Lady Gaga going for Emmy glory with ‘Wednesday’ track

Lady Gaga already has a Sports Emmy on her trophy shelf, but now, she’s reportedly aiming for a Primetime Emmy as well.

Variety reports that Gaga is submitting “The Dead Dance,” the song she wrote for the Netflix series Wednesday, for Emmy consideration in theoutstanding original music and lyrics category. She co-wrote the song with producers Andrew Watt and Cirkut, and it appears in season 2 episode 7, soundtracking a dance routine performed by the characters of Enid and Agnes.

Last September, Emma Myers and Evie Templeton — who play Enid and Agnes — joined Gaga onstage in London to perform the dance routine while she sang “The Dead Dance.” Gaga also made a cameo appearance in season 2 of Wednesday as Rosaline Rotwood, a former teacher at Wednesday’s school.

Gaga told the Netflix site Tudum, “The inspiration for ‘The Dead Dance’ was a breakup, and it’s about how we sometimes feel when it’s over — how a relationship ending can kill our ability to feel hopeful about love. In the song, I say, ‘I’ll keep on dancing till I’m dead,’ meaning that I’m acknowledging that, and I’m going to keep going. I’m also saying, ‘I’m taking the power back.’”

Emmy nominations will be announced July 8.

As for the Sports Emmy Gaga already won, it was for her performance of “Hold My Hand” during the Super Bowl 59 pregame show.

for KING + COUNTRY to debut new music this fall on The Most Beautiful Colours Tour

Fans will get a preview of the new album by for KING + COUNTRY on the duo’s upcoming fall tour.

The Most Beautiful Colours Tour, in support of their album of the same name, gets underway Sept. 24 in Spokane, Washington, and is set to wrap up Oct. 18 in Boston. You can sign up for presale access by texting “MIRACLE” to 615-257-9555. Presale tickets will be available starting May 19, with tickets going on sale to the general public May 22 at 10 a.m. CT.

Another taste of the new album will come June 5, when Joel and Luke Smallbone release their latest single, “Miracle.”

“Our new forthcoming album … is our most hope-filled yet, and we feel there’s no better way to celebrate than to spend these evenings together across North America this fall,” Joel and Luke say in a statement. “It’s our hope that you leave these shows with a deep sense of optimism and joy in the midst of all you may face in the world today.”

But you don’t have to wait for September to see for KING + COUNTRY: They also has some tour dates scheduled for July, and they’re also hosting an event called Hometown Weekend in Franklin, Tennessee, from Aug. 14 through 16. It will feature a preview of the next album, as well as a concert, special guests and more.

Meanwhile, the duo’s film Drummer Boy, inspired by their popular rendition of the Christmas favorite “The Little Drummer Boy,” will arrive in theaters in November. Joel stars in the movie, and also co-directed it with the duo’s brother, Ben Smallwood. A press release describes the movie as a “Christmas musical about two brothers who find themselves on opposite sides of the American Revolutionary War.”

Did you forget AWOLNATION’s Megalithic Symphony is now 15 years old? Well, blame it on your ADD, baby.

Indeed, Aaron Bruno and company’s 2011 debut album celebrated its decade-and-a-half anniversary in March. Now they’re celebrating the milestone with a special virtual event.

The AWOLNATION YouTube channel is airing a live rewatch party for the video for “Sail,” the breakout single off of Megalith Symphony, starting Tuesday at 3 p.m. ET. That’ll be followed by a behind-the-scenes video about the making of Megalithic Symphony exclusive to members of YouTube premium.

The song “Sail” is certified Diamond by the RIAA and spent 79 weeks on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, which is fourth-most all time. Its original video has over 355 million views on YouTube.

Megalithic Symphony also spawned the singles “Not Your Fault” and “Kill Your Heroes.” AWOLNATION released a 10th anniversary reissue in 2021.

The most recent AWOLNATION album is 2024’s The Phantom Five.

50th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s ‘Wish You Were Here’ celebrated with spatial audio listening events

Pink Floyd’s classic album Wish You Were Here turned 50 last year, but the milestone continues to be celebrated.

The latest event marking the album’s anniversary is taking place in London, where the album will be played from start to finish in 360-degree spatial audio at the intimate listening room Polygon Portal in Soho.

The announcement on Instagram describes the experience as, “Every guitar line, every breath, every shimmering synth pad moving all around you. This is Wish You Were Here as you’ve never heard it before.”

The playbacks will be hosted May 30 and 31, and then again in June. Tickets are on sale now.

Released Sept. 12, 1975, Wish You Were Here was a huge hit for Pink Floyd, reaching #1 in both the U.S. and U.K. It became Pink Floyd’s fastest-selling album ever and went on to sell 20 million copies.

The album featured the nine-part “Shine on You Crazy Diamond,” which was a tribute to founding member Syd Barrett, who’d been fired seven years earlier due to his drug use and mental health issues. The album’s title track became a classic rock staple and has often made lists of the greatest songs of all time.

Kennedy Ryan on why ‘Score’ was ‘one of the hardest books [she’s] ever written’

Hollywood is calling to Kennedy Ryan, in more ways than one.

In addition to a TV show in the works at Peacock and a first-look deal with Universal, the romance author has released the latest book in her Hollywood Renaissance series, Score.

