After “drop dead,” the first single from her new album, hit #1, Olivia Rodrigo is going to see if she can do it again with a second track from the project.

She’s releasing “the cure” on Friday, and you can presave it now. You can also preorder 7-inch vinyl and cassette versions on her webstore. Those physical versions include an exclusive bonus song called “never do.”

Liv wrote on Instagram, “it’s my favorite song on the album and one of my favorite songs I’ve ever made. couldn’t be more excited for you guys to hear it.”

The lyrics of the song were teased as part of two wall murals. One read, “why can’t you come stitch me up?” and the other read, “it’ll never be the cure.”

Both “the cure” and “drop dead” are from Olivia’s new album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, which is out June 12.

It’s worth noting that in addition to having a song called “the cure,” Olivia has a connection to Rock & Roll Hall of Famers The Cure. Last year, she duetted with The Cure singer Robert Smith at the Glastonbury Festival, and in “drop dead” she name-checks their song “Just Like Heaven.”

Talk about a pretty fly commencement speaker.

The Offspring frontman Dexter Holland delivered an address to graduating students during the 2026 commencement ceremony for the University of Southern California’s Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences.

In his remarks, Holland spoke about his experience as a Triple Trojan, meaning he’s received three degrees from USC: a bachelor’s in biological sciences in 1988, a master’s in molecular biology in 1990 and a Ph.D. in molecular biology in 2017.

“I hope that throughout your life, you achieve things so cool and so legit that you, too, like me, stop and wonder whether this is really happening,” Holland said. “Don’t just choose a career, choose a life that’s as messy and as brilliant as you are.”

Holland previously delivered the commencement address for USC’s Keck School of Medicine in 2022.

The Offspring, meanwhile, just announced a pair of concerts taking place in Quebec in August focused on the band’s older material and deep cuts.

There was a Squeeze reunion on the latest episode of the BBC music show Later… With Jools Holland.

Squeeze members Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook reunited with their former bandmate Holland on the Sunday night episode, with the trio performing Squeeze’s debut single, “Take Me I’m Yours,” which was released in 1978.

The performance kicked off the 68th season of Later… With Jools Holland and marked the trio’s first performance together in 36 years.

Holland was a founding member of Squeeze and played keyboards in the band until 1980. He appeared on the band’s first three albums — their 1978 self-titled debut, 1979’s Cool for Cats and 1980’s Argybargy — before leaving to launch a solo career.

In addition to the “Take Me I’m Yours” performance, Squeeze performed “Why Don’t You” and “The Place We Call Mars” from their most recent album, Trixies.

Squeeze is set to hit the road on a North American tour this summer with Adam Ant, Haircut 100 and Glenn’s son, Leon Tilbrook. The tour kicks off Aug. 16 in Nashville and wraps Sept. 27 in Detroit.

What to know about the San Diego Islamic Center shooting suspects

(SAN DIEGO) — Three men, one of whom was a security guard, were killed in a shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego on Monday, authorities said, with investigators saying they are currently considering the incident as a hate crime.

Two suspects, aged 17 and 18, were reported dead from apparent self-inflicted gunshot wounds, police said.

Authorities are investigating two teenagers, Cain Clark and Caleb Vazquez, as the suspected attackers in the shooting, a number of sources told ABC News.

The shooting was reported shortly before noon Monday, police said.

Police are investigating a potential motive but said the shooting is currently being considered as a hate crime.

“There was definitely hate rhetoric that was involved,” San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl said during a Monday press briefing.

Anti-Islamic writings were found in the vehicle with the two teens, sources told ABC News.

About two hours before the shooting at the mosque, San Diego police received a call involving one of the suspects, about a runaway juvenile, according to Wahl. The teen’s mother reported that “several of her weapons” and her vehicle were missing, he said. The mother also found a note, Wahl said, the contents of which the police chief did not share.

The mother told police that her son was with another individual and that they were both “dressed in camo,” Wahl said.

Officers were attempting to track down the vehicle and dispatched police to a mall and to a school with which one of the teens was associated, when the shooting at the mosque was reported, he said.

The Islamic Center of San Diego says it is the largest mosque in San Diego County.

“We have never experienced a tragedy like this before,” Taha Hassan, Imam and Director of Islamic Center of San Diego, said of the center at a news conference.

