Monaleo has been forced to cancel a pair of shows following emergency surgery. She took to social media Tuesday to explain the series of events that led to her decision.

“Unfortunately, due to a sudden medical emergency that required immediate surgery, I have to cancel my upcoming Memphis and New Orleans shows,” she wrote on X. “I’m beyond disappointed, but right now I need to prioritize my health and recovery to prevent any further complications.”

She later revealed that she went to the emergency room after medication failed to ease a sharp pain in her lower abdomen. Doctors discovered she “had an inflamed cyst the size of a softball that had twisted and cut off blood flow and caused bleeding in my abdomen.”

“Had to have emergency surgery and unfortunately lost an ovary and fallopian tube in the process… listen to your body!!!!!!! If something feels off IT IS!!!!!” Monaleo warned her fans.

She added that she is “currently sorting through the refund process and looking at rescheduling dates as promised” and doesn’t know “how long this healing process will take.”

“I do want to say this though: listen to your body when things are off. As a person who hates ERs and never wants to go, this could’ve been a lot worse,” she continued. “Love y’all lots. Wait up for me — the Pimpcess will be back and better!!!!!”

Monaleo’s Memphis and New Orleans shows were scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday. It remains to be seen whether additional dates will be affected as she recovers.

Monaleo is currently on her Who Did The Body Tour and is also scheduled to join Summer Walker as an opening act on the Still Finally Over It arena tour beginning in June.

Bonnie Raitt, George Thorogood and Hot Tuna’s Jorma Kaukonen are among the artists paying tribute to blues singer and guitarist John Hammond, who passed away Feb. 28.

The Grammy-winning Hammond, who over the years played with such artists as Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Levon Helm, Duane Allman and Stevie Ray Vaughan, was the son of record producer and talent scout John H. Hammond Jr., who signed artists like Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen to Columbia Records.

In a post on Instagram, Raitt revealed that the younger Hammond “was the inspiration for teaching myself blues guitar and learning how to sing these songs we loved so much. He made it cool and all right.”

“Not only was he a virtuoso on guitar, harp, singing and choosing songs, to me it felt like he was totally possessed by the blues,” she added. “I’ve never witnessed anyone as swept up and away as John playing his music live.”

Thorogood called Hammond “an icon, a professional role model and, most importantly, a friend.” He added, “While we mourn his passing, we celebrate what the man and his music meant to us, and to so many.”

Kaukonen wrote a long tribute to Hammond on Instagram, describing their first meeting at Antioch College.

“As an artist, John seemed to have sprung full grown from the womb. He might have been inspired by tradition but he was never a replicator… he always did things his way,” he wrote. “As a blues singer, he was always nonpareil. You can recognize John’s voice anywhere, any time! I know a lot of great guitar players but no one, and I mean no one, played like John!”

(BATAVIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio) — A 19-year-old who crashed and became trapped upside down in a river in Batavia Township, Ohio, was pulled from her sinking pickup in a dramatic rescue captured on body camera footage.

The footage from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office obtained by ABC News showed first responders on Feb. 22 working to safely rescue Andi Burns as rising, freezing water filled the truck and a dispatcher stayed on the line to keep her calm.

Burns was driving home from work on State Route 222 when she lost control of her vehicle on black ice, hit a tree and plunged off a steep embankment into the Little Miami River, according to a copy of the accident report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Deputies and firefighters arrived on the scene to find the truck overturned in the river, according to the sheriff’s office.

According to Clermont County officials, Burns was wearing an Apple Watch that automatically called 911 using its crash detection feature.

“Please God please,” Burns was heard saying on the 911 call, telling dispatch that her head was “barely up” from the water.

In an interview with ABC News recalling the incident, Burns said she was “terrified.”

“It was completely black out, pitch black,” she said. “I didn’t think that anybody could hear me or knew what happened — I just was starting to freak out.”

Rescuers jumped into the water and shouted for tools to shatter a window and pop the door as they fought to reach her, according to the body camera footage.

“Grab my hand, grab both my hands,” one of the firefighters could be heard telling Burns in the footage.

Firefighter and EMT Tommy Jetter, who’s in his first year on the job, told ABC News that “the way that the car went in and flipped upside down altogether, that’s a very, very dangerous car accident wreck.”

