Queen’s Roger Taylor is set to release the new solo album, Violence Insane in a Beautiful World, on Sept. 18. The record is his seventh solo album, and his first since 2021’s Outsider.

“There is a theme, you know, it’s in the title really, what a beautiful world we live in, don’t f*** it up,” Taylor says of the record. “There seems to be all this insanity at the moment. The violence in the world seems to be as bad as it ever was, at any point, and certainly in my lifetime. It’s just horrific, a lot of insane violence. And we do seem to be f***** up the world, plastics in the sea, you know, and all these awful wars everywhere and hatred born of different religions.”

Despite that, Taylor notes, “It’s a beautiful world, you know. And kindness is very important, I think, it seems to be forgotten quite a lot. So, that is basically the sort of underlying theme.”

Taylor offers up the first preview of the record with the release of the single “Come On Summer (It’s Time To Party)” featuring The Ndlovu Youth Choir from Limpopo, South Africa. It is available now via digital outlets.

Taylor has also announced a set of U.K. tour dates in support of the album. It begins Sept. 21 in Newcastle, with stops in Edinburgh, Birmingham, Manchester, Swansea and London. A complete list of dates and ticket information can be found at rogertaylorofficial.com.

The Eagles released their fourth studio album, One Of These Nights, which is widely regarded as their commercial breakthrough.

The album featured three top-10 hits: the title track, which became the band’s second #1 single; Lyin’ Eyes”; and “Take It to the Limit,” featuring Randy Meisner on lead vocals.

The record became the Eagels’ first #1 album on the Billboard 200 and went on to be certified four-times Platinum.

Taylor Swift is sharing new details about the inspiration for “I Knew It, I Knew You,” her original song for Toy Story 5.

Swift said in a new interview with ABC News that she was inspired by the journey of Jessie, the beloved cowgirl ragdoll in the animated movie franchise.

“We have seen her go through such heartbreak and such, you know, triumphs and loss and we learned her back story,” Swift said in an interview that aired Wednesday on Good Morning America. “But in Toy Story 5, we see such a character development and, really, lessons that I could relate to as she’s grown up and as she has learned more about her experiences and her memories.”

The singer continued, “Just the feeling that, like, sometimes people’s paths diverge, and that doesn’t mean that that’s the last time that you get to feel those memories or know that person.”

When the song was released on June 5, Swift revealed that she collaborated on it with singer-songwriter and producer Jack Antonoff. She shared on social media that they wrote the song with “adoration” for the Toy Story characters that were staples of their childhoods.

Swift performed “I Knew It, I Knew You,” for the first time live at the Toy Story 5 world premiere Tuesday night in Los Angeles. She also performed “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” alongside Randy Newman, the man who wrote and sang Toy Story‘s signature tune.

Toy Story 5, a Disney and Pixar film, is scheduled to premiere in theaters on Friday, June 19. Swift posed at the film’s premiere with its stars, including Joan Cusack, who voices Jessie on the big screen.

The 14-time Grammy winner said that as a longtime Toy Story fan herself, it was a “poignant” moment for her to pen and perform a song for the movie’s latest release.

“I watched Toy Story when I was 5 and I’ve watched every single one of the films so many times,” she said. “So I really think that, like, to be able to be welcomed into something that has welcomed me, unknowingly, its entire existence, just as a fan, feels like very poignant for me and for my family.”

Why HARDY’s hangover cure is always with him on the road

Why HARDY’s hangover cure is always with him on the road
HARDY (Disney/Randy Holmes)

What’s HARDY’s biggest source of fun on the road? (Besides the fans, of course.) Well, the “Favorite Country Song” hitmaker says all you have to do is look behind him for the answer.

“The band is awesome,” he says. “I have two guitar players and a drummer and, man, they are all unique in their own way. And I have such a great relationship with my guys.”

“We’ve been through a lot,” he continues, “and we’ve had to have, like, sometimes, like, difficult conversations and things like that, but they always resolve, and I think that just builds for, like, a really strong relationship. So I can’t say enough about how great my band is onstage and off.”