The story, a follow-up to 2021’s Reel, centers on the second chance romance between screenwriter Verity Hill, who’s living with bipolar disorder, and musician Bellamy “Monk” Wright — former college lovers who reunite on the set of a period film called Dessi Blue.

“I think I related to Verity as a writer. And I really related to her desire specifically around the Black community, around Black art and Black history,” Ryan says. “Really that’s the soul of what this whole series is.”

Ryan also took great care to make sure Verity’s bipolar disorder was represented accurately. She says it was “one of the hardest books I’ve ever written” for that reason.

“In media, we have seen bipolar disorder sensationalized, misrepresented, harmful representation,” Ryan says. “And I really didn’t want to perpetuate that, which meant really digging in with people who have the diagnosis, their family, their partners, their psychiatrist, their therapist. And that’s really the foundation for the representation in this book. And I’m very, very proud of it.”

While her books cover some heavier topics, Ryan promises her readers that by nature of the romance genre, they’ll never get “hurt without healing.”

“There is someone who will walk with you through hurt to healing,” she says. “It is also to encourage people who have actually lived those experiences that joy is a possibility for us in life.”

Everclear announces Lucky 7 US tour featuring fan-voted set list

Everclear has announced a U.S. tour.

The trek, dubbed the Lucky 7 tour, launches Oct. 22 in Los Angeles and will conclude Nov. 22 in Nashville. “Flavor of the Week” band American Hi-Fi will also be on the bill.

As part of the Lucky 7 tour, Everclear is asking fans to vote on which songs they’ll play alongside hits such as “Father of Mine” and “Santa Monica.” The band will include the seven most-requested songs for each city in the set for its corresponding show, thus the name of the tour.

“Our fans have always been a huge part of what we do, so giving them a real voice in the setlist — letting them vote on the songs they want to hear — makes this tour feel even more special,” says frontman Art Alexakis. “We can’t wait to get out there, and having our old friends American Hi-Fi with us is perfect!”

Presales begin Tuesday at 10 a.m. local time, and tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday at 10 a.m. local time.

White House uses Drake’s ‘Iceman’ track to soundtrack ICE video

It seems the White House was also anticipating Drake’s Iceman. Following the release of the album, the White Housed posted a video soundtracked by the song “Make Them Know.”

In the clip, President Donald Trump takes on the role of “Iceman,” stepping out of a helicopter and walking down a red carpet surrounded by snow. The video then transitions to footage of ICE agents at work.

The post comes shortly after the White House shared its version of Drake’s album artwork, which features a hand wearing a Michael Jackson-style glove and holding a MAGA chain pendant. “ICED OUT,” the caption reads.

Iceman arrived alongside Drake’s other recent releases, Habibti and Maid of Honour.

KISS announces October fan event in Germany

KISS has announced another 2026 fan event, this time in Germany.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of their first-ever show in Germany on May 18, 1975, the band revealed on social media that they will soon be announcing details of a new fan event happening in Germany in October.

The post notes, “this is one you won’t want to miss!”

Fans are encouraged to sign up for the KISS Army for updates on the event.

The news comes about a month after KISS announced details of the second edition of KISS Kruise: Landlocked in Vegas.

This year’s event is taking place Nov. 13-15 at the Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas and will once again feature two KISS unmasked shows with Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer. It will also include Q&As and activities with the band.

The weekend will also feature an all-star tribute to KISS founding member Ace Frehley, who passed away in 2025, plus performances by Night Ranger, former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick, Slaughter and Faster Pussycat. There will also be a preparty on Nov. 12 featuring the Ace Frehley Band, Enuff Z’Nuff and others.

3 adults killed in shooting at Islamic Center of San Diego; both suspects dead: Police

(SAN DIEGO) — Three adult men, one of whom was a security guard, were killed in a shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego on Monday, authorities said.

The security guard appeared to play a “pivotal role” in keeping the shooting from being worse, police said at a news conference.

Both suspects, who are teenagers, are dead from apparent self-inflicted gunshot wounds, police said.

All children are safe, police said.

Photos show children being evacuated from the area.

Police said the shooting is currently being considered a hate crime since it took place at a mosque.

The Islamic Center of San Diego says it is the largest mosque in San Diego County.

“We strongly condemn this horrifying act of violence,” Tazheen Nizam, the executive director of the San Diego chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by this attack. No one should ever fear for their safety while attending prayers or studying at an elementary school.”

In New York City, the NYPD said there’s “no known nexus to NYC or specific threats to NYC houses of worship,” but the department said it is increasing officer deployments to mosques “out of an abundance of caution.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit Beijing for talks with China’s Xi Jinping

(LONDON) — Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to visit Beijing this week for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Putin is scheduled to be welcomed at the airport upon landing in Beijing on Tuesday, according to the Kremlin, which said he will be greeted by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

Then on Wednesday, talks between Putin and Xi are set to occur at the Grand Hall of the People, followed by a formal reception, according to the Kremlin.

The two leaders “will discuss China-Russia relations, cooperation in various fields and international and regional issues of mutual interest,” the spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The state visit marks Putin’s 25th trip to China, according to the spokesperson.

The visit comes after last week’s high-stakes, multi-day summit between Xi and President Donald Trump in Beijing.

The two discussed the U.S. war in Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, fentanyl and increasing Chinese purchases of American farm products, according to a White House official.

Xi also warned that if the issue of Taiwan is handled “improperly,” the two nations could “come into conflict,” according to China’s official state broadcaster Xinhua.