He credited Burns for “being able to stay awake and find that air pocket and for her staying calm is very impressive.”

With the cab of the truck nearly filled with water and her head just inches from the water, crews were able to free Burns and pull her to safety, according to the footage.

“We got her!” the rescue team was heard shouting in the body cam footage.

Burns did not sustain any serious injuries and was able to walk away from the scene with just bruises, the accident report says.

“Surviving that car accident of one being in the water is very, very, very lucky, very fortunate, God was definitely on her side for that,” Jetter said.

Burns told ABC News she plans to become an EMT in Clermont County.

Cameras have started rolling on Untamed season 2.

Netflix has revealed that production on the second season of the hit mystery thriller series has begun in Hawaii. The season will shoot on location on O’ahu and the island of Hawaii.

Eric Bana will once again star as Kyle Turner, who takes on a new case that brings him to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park.

Untamed is co-showrun and executive produced by Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith. The duo told Netflix they are “excited to explore the pristine landscapes and cultural identity of a very different national park, and find Turner in a new state of mind, outside the comfort of Yosemite.”

A special Hawaiian blessing took place last week, according to Netflix, ahead of production starting. Those in attendance included Bana, John Wells, Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith, as well as Adriana Nassar and Paola Franco from Netflix and Matt Devahl from Warner Bros Television.

According to its official logline, season 2 “follows special agent Kyle Turner as he’s called to investigate a mysterious death in Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, where local tensions and the volatile, living landscape become an unpredictable force.”

Season 2 will consist of six one-hour episodes. The first season debuted to Netflix on July 17, 2025, where it reached the #1 spot on the Netflix Global Top 10. It remained on the list for seven weeks and was the third-most-watched Netflix program during the second half of 2025 after accumulating 92.8 million views, according to the streamer’s engagement report.

The president of one of Spain’s biggest soccer teams has reached out to Madonna in hopes of locating an article of clothing the star wore more than 35 years ago.

In July 1990, during her Blond Ambition tour, Madonna gave a concert at the stadium where the team, Celta Vigo, plays. Onstage that night, she wore one of the team’s home jerseys. In her open letter to the Queen of Pop, team president Marián Mouriño Terrazo writes, “The photograph of you wearing our shirt has become a myth and is now part of our history which is written often beyond the limits of the football pitch.”

She goes on to write that the team is holding “on to the hope of finding the garment you once wore,” because it’s “a symbol of part of the emotional heritage of our club and what it stands for.”

Terrazo notes that since Madonna wore the shirt, “We came to better understand what you stood for back then: questioning established norms and standing up to those who try to tell you what you can or cannot do. At our club we recognise ourselves in this line of thought.”

Terrazo goes on to say that on Friday the team plans to send Madonna “a gesture of affection” from the stadium before Celta plays Real Madrid. This “gesture,” she notes, is being sent “with the intention of asking you just one simple question: Do you have it?”

The note ends with Terrazo asking Madonna to DM her if she knows where the shirt is, or if she’d like to help the team locate it.

Andra Day will receive the Harry Chapin Humanitarian Award at WhyHunger’s Chapin Awards Gala, an honor given to those who use their platform to “advocate for a more just, equitable world,” according to a press release.

“‘Rise Up’ began as a personal reminder to keep going when the world feels heavy, and I never imagined it would become an anthem for resilience and justice,” Andra says of her 2015 hit. “To me, justice isn’t abstract — it means no one goes hungry, every child has nourishment, and every community has hope. If this song has helped even one person have more compassion or be healed, I’m grateful.”

Beyond the impact of the song, Day has advocated for juvenile justice system reform, and championed social and racial justice, women’s rights and more. She also participated in the 2020 PlayOn benefit concert, which raised money for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and WhyHunger, an organization that “works to end hunger and advance the human right to nutritious food in the U.S. and around the world,” as per the website.

Her recognition will place her among a class of previous honorees including Harry Belafonte, Jon Batiste, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels and Barbra Streisand, according to the release.

“We could not be more excited to honor Andra Day at the upcoming Annual Chapin Awards Gala and celebrate her commitment to using her platform to advocate for social justice, racial equity, women’s rights and so much more,” Jenique Jones, WhyHunger’s executive director, says in a statement.

The Chapin Awards Gala — and the presentation of Day’s award — is scheduled for May 6 in New York City.