To hear HARDY talk about it, you’d think they can even cure a hangover.

“My favorite thing to do on tour, outside of playing the show, is literally — let’s just say we tied one on the night before,” he begins. “And my favorite thing to do is get off of my bus and go get on the band bus and just sit around and shoot the s*** with them for hours and we just laugh. We make jokes and it’s the favorite part of my day.”

HARDY happens to have enough guys to form a superstar band with him on his latest hit. Eric Church, Morgan Wallen and Tim McGraw all join him on the top-20 hit “McArthur.”

If you’re worried that Sam Mendes’ four Beatles films may get a bit repetitive, one of the actors in those films is here to ease your mind.

Adam Pally, who plays controversial music exec and one-time Beatles manager Allen Klein in the films, reveals in a new interview with The Direct that each film will be unique.

When asked to explain how different he thinks the films will be, Pally was careful with his answer, but did offer some insight.

“I will try to answer in the most allowed way possible, but I would say that they are totally different,” he said. “The way The Beatles were individually, totally different, and the movies reflect each Beatles’ tone, in a way.”

“So, they all go together beautifully, and then they also are all individually perfect in that way, you know?” he added.

The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event is set to open in April 2028. It stars Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr.

The Sony films will mark the first time Apple Corps Ltd. and The Beatles have granted a studio the rights to the life stories of band members and their legendary catalog of music.

Following Taylor Swift and Bad Bunny, Tyla is the latest Grammy-winning artist to be involved with Toy Story 5. Like Bad Bunny, she’s voicing a character in the film, but only in a certain part of the world.

Disney Africa‘s Instagram account announced that Tyla will play Inflatable Flamingo in the sub-Saharan version of the film, which will be seen in select African countries, including Tyla’s home of South Africa.

In a YouTube video that shows her recording her part, Tyla says of being involved in the franchise, “I just couldn’t believe that the offer was even presented to me. … I just grew up watching Toy Story — it’s such a big movie in my family. My parents love it, my whole family loves it. … So the fact that now we get to watch it and hear a little bit of my voice in it is insane.”

“I just remember growing up watching it, and trying to peek through a door to see if my toys actually moved,” she recalls.

Meanwhile, Taylor has contributed the song “I Knew It, I Knew You” to the soundtrack, while Bad Bunny will voice a character called Pizza with Sunglasses.

‘Just Pretend’ Soundgarden’s Matt Cameron is a metalcore drummer and watch him play along to Bad Omens

If Soundgarden’s Matt Cameron is looking to pivot musical styles following his departure from Pearl Jam, we think he’d make a pretty good metalcore drummer.

We say that after watching the grunge icon rock out to Bad Omens in the latest edition of Drumeo‘s “For the First Time” series.

As part of the YouTube channel’s challenge, drummers are tasked with coming up with their own part to a song they’ve never heard before while playing along to a drumless version of the track. For Cameron, Drumeo chose the Bad Omens song “Just Pretend,” which, despite hitting #1 on both the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay and Alternative Airplay charts, was completely new to him.

After a few takes, Cameron delivered a final “Just Pretend” performance that included some of his signature tom grooves that will be familiar to any Soundgarden fans.

“Bad Omens f****** rules,” Cameron declared after learning the identity of the band. “It’s a good song, man.”

At the end of the video, Drumeo showed Bad Omens drummer Nick Folio reacting to Cameron’s rendition.

“Wow, excellent job, Matt, that was awesome,” Folio responded.

Cameron announced his departure from Pearl Jam in 2025, ending his 27-year tenure with the “Even Flow” rockers. He later clarified that he’s “still an active musician” and will be performing at Tom Morello’s Power to the People festival in October.

Pearl Jam, meanwhile, is set to reveal their new drummer during their headlining set at Eddie Vedder’s Ohana Festival in September.

As for Bad Omens, you can catch them headlining Ohio’s Inkcarceration festival in July.
