It sounds like we may one day see an ABBA-type hologram show devoted to the band Queen.
In the latest edition of Big Issue, Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor discuss whether they’d be open to continuing the band’s legacy with such a production. They seem open to the idea, with May noting that the band has “so many opportunities” to keep Queen and its music alive for fans.
“I mean things that are immersive, like The Sphere in Las Vegas, it will be possible to give people the experience very closely of what things were like for us when we were Freddie, John, Brian and Roger. And that really appeals to me,” he says, referring to their late frontman, Freddie Mercury, and drummer John Deacon, who retired in 1997.
“In our Queen shows for a very long time I’ve been doing ‘Love of My Life.’ And in the end, Freddie comes in and joins me as on video. It was just quite simply done, but it’s a way of involving Freddie, and I think we can basically take that a lot further,” May continues. “It wouldn’t be just playing old footage or whatever. It would be creating Queen as if we were creating it today.”
He adds, “I’m very taken with the idea that we can be the original Queen again.”
And while Taylor says he enjoyed the ABBA show, Voyages, he did have some issues with it, although that hasn’t turned him off to the idea.
“I didn’t find the actual projections that convincing,” he says of Voyages. “I do think technology now has come so much further since the ABBA show started, I think a lot more can be done.”

Oasis concluded their much-anticipated reunion tour Sunday in São Paulo, Brazil. As for what comes next for the “Wonderwall” outfit, they need to figure that out for themselves.
In a press release marking the end of the tour, Oasis says, “There will now be a pause for a period of reflection.”
Liam Gallagher seemed to suggest that Oasis was planning to keep the reunion going into 2026 when he declared “See you next year” during the band’s final show at London’s Wembley Stadium in September. However, he’s since clarified in a social media post that “we need to sit down and discuss these things” regarding the future of Oasis.
Whether or not Oasis will continue to tour in 2026 and beyond, it’s hard to call the 2025 tour anything but a rousing a success. The trek, which kicked off in July, saw Liam and his formerly estranged brother, Noel Gallagher, play sold-out stadiums around the world, 16 years after the band bitterly broke up in 2009.
“‘The most damaging pop cultural force in recent British history’ found its way into the hearts and minds of a new generation,” Oasis writes in the press release, referring to a quote from a Guardian article. “From Gallagher Hill [in Manchester, England] to the River Plate [in Buenos Aires, Argentina], from Croke Park [in Dublin, Ireland] on the banks of the Royal Canal to the City of Angels [Los Angeles], the love, joy, tears and euphoria will never be forgotten.”
Taylor Swift, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ orange metallic vinyl variant (Mert Alas & Marcus Piggot)
Just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be any more The Life of a Showgirl vinyl variants, Taylor Swift has dropped three more.
The new designs are only available until Tuesday at 11 a.m. ET. They include Lit My Sky Up orange metallic vinyl, Sequins Are Forever magenta glitter vinyl and Honestly Wild transparent vinyl with red glitter splatters.
As with all the previous vinyl variants, each LP comes with a double gatefold sleeve, a photo strip with a poem on the reverse, album lyrics and never-before-seen photos.
Meanwhile, The Life of a Showgirl is spending a seventh week atop the Billboard 200 album chart. If it can hold on one more week, it will tie Morgan Wallen‘s I’m the Problem as the only albums in 2025 to spend their first eight weeks at #1 on that chart.
Over on the Hot 100, Taylor’s song “The Fate of Ophelia” is on top for a seventh week, as well. It’s the first song to spend its first seven weeks at #1 on that chart since 2021, when K-pop group BTS did it with “Butter.”

