Katy Perry has so far announced that she’ll be touring in Australia, Mexico, South America and the U.K. next year, and she’ll have a buddy on the road with her: her 4-year-old daughter.

Speaking to the U.K. paper The Sun, Katy says, “I’m really excited Daisy can join me on this world tour. She’s four now and then she’ll turn five on the road. Time really does fly. Some of my single friends that don’t have children, whenever they come and visit, and they only see her every six months or what have you, they’re like, ‘Whoa, she’s grown.’ It’s like, time is happening, it’s ticking.”

Katy adds that she’s “so excited to introduce her to a lot of places in the world.”

As for what she has planned with Daisy during her downtime, Katy says, “I know our days off will be fun playgrounds and outdoor adventures. In the U.K., we love the parks. We already spend quite a lot of time during the summer in London so we love it so much. We have such a good feeling when we’re there. It’s so inclusive and it’s so built for families.”

Katy also addressed the fact that she recently hit a milestone age-wise, noting, “I guess I did step into what I call a ‘zero f**** 40.'”

“A therapist told me one day, ‘No one can make you feel something about yourself that you already don’t feel about yourself’. So if someone says something about me that isn’t true, it doesn’t affect me because I know who I am now. I know myself better than ever.”

She adds, “I care a lot about the things that are worth caring about but if someone’s not being kind or saying untrue things, then it doesn’t really matter.”

Sure, being part of Country Music’s Biggest Night is exciting. But for co-host Peyton Manning, witnessing special moments onstage and backstage is the highlight.

“It’s a life-changing night for musicians that are going to win certain awards, whether they’re performing their best song that year onstage at the CMAs or winning an award for Best Song or Entertainer of the Year,” Peyton shares. “I can appreciate the significance of that moment.”

Peyton, who will host the show for a third time this year, also recounts a special moment from last year’s awards — one that’s still vivid in his mind.

“I remember I had a 20-second visit with Lainey [Wilson] backstage after she won Entertainer of the Year, and I could just see the emotion on her face,” says Peyton. “It’s just really cool for me to be able to witness that.”

“I just have so much appreciation and respect for these artists, their work ethic, the journey that they have been on to get to this moment,” he adds. “So, to be able to kind of have that kind of view from backstage and on the stage, that’s the best part about it for me.”

The 2024 CMAs, hosted by Peyton, Lainey and Luke Bryan, will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and stream the next day on Hulu.

While you wait, remember to catch the one-hour special, Vegas Lights & Country Nights: Countdown to the CMA Awards, on Tuesday at 10:01 p.m. ET on ABC.

Madonna is sharing the struggles she’s been having getting her long-in-the-works biopic made.

In a post on Instagram, the singer revealed that she’s been in Los Angeles talking to producers and agents about the film, and they’ve been trying to convince her to downsize the project, which she says she’s been working on for four years.

Madonna writes that all the input has made her realize “everything in my life is going to be challenged.”

“No easy rides for me. I guess I should be grateful,” she writes. “It forces me to think outside the box. I did not have a normal life. I cannot make this in the normal way.”

“Spending time with my creative friends was just the fuel I needed to keep going!” she adds. “We all agreed that we need to be even more fearless!!! We cannot shrink and make ourselves smaller.”

“If you want something badly enough in life— the whole universe will conspire to hel [sic] you get it,” she says.

Madonna then suggested one movie may not be enough to tell her story, asking fans, “Should I make the story of my life into a series or a feature Film. Think before you answer !!”

(WALDORF, Md.) — The Charles County Sheriff’s Office in Maryland is investigating an incident where an elementary school student was allegedly found hanging on a hook in a school bathroom, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office told ABC News on Monday. The injuries to the student were described by his parents as severe bruising on his neck and face.

The alleged incident took place on Friday afternoon at C. Paul Barnhart Elementary School in Waldorf, Maryland.

The parents of the student, whose identity has not been disclosed because he is a minor, spoke out about the incident on the condition of anonymity to protect their son’s identity in an interview with the ABC affiliate in Washington D.C., WJLA.

They said that their son is a second grader in Charles County, Maryland, and is recovering from his injuries.

“[School officials] said that he was choking, so we’re thinking that he was at lunch and he’s choking off of food,” the boy’s mother told WJLA.

In her interview with WJLA, the mother also said that the principal told the family their son was “horseplaying” with a fourth grader in the bathroom and that his jacket accidentally got caught on a hook.

