T-Pain and Ne-Yo will be going head-to-head, and we’re not talking about on Verzuz. The two will compete as part of SZN Zero, the debut season of competitions in the Global Gaming League. GGL is a live-action gaming entertainment league for professional gamers, casual players and influencers.

Alongside three other players on their respective teams, Team Nappy Boy Grizzlies (T-Pain) and Gentleman’s Gaming Team (Ne-Yo) will face off in four rounds of video games covering various genres.

“Gaming is just as important as music or any other sport, to me” T-Pain, GGL’s director of strategy, said in a statement. “Ne-Yo had some words for me on socials, I heard enough of what he had to say and felt it was time to show him that I actually do this. But honestly I’m just ready to have some fun with my friend, because bottom line, that’s what gaming is all about.”

“Honestly, I was trying to connect with T-Pain to maybe be part of his team but when he kept blowing me off and then I saw that video of him talking about my lips, I decided the only way to get his attention would be to call him out,” Ne-Yo responded. “Now, we’ll see just how good he really is – or isn’t – when we go head to head.”

The SZN Zero launch event will take place in Las Vegas on Aug. 23.

Welsh rocker Dave Edmunds is on the mend after suffering a heart attack in July.

The news of the 81-year-old Edmunds’ condition was first revealed by his wife, Cici Edmunds, in a July Facebook post. She revealed he suffered “a major cardiac arrest” and “died in her arms,” but was revived by doctors.

Cici has now confirmed that Edmunds is doing better. She shared a post that first appeared on Carlene Carter’s Facebook that read, “Dave is expected to make a full recovery and be out of the hospital soon!” Carlene added, “Some really great news we all have been waiting for.”

Cici added the caption, “Bless you sweet beautiful Carlene for sharing the positive news regarding my amazing husbands miraculous recovery.”

Edmunds is best known for his 1970 cover of “I Hear You Knocking,” which peaked at #4 in the U.S. He also co-founded the 1970s band Rockpile with Nick Lowe, and released several solo albums. He worked as a producer with artists like Lowe, Paul McCartney, Stray Cats and more, and toured with Ringo Starr as a member of his All-Starr Band.

Mgk says people hating on him is so ‘cliché’: ‘That’s automatically what you say to fit in’

Mgk launched his music career almost 20 years ago and has a new album, Lost Americana, coming out on Friday. It’s not a bad track record for someone who, if you listen to online talk, seems to be universally hated. But the singer tells People that at this point, the hate is — just like the title of his current single — a “cliché.”

“I became so hated for, what has become apparent to me, no reason … just because I artistically express myself, through fashion, music, whatever — because I choose to not stay contained into a societal box,” he tells People. “The hate for me has become so pop culture that it’s almost like that’s automatically what you say to fit in.”

“I’ve realized they’re the conformists — you don’t even hate me for a reason that you can actually think of because all I do is entertain, and entertainment can’t be that serious.”

Mgk also believes that most of his haters are men.

“I think men let their insecurity rule their entirety,” he says. “I think to them, they’re like, ‘He’s supposed to be like this, because this is this carnal, archaic way of what men are…’ I’m like, ‘Look, we can be protectors, and all these other things that we’re supposed to be, and also be expressive and vulnerable and emotional, and we can dress how we want, look how we want.'”

Mgk hopes the new album might change people’s opinions of him.

“Maybe this time they’ll get to know the man-slash-broken-boy behind the moniker MGK,” he tells People. “Vulnerability is how I was able to hold on to the fan base I’ve had for so many years. The human behind the music has to show the human side.”

Offset will get personal on his upcoming album, but he won’t include shots toward his estranged wife, Cardi B. During his appearance on The Joe Budden Podcast, he said the project is a form of therapy rather than a way to clap at someone.

“The shots? I ain’t doing that. I might speak on life situations, but I’m not doing that,” he said. “That ain’t the way to do it.”

“There’s too much involved, family, kids. That s*** gonna be lame 10 years from now,” he continued. “I ain’t on that, but I’ll be expressing some feelings of how I feel about certain things.”

Offset was also asked about his opinion of Cardi B’s song “Outside,” and he revealed that he had prior knowledge of the track.

“I actually knew about the song before the song came out, like prior to the bulls*** that was happening. If it is stuff at me … everything is a timing thing,” he said. “That record’s been done. I know about the record. It look like how it look.”

After nearly seven years of marriage, Cardi B filed for divorce from Offset in the summer of 2024. She’s now reportedly dating NFL player Stefon Diggs.

Kiari is set to arrive on Aug. 22.

John Mayer is sharing his feelings about getting to be a part of Dead & Company’s recent three-night stand at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Grateful Dead.

“No matter how many shows we play as a band, I will always be a guest in this musical world, and I’ll never lose sight of what is the great honor of my life,” he writes on Instagram. “Happy 60th, Grateful Dead, and long may you run.”

While Mayer says that he’ll “never come close to playing” like the band’s late singer/co-founder Jerry Garcia, he tells fans, “if I can somehow get you closer to him – and to the spirit he created 60 years ago – then I suppose I’ve done my job. Thank you for accepting me.”

The three Dead & Company shows took place Aug. 1, 2 and 3 and featured guest appearances by Phish’s Trey Anastasio and Phil Lesh‘s son Grahame Lesh, as well as Billy Strings and Sturgill Simpson.

Jack Osbourne shares tribute to dad Ozzy Osbourne: ‘He lived — and he lived fully’

Ozzy Osbourne‘s son Jack Osbourne has shared a tribute to his late father.

“I haven’t really wanted to post anything since the passing of my father,” Jack writes. “My heart has hurt too much. I’ll keep this short because he hated long, rambling speeches.”

“He was so many things to so many people, but I was lucky and blessed to be part of a very small group who got to call him ‘Dad,'” the younger Osbourne continues. “My heart is heavy with sadness and sorrow, but also full of love and gratitude. I got 14,501 days with that man, and I know what a blessing that is.”

Jack remembers some of those 14,501 days in an accompanying video titled “Some memories of my father,” which features home video footage of him growing up with Ozzy, as well as more recent film of the “Iron Man” rocker spending time with his grandchildren. You can watch the video, which is set to the Ozzy solo song “So Tired,” streaming now on YouTube.

Jack concludes his statement with a quote from late writer Hunter S. Thompson, which he feels “best describes” his dad: “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body … but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, ‘Wow! What a ride!'”

“That was my dad,” Jack writes. “He lived — and he lived fully. I love you Dad.”

Ozzy died July 22 at age 76. He’d just played his final show with his original Black Sabbath bandmates at the Back to the Beginning concert on July 5.
