Tiwa Savage is ready to unlock talent back home in Africa. She’s launched the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation to help empower “the next generation of African creatives — through music, education, and opportunity,” according to the foundation’s website. The goal is to provide access to training, mentorship and other resources to aspiring musicians throughout Africa, especially those in underrepresented and underserved communities.

Its first initiative comes in the form of a partnership with Tiwa’s alma mater, Berklee College of Music. Berklee in Nigeria: Tiwa Savage Intensive Music Program is a four-day program, the first to bring Berklee’s wealth of knowledge to Lagos, Nigeria. It will give aspiring musicians in the city hands-on experience and resources in the music industry, as well as a chance to connect with leaders in the West African music marketplace. Students will learn about “the interconnection of all aspects of professional musicianship, including performance, songwriting, production, and music business,” according to the program’s description.

The Tiwa Savage Intensive Music Program will take place from April 23 to 26. Applications are open through March 20.

Sepultura has announced a new EP called The Cloud of Unknowing, which will mark the Brazilian metal band’s farewell release.

The four-track set is due out April 24. Its first single, called “The Place,” is out now.

“This song deals with immigrants who have come to a place seeking refuge and start a new life,” reads a post on Sepultura’s Facebook. “Once assimilated into a false sense of security and relentless propaganda they began to act out against what they hate about themselves.”

“The transition begins to escape from the self hatred and the lashing out against people who believed in the same ideas,” the post continues. “I feel the lyrics truly follow the transitions of the song. Starting with disappointment and arriving at anger.”

Sepultura announced in 2023 they were disbanding after a farewell tour. The final North American leg kicks off in April.

Rod Stewart and King Charles III are old pals, which is why this May Rod will be headlining a charity concert celebrating the 50th anniversary of one of Charles’ best-known charities, The King’s Trust.

Charles founded the charity, then known as The Prince’s Trust, in 1976 to help vulnerable people aged 11 to 30, many of whom are struggling with issues like mental health problems, disability, homelessness, unemployment or legal troubles. Now known as The King’s Trust, it helps these people develop essential life skills, train in various fields and access job opportunities.

On May 11, Rod and Jools Holland, his musical collaborator on his most recent album, Swing Fever, will take the stage at London’s Royal Albert Hall for the 50th anniversary benefit concert. Jools says to Rod in an Instagram video, “It’ll be an incredible evening, won’t it?” “It will,” agrees Rod. “If we’re there,” adds Jools. “Fifty years. Be there,” commands Rod.

Also on the bill are Rod’s best friend and former bandmate Ron Wood, as well as British pop stars Anne-Marie, Rita Ora and Craig David. Tickets are on sale now.

Having rock and pop stars perform to raise funds for the charity is nothing new for the trust. Starting in the ’80s, the Prince’s Trust concerts featured everyone from Phil Collins, Queen, Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton to Elton John, Paul McCartney, Tina Turner, George Harrison, the Bee Gees and, of course, Rod.

Watch out, Broadway! Megan Thee Stallion is set to make her debut. She’s joined the cast of Moulin Rouge! The Musical, becoming the first female-identifying person to take on the role of Zidler, impresario of the Moulin Rouge nightclub.

Meg will flex her acting skills at New York City’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre for eight weeks, starting March 24 and ending May 17. The musical will end its Broadway run on July 26.

“Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the Moulin Rouge! “Welcoming Megan Thee Stallion into the Moulin Rouge! The Musical community is a thrilling moment for us,” adds producer Carmen Pavlovic. “This historic casting is a major part of our closing celebrations: our farewell gift to Broadway audiences and one of our biggest announcements in the history of Moulin Rouge!
