When The Strokes announced a U.S. tour in April, the schedule didn’t include a stop in the band’s hometown of New York City. Now, that oversight has been rectified.

Julian Casablancas and company will headline Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York, on Oct. 2. The bill will also include fellow NYC indie staple TV on the Radio, as well as Beach House and Fcukers.

You can register now for a presale happening June 17 at 10 a.m. ET. Tickets go on sale to the general public on June 18 at 10 a.m. ET.

For all ticket info, visit NYC.TheStrokes.com.

The Strokes’ tour launches Friday with a set at Bonnaroo. They’ll be supporting their upcoming album, Reality Awaits, due out June 26.

If you attend any of the shows, you may not see guitarist Nick Valensi onstage. The Strokes announced in May that Valensi was “taking a temporary break” from touring.

On This Day, June 11, 1988 …

Sting, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton and Dire Straits were among the artists who performed at the 70th birthday tribute concert for anti-apartheid revolutionary Nelson Mandela.

The concert took place at London’s Wembley Stadium and also featured performances by Simple Minds, Joe Cocker, Bryan Adams, Peter Gabriel, Steven Van Zandt, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Tracy Chapman, George Michael, Eurythmics and more.

The concert was broadcast to over 60 countries, with an estimated 600 million people tuning in.

Mandela was still imprisoned in South Africa at the time of the concert. He was later released in February 1990. A second concert celebrating his release, Nelson Mandela: An International Tribute for a Free South Africa, took place at Wembley in April 1990.

It turns out Olivia Rodrigo’s love of rock music runs in the family.

The “drivers license” star, who’s long expressed her love for bands including The White Stripes, Weezer and The Cure, said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday that her mom skipped her headlining set at Lollapalooza to see Korn instead.

“My mom likes like so many crazy metal bands,” Rodrigo told Jimmy Kimmel.

When Rodrigo headlined Lolla in 2025, her set was in direct conflict with Korn’s, which was happening at the same time on another stage at a different end of the festival. At first, Rodrigo thought that was a smart scheduling decision, since she figured the middle of the Venn diagram between Livies and “Freak on a Leash” fans was probably pretty small.

“Everyone’s, like, ‘Oh, that’s perfect!'” Rodrigo said. “The Olivia fans will see go see Olivia, the Korn fans will go see Korn, there’s really no overlap.”

“But there was one overlap,” she continued. “It was my mom. My mom, my mom skipped my show to go see Korn.”

Rodrigo added that she gave her blessing for her mom to go headbang to “Blind” instead of watching her own daughter headline Lollapalooza.

“I’m happy she got her night,” Rodrigo said.

Now we need to know what Rodrigo’s mom thinks of the new Korn single, “Reward the Scars.”

Taylor Swift was one of the many lucky celebrities who got to witness the Knicks’ historic comeback during Game 4 of the NBA Finals at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night — and she brought her celebrity pals with her.

Taylor and Mariska Hargitay, who appeared in Taylor’s video for “Bad Blood,” sat next to each other at the game wearing matching t-shirts that read “Stevie Knicks,” with a K.

Taylor’s friends Alana and Este Haim of the band Haim were also there, wearing different punning t-shirts: Alana’s read “Knickelback” with a K, while Este’s read, “Knicole Kidman” with a K.

Taylor’s other connection with Mariska Hargitay is that her Law & Order: Special Victims Unit character inspired the name of Taylor’s cat, Olivia Benson.

Taylor flew from LA, where she’d attended the Toy Story 5 premiere Tuesday night, to attend the game. She’ll be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame Thursday night, along with Alanis Morissette, KISS and Kenny Loggins, among others.

Could “Choosin’ Texas” be the most unstoppable country song of all time?

The hit co-written by Ella Langley and Miranda Lambert topped both the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 and Country Airplay way back on Valentine’s Day.

Since then, it’s gone on to spend 10 nonconsecutive weeks at #1.

“We loved the song when we wrote it,” Ella recalls. “It was the song that I think me and Miranda clicked on where it was like, ‘Alright, we’re gonna work together in a bigger way.’ But did we think it could do something like this? I don’t know if you can predict that.”

“No, absolutely not,” Miranda answers. “My favorite thing about it is it’s a country song and it was universal. And the music that we love got a big shot in the world, and that makes me happy.”

