NPR’s Tiny Desk is back with another Black Music Month performance, this time from R&B star Joe Thomas.
He performed songs “Good Girls,” “Faded Pictures” with Case, “More & More,” “The Love Scene,” “All the Things (Your Man Won’t Do)” and “I Wanna Know,” with vocal assistance from background singers, including his daughter Kayla Thomas.
Other artists scheduled to appear in June are Eve, 8 Ball & MJG, Shaboozey and Bow Wow.
Even if you can’t be at the Grand Ole Opry for the 15th anniversary of Scotty McCreery’s debut on Thursday, you can catch up with him live backstage.
The “Bottle Rockets” hitmaker will perform and answer fan questions starting at 8 p.m. ET on TalkShopLive.

A week after the kickoff of CMA Fest 2026, Russell Dickerson’s still living in the afterglow.
“THAT WAS THE BEST CMA FEST OF MY LIFE!!!!” he posted on his socials Wednesday, along with a photo of Fetty Wap.
The rap icon surprised fans onstage with Russell during the final performance at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium on Sunday.
Russell started his set with mainstay hits “Blue Tacoma” and “Yours” before doing his current hit, “Worth Your Wild.” That’s when Fetty appeared onstage to do the pair’s new collab, “Boots,” before the two segued into his classic “Trap Queen.”
Earlier, Russell kicked off CMA Fest with a Riverfront Stage performance, an Artist of the Day gig at Fan Fair X and the Blue Tacomies Fan Club Party.
You’ll have a chance to check out part of Russell’s set during the annual CMA Fest special, which airs Thursday, June 25, on ABC and premieres the next day on Hulu.

Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings: Ultimate Collection (Edsel)
A new box set dedicated to former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman’s ’90s-era blues rock band, Rhythm Kings, is getting an October release.
The set, Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings: Ultimate Collection, is made up 144 songs and includes the group’s five studio albums — 1997’s Strutin’ Our Stuff, 1998’s Anyway the Wind Blows, 2000’s Groovin’, 2001’s two-LP set Double Bill and 2004’s Just For a Thrill.
It also includes two live albums — 2005’s Live, recorded in Germany in 2004, and 2011’s Live Communication, recorded in the U.K. in 2008 — as well as the 2018 collection Studio Time, which features outtakes from recording sessions that took place between 1987 and 2003.
There’s also a new Best of the Bootleg Kings compilation, featuring a set of live performances personally curated by Wyman, plus a 24-page booklet featuring photos from Wyman’s archives and a new interview with the rocker.

Hugh Laurie and Joe Alwyn have spied their latest project.
The two actors have joined the cast of Legacy of Spies, based on a combination of John le Carré’s 1963 bestseller The Spy Who Came in from the Cold and his 2017 novel A Legacy of Spies.
The eight-episode espionage drama follows the exploits of spymaster George Smiley, played by Matthew Macfadyen, and the British intelligence agency he works for called The Circus. Charlie Hunnam plays agent-runner and field operative Alec Leamas.
Laurie takes on the role of Control, Smiley’s morally gray superior at The Circus known only by his codename, while Alwyn joins as Jim Prideaux, a charismatic agent who tends to go rogue in the field.
Laurie previously starred in another le Carré adaptation, The Night Manager, opposite Tom Hiddleston.

Hypothetical Verzuz battles have been a topic of discussion since the competition first launched, and now CeeLo Green has revealed who he’d like to face if he ever stepped into the ring.
“I would probably have to go up against Lauryn, Lauryn Hill, but she’s like my sister,” he said while appearing on Rickey Smiley’s On the Spot podcast.
“But it would just be nothing but a love affair because we did our first tours together,” he said. “We’ve been friends for years, and she’s a Gemini twin just like me. So that’s my twin sister. But she does rap and sing at the same time, you know what I mean? Like, I think I would have to be paired up with somebody who has somewhat of the same dynamic.”
CeeLo also commented on the Tank and Tyrese Verzuz battle that took place in March, which Smiley said brought “so much joy” to viewers through both the music and friendly roasting between performances.
“And you know what it is? Because we only feel like we know them as far as the song can, you know, expose or allow us to see them,” CeeLo chimed in. “But to see them in real life—their charm, charisma, comedic timing, personalities, you know, it’s just so much more humanizing. That’s why it was so pleasant to see. Shouts out to Tank, shouts out to Tyrese. Both good friends of mine. Both talented leading men. Love them or love what they do.”

Stevie Nicks, Melissa Etheridge and Jackson Browne are confirmed to perform at the 2026 Music, Film and Entertainment Industry Spirit of Life Gala, put on by the cancer research and treatment organization City of Hope.
This year’s event, happening Oct. 27 at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles, will honor executive Larry Mestel, founder and CEO of Primary Wave Music.
City of Hope recently launched Mestel’s Spirit of Life campaign, which will raise money for City of Hope’s work in CAR T cell therapy and other cellular immunotherapies to help fight cancer. A portion of the money raised will also go toward breast cancer research and patient care.
“As a breast cancer survivor, this cause is deeply personal to me,” said Etheridge. “I know how critical research, compassionate care and breakthrough treatments are for patients and families facing cancer.”
She adds, “I’m honored to join City of Hope, Larry and this incredible community during Breast Cancer Awareness Month to help raise support for lifesaving research and bring more hope to people navigating this disease.”

Some new faces are clocking in for season 6 of Only Murders in the Building.
Bridgerton’s Simone Ashley, Absolutely Fabulous star Jennifer Saunders, and Bad Sisters star and creator Sharon Horgan are among the newly announced recurring guest stars for the Hulu whodunnit series.
Also guest starring in the new season are Heartstopper’s Rhea Norwood, Sean Teale, Amar Chadha-Patel and Matthew Beard.
The 10-episode sixth season of the Emmy-winning comedy series heads overseas for the first time as the crime-solving trio of Charles, Oliver and Mabel will be trading in New York City for London in order to solve a new mystery. It’s currently in production in the U.K.

Always focused on making money moves, Cardi B recently found herself surprised by a new discovery. She took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday to document her first-ever visit to Five Below.
“My daughter was so feened out to come to Five Below. I never been here before, but now I see why,” said Cardi, explaining she initially thought the retailer was similar to the 99-cent stores from her childhood.
She appeared to be surprised by the variety of products at Five Below, which she referred to as a “kids store,” holding up a Fruity Pebbles candy bar and later two graphic T-shirts.
“I never been to this b**** before. This ain’t nothing like the 99-cent store that I was used to,” she said, before settling on a Patrick Star T-shirt.
“I’m loving this,” Cardi said. “I been rich for too long, motherf******, because I ain’t know nothing about no Five Below.”
(LAGUNA BEACH, Calif.) — A search is underway for a girl who was swept away in the ocean in Southern California, officials said.
The incident unfolded at about 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday near Treasure Island Beach in Laguna Beach, city officials said. The girl was with her mother and a sibling near the shoreline when they were swept into the ocean by powerful water conditions, officials said.
Bystanders ran into the water and were able to rescue the mother and one of her children, but the other child remains missing, officials said.
The Coast Guard, the Laguna Beach Marine Safety Department and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Harbor Patrol are involved in the search, officials said.
