” which stayed at the top for two weeks in 2022.

“The Fall” also makes the list of songs that have taken at least 55 weeks to rise to the top of the chart.

Justin Moore’s “Time’s Tickin'” from 2026 currently holds the all-time record with its 67-week journey. Travis Denning’s “After a Few” and Michael Ray’s “Whiskey and Rain” were the previous kings of the slow burn, having both taken 65 weeks to make it to the top.

In addition to snagging entertainer and male vocalist honors at the ACMs, Cody performed his version of “Travelin’ Soldier” ahead of Memorial Day weekend.

Paul McCartney was the musical guest on May 16’s Saturday Night Live, but ahead of the performance, the show finally gave fans a chance to relive one of his more iconic SNL appearances from the past.

Although it happened back in 1993, the show recently posted video to YouTube of McCartney’s appearance during The Chris Farley Show sketch, which basically had Farley geek out over the chance to interview the Beatles legend.

During the sketch, Farley peppers McCartney with questions like, “Remember when you were with The Beatles?” followed by a bunch of other “remember when” questions about his Beatles career, including the time he got arrested in Japan for pot, the hoax that claimed he had died and whether he meant it when he sang “the love you take is equal to the love you make” from The Beatles song “The End.”

The 1993 appearance was McCartney’s second time as musical guest on the late-night sketch show, and he performed three songs on the show: “Get Out of My Way” and “Biker Like an Icon” from the album Off the Ground, along with the Beatles classic “Hey Jude.”

McCartney’s Saturday appearance on SNL was his fifth time as musical guest on the show. He performed three songs on the episode, as well: The Boys of Dungeon Lane track “Days We Left Behind,” the Wings classic “Band on the Run” and his solo single “Coming Up.”

(DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo.) — Colorado public health officials are investigating the death of an adult resident as a result of hantavirus.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the Douglas County Health Department said the death is not linked to the outbreak on the MV Hondius cruise ship, which led to 11 confirmed and probable cases, including two confirmed deaths and one suspected death.

The individual lived in Douglas County — located just south of Denver — but information about the patient’s name, age and sex were not immediately available.

Health officials said the individual was infected by the Sin Nombre hantavirus, which is the most common cause of hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS) in North America.

HPS symptoms typically appear from one to eight weeks after contact with the virus, with early signs including fever, fatigue and muscle aches, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Half of HPS patients will experience headaches, chills, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain.’

Between four and 10 days after the initial phase of illness, symptoms including coughing, shortness of breath and tightness in the chest can emerge, the CDC said, adding that a patient’s lungs can fill with fluid.

“Hantavirus infections caused by the Sin Nombre hantavirus occur regularly in Colorado, usually in the spring and summer, and can cause a severe and sometimes deadly respiratory disease,” according to public health officials. “In Colorado, the deer mouse is the rodent species that most commonly exposes people to the virus. Avoiding exposure to rodents and their urine, feces, saliva, and nesting materials is the best way to prevent infection.”

According to the CDC, there were six cases of Hantavirus in Colorado from 2020 to 2023.

“The Way I Am” singer has explained on Instagram how she got that gig. “I got a call on a monday [May 11] to fill in in Sir Paul Mccartney’s band for that Saturday for @nbcsnl and proceeded to have 6 days of ‘what is my life????’” she writes.

“What an honor it has been to be inside this music that has shaped me. his band and crew and team are all as lovely as he,” she continues. “[A]nd he is lovely. just as you’d imagine. even lovelier i’d say. I will never forget these 6 days for the rest of my life. I wish my father could see me now. he’d be prouder than punch.”

Ingrid backed the Beatles legend on his new song, “Days Gone By,” as well as the Wings classic “Band on the Run” and his 1980 single “Coming Up.”

Ingrid’s most recent album, For the Dreamers, came out in 2024. That year, the Broadway musical The Notebook, for which she wrote the music and lyrics, premiered on Broadway and received three Tony nominations.

Ingrid is launching her Cozy Fall Trio tour on Oct. 9 in Tucson, Arizona, during which she will sing with Allie Moss and Hannah Winkler.