Hassan said he’s sending “prayers and standing in solidarity with all the families in our community here, and also the other mosques, and all the places of worship in our beautiful city.”

“It is extremely outrageous to target a place of worship. Our Islamic center is a place of worship. People come to the Islamic center to pray, to celebrate, to learn, not only Muslims, but we have people from all walks of life,” Hassan added.

“The religious intolerance and the hate, unfortunately, that exists in our nation is unprecedented,” Hassan said.

“We strongly condemn this horrifying act of violence,” Tazheen Nizam, the executive director of the San Diego chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by this attack. No one should ever fear for their safety while attending prayers or studying at an elementary school.”

San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria told ABC News that “we immediately have increased patrols around religious sites, both our Muslim, Jewish and other faith communities across the city. And I imagine we’ll maintain that posture for some time.”

“[I] believe that once the investigation is complete that that security guard will be credited with a tremendous saving of many, many lives, including many children, an absolute hero who sadly lost his life, but for whom we’re all grateful,” Gloria said.

“Hate has no home in San Diego. Islamophobia has no home in San Diego,” the mayor said during a press conference.

ABC News’ Meg Christie, Luke Barr, Mike Levine and Alex Stone contributed to this report.

(LONDON) — Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Beijing on Tuesday ahead of talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Putin was welcomed by Chinese officials, including Foreign Minister Wang Yi, upon landing late Tuesday local time at an airport in Beijing.

On Wednesday, talks between Putin and Xi are set to occur at the Grand Hall of the People, followed by a formal reception, according to the Kremlin.

The two leaders “will discuss China-Russia relations, cooperation in various fields and international and regional issues of mutual interest,” the spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The state visit marks Putin’s 25th trip to China, according to the spokesperson.

The visit comes after last week’s high-stakes, multi-day summit between Xi and President Donald Trump in Beijing.

The two discussed the U.S. war in Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, fentanyl and increasing Chinese purchases of American farm products, according to a White House official.

Xi also warned that if the issue of Taiwan is handled “improperly,” the two nations could “come into conflict,” according to China’s official state broadcaster Xinhua.

A spinoff of Grey’s Anatomy is headed to ABC.

The network has ordered a currently untitled Grey’s Anatomy spinoff series set in Texas for the 2026-27 season, ABC Audio has confirmed.

The new series is described as “an edgy drama about a team at a West Texas rural medical center — the last chance for care before miles of nowhere,” according to its official logline.

ABC has given the one-hour drama a straight to series order. It is co-created by Shonda Rhimes and Meg Marinis. The pair also executive produce the show alongside Betsy Beers and the original show’s star, Ellen Pompeo. The new spinoff series is produced by Shondaland and 20th Television.

“I am incredibly excited to expand the Grey’s Anatomy universe. This opportunity will bring new characters and stories to life that will embody the same heart, emotion and connection audiences have loved from Grey’s for more than two decades — all set in my home state of Texas,” Marinis said. “I am so grateful to Shonda Rhimes for creating this dynamic world and feel so fortunate that I get to be a part of it.”

Sources tell ABC Audio that Netflix is, and continues to be, the home of Shondaland. This new ABC show gives Marinis and Rhimes the opportunity to continue telling stories from the Grey’s Anatomy universe, and to honor the original show’s legacy and its loyal fans.

The upcoming TV season marks the second year in a row that ABC is set to increase its scripted slate, which includes the 23rd season of the original Grey’s Anatomy.

Disney is the parent company of ABC and ABC News.

Seems like everybody and their mother has a podcast these days, so why shouldn’t a chart-topping pop group?

Jonas Brothers have launched Hey Jonas!, a new podcast that’s available on YouTube and wherever you get your podcasts. An episode that runs about 13 minutes is available now; the first “official” episode will debut on Wednesday, according to a press release.

The pod will “give fans an inside look at the chaos, laughs and real-life moments of brotherhood through candid, unfiltered conversations about family, touring, personal moments fans rarely see and everything in between,” according to a release. In addition to Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas, the pod will include guests like friends, family members and others in the group’s circle.

Plus, there’s an interactive feature: You can call 1-84-HEYJONAS — 1-844-395-6627 — and ask the brothers questions, which they will then answer during the show.

Also on Wednesday, the brothers will launch a run of shows at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas; they’ll play there through Sunday, then they’ll have a break from the road until August. Nick’s latest movie, Power Ballad, arrives in theaters on June 4.