(WASHINGTON) — Facing a 30-day deadline to release the Epstein files, the Department of Justice has asked two judges in the Southern District of New York to authorize the release of grand jury transcripts and exhibits from the prosecutions of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton – whom Attorney General Pam Bondi tapped to lead an investigation into prominent Democrats associated with Epstein – signed a motion asking the judges who oversaw the Epstein and Maxwell cases to approve the release of the grand jury materials, subject to the necessary redactions.
“In the light of the Act’s clear mandate, the Court should authorize the Department of Justice to release the grand jury transcripts and exhibits and modify any preexisting protective orders that would otherwise prevent public disclosure by the Government of materials the disclosure of which is required by the Act,” the motions said, referring to the Epstein Files Transparency Act, recently signed into law by President Trump.
While the motion noted that the law allows redactions to seal materials that “would jeopardize an active federal investigation or ongoing prosecution,” the filings did not mention the recently initiated investigation into Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, and Reid Hoffman ordered by Trump.
Citing the 30-day deadline, the Department of Justice requested an expedited ruling on the motion and said it would “work with the relevant United States Attorney’s Offices to make appropriate redactions of victim-related and other personal identifying information.”
The Department of Justice unsuccessfully sought approval to unseal the grand jury records in August, with both judges concluding that the government did not demonstrate a legal basis to release the materials. In one decision, U.S. District Judge Richard Berman sharply criticized the DOJ for asking the court to get involved when the government already had the relevant files in their possession.
“The instant grand jury motion appears to be a ‘diversion’ from the breadth and scope of the Epstein files in the Government’s possession. The grand jury testimony is merely a hearsay snippet of Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged conduct,” he wrote.
“The Government’s complete information trove would better inform the public about the Epstein case,” he added.

There comes a time … when “We Are the World” gets an upgrade in honor of its 40th anniversary.
The quintessential celebrity charity single is now available in Spatial Audio and high-resolution audio formats, along with an enhanced video version featuring stars ranging from Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel and Paul Simon to Diana Ross, Huey Lewis, Cyndi Lauper and Bob Dylan — as well as its co-writers, Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson.
“For me, ‘We Are the World’ is a gift that keeps on giving and is a powerful teaching tool for generations to come,” Lionel says in a statement. “When Michael and I wrote the song 40 years ago, we never imagined the power it would have then for the world. Having those talented artists walk through the studio door that night, band together to change the world will never be replicated.”
Upon its original 1985 release, “We Are the World” raised over $100 million for those affected by the Ethiopian famine. It also led to the founding of the nonprofit United Support of Artists for Africa, or USA for Africa. To date, more than 500 organizations in Africa have received grants from the charity, supporting programs that help women and children, as well as refugee recovery and other issues.

(HOUSTON, Texas) — An employee of a church in the Houston, Texas, area is charged with impersonating a public servant for allegedly pretending to be an ICE agent and threatening to deport a woman unless she paid him $500, according to court documents.
Donald Doolittle, 58, has served as the safety director of the Gateway Community Church of Webster, about 25 miles southeast of Houston, for 10 years, according to an affidavit filed with the Harris County District Court.
According to ABC Houston station KTRK, the alleged victim, identified in court documents as Rita Dumont Mayans, is a massage therapist.
According to a video of a Saturday court hearing obtained by ABC News, after receiving a massage last Thursday, Doolittle got into a disagreement with Mayans over his method of payment.
“And at that point, she said he pulled out an ID card labelled ‘ICE,’ stating he was an ICE agent who needs to see her ID,” a magistrate said during the hearing.
Mayans showed Doolittle her temporary visa, according to the magistrate, after which Doolittle allegedly demanded money from Mayans.
“He demanded she Zelle him $500 or he would take her away and she would never see her family or children again,” according to the magistrate.
Mayans sent Doolittle the money, after which he texted her that she would not hear from any other ICE agents, according to the magistrate.
Police learned of Doolittle’s alleged actions when Mayans encountered officers at a luncheon the following day, according to KTRK.
Doolittle’s bond is set at $10,000, according to court documents.
Neither Doolittle, his attorneys nor Gateway Community Church of Webster immediately responded to an ABC News request for comment.