C. Paul Barnhart Elementary School Principal Carrie Burke said in a letter to the community that was obtained by ABC News that the incident occurred while two students were “reportedly horseplaying” in the bathroom when one student’s jacket “got caught on a stall door hook,” and “the student was not able to free themselves and the other student involved was also not able to help them.”

“This student left the bathroom to seek help from staff and reported the incident to administrators. Administrators responded and were able to assist, but staff called 911 for additional precautionary medical support,” Burke added.

Burke claimed misinformation was shared in the community amid confusion over the incident but said that “due to privacy reasons,” she is “not able to share any additional details.”

In her interview with WJLA, the boy’s mother cast doubt on the principal’s statement and is demanding more answers from the school.

“[The principal] said before she got him down, he was foaming out the mouth, unconscious, and it was from horse playing … That doesn’t make sense to me,” she told WJLA.

“I want someone to be held accountable for what happened to our child,” she added.

In a letter to the community, Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) Superintendent Maria Navarro said the school district is investigating the incident.

Navarro pushed back against claims that the school district is “covering up” the circumstances surrounding this incident.

“I have seen comments online stating that the school and CCPS are covering up what happened. This is not true. The principal nor the school system are hiding anything. Rather, we are sharing what information we can while we conduct a full investigation,” Navarro wrote in the letter.

“The investigation is ongoing; speculation about what did or did not happen as well as the circulation of misinformation impedes the investigation process,” Navarro said, adding that on Friday the school resource officer filed a preliminary report with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

Navarro said in the letter that “any student who is found to violate the CCPS Code of Student Conduct faces disciplinary consequences, and it is imperative that we have all the information so that we can adequately address consequences.”

Trump defense secretary pick Pete Hegseth was flagged as potential military ‘insider threat’ because of ‘Deus Vult’ tattoo

(WASHINGTON) — The National Guardsman who in 2021 pegged Pete Hegseth as a potential “insider threat” clarified in an interview with ABC News that his complaint targeted a “Deus Vult” tattoo on the former Fox News host’s arm — not a cross on his chest, as Hegseth has repeatedly claimed.

President-elect Donald Trump last week tapped Hegseth to lead the Department of Defense. He listed Hegseth’s experience as a veteran and his media experience as his reasons for the choice.

As Reuters and The Associated Press first reported, Sgt. DeRicko Gaither sent an image of the “Deus Vult” tattoo to Maj. Gen. William Walker shortly before President Joe Biden’s inauguration. The phrase, which translates from Latin to “God wills it,” has been co-opted by white nationalist groups, experts have said.

“This information is quite disturbing, sir,” Gaither wrote in the email to Walker, who has not responded to ABC News’ request for comment. “This falls along the lines of (an) Insider Threat.”

Hegseth claimed in his book “The War on Warriors” that his “orders were revoked” ahead of Biden’s inauguration because fellow service members had flagged a tattoo of the Jerusalem Cross on his chest as a white nationalist symbol. As a result, Hegseth wrote, he resigned from the military.

But Gaither clarified in a text message to ABC News that his complaint targeted the “Deus Vult” tattoo, despite “the narrative that has been out there.”

“Just so we are clear. This has NOTHING to do with the Jerusalem Cross tattoo on his chest,” Gaither wrote in the text. “This has everything to do with the ‘DEUS VULT’ Tattoo on his inner bicep.”

Gaither’s sensitivity to what he described as the “disturbing” imagery in Hegseth’s tattoos came at a time when the military was grappling with the fact that dozens of active and former service members had participated in the Jan. 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol.

Gaither, who confirmed to ABC News the contents of his complaint — which he wrote just one week after Jan. 6, emphasized that “this wasn’t then and isn’t now a personal attack towards Pete Hegseth.”

“The information received and [the] email sent on January 14th was the protocol that had to be followed because of the position assignment that I was assigned to,” explained Gaither, who was at the time assigned as the Guards’ head of security. “The protocol was followed and would be followed again if this issue involved any other service member, myself included.”

As ABC News has reported, Hegseth fired back at the initial coverage of this matter in The Associated Press by claiming it was “Anti-Christian bigotry.”

“They can target me — I don’t give a damn — but this type of targeting of Christians, conservatives, patriots and everyday Americans will stop on DAY ONE at DJT’s DoD,” Hegseth wrote on X.