“It just really [opened] a platform for a great country song and true country songwriters to have like this moment that doesn’t happen that often,” she adds.

Miranda went on to co-produce Ella’s sophomore album, Dandelion. Here’s to staying power: “Choosin’ Texas” remains at #2 after 33 weeks on the Hot 100. Its follow-up, “Be Her,” is #4. “I Can’t Love You Anymore” is #9.

While most guitarists likely don’t have the talent of Rush’s Alex Lifeson, they now have a chance to at least sound a little bit like him.

The rocker has teamed with Epiphone for a new guitar, part of the Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom series.

The new Alex Lifeson 1976 ES-355 Reissue is modeled after Lifeson’s well-known 1976 ES-355 guitar. The description notes that the axe captures “Alex’s unmistakable tone, as well as the refined feel and innovative spirit that have fueled Rush’s groundbreaking music for decades.”

The guitar comes in Alpine white with gold accents and has a three-piece maple neck similar to the construction of Lifeson’s original instrument. It comes in a black case with a red interior and features a reproduction of Lifeson’s signature.

“The ES-355 has always been a really special guitar for me—it’s got this incredible balance of elegance and power,” says Lifeson. “What I love about this Epiphone ‘Whitey’ recreation is how faithfully it captures that original spirit while still feeling fresh and alive in your hands.”

“It’s a guitar that invites you to explore, to take chances, and to find your own voice,” he adds. “I’m genuinely thrilled that players everywhere will have the chance to experience it and make it part of their own musical journey.”

The Alex Lifeson 1976 ES-355 Reissue is available at authorized Epiphone dealers, Gibson Garage locations and online at ephiphone.com.

Lifeson is currently back onstage with Rush on their Fifty Something tour. They play their third night at the KIA Forum in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Noah Kahan will kick off The Great Divide Tour with opening act Gigi Perez on Thursday in Orlando, Florida, and he says fans should expect an “insane” show.

“We’ve been rehearsing, it sounds awesome. I’m really excited,” Noah told ABC Audio in April, hours before the new album dropped. “It’s a whole new show, the production is insane … we added a new band member … it just sounds so good. I’m so excited.”

In terms of the setlist, Noah said he won’t forget all the songs that fans have loved from him in the past.

“We have a lot of new music in there, but we’re definitely making sure that we keep people happy with older songs,” he told ABC Audio. “And I know how big of a part of my career Stick Season was, so we’re honoring that for sure, but also playing a lot of the new songs. It flows together very well.”

And fans can also take comfort in the fact that, in putting together the setlist, Noah will likely have taken into account which songs on The Great Divide they’ve been most enthusiastic about.

As he told ABC Audio in April, “I’m also excited to hear what people really connect to in the album, to decide what we should play.”

The North American leg of Noah’s world tour is completely sold out, including four shows at Boston’s Fenway Park. He’s the first artist ever to sell out four nights at that iconic venue. The North American leg wraps Aug. 31 in Seattle; in September, he kicks off the overseas leg in Australia and New Zealand. He then heads to the U.K. and Europe, finishing in Paris in December.

Evanescence will hit the road Thursday in West Palm Beach, Florida, on a tour in support of the band’s new album, Sanctuary. As Amy Lee tells ABC Audio, fans attending the trek can expect “the biggest show we’ve ever had.”

“It’s a lot of fun, it’s a lot of work,” Lee says. “We have a lot of new songs to learn. We’re playing pretty much the whole new album, along with lots of other songs. It’s gonna be probably our longest set.”

Whatever songs she’s singing, Lee’s main goal with the tour is to “make people happy.”

“I wanna bring some good to this time,” Lee says. “Give people a place of release, to fill up, to charge up, spiritually, emotionally, and feel empowered when they walk away.”

“We’re just trying to make something really good,” she adds. “I think we are. I’m very excited.”

Lee’s recruited a bunch of friends to help spread that joy, including Spiritbox and Poppy, who are opening the tour’s U.S. and European legs, respectively. Both Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante and Poppy sang with Lee on their collaborative 2025 hit, “End of You,” though the trio won’t all be on the same bill together for any of the Evanescence shows.

Still, Lee teases she’ll be sharing a special moment with her openers onstage.

“I wish I had Courtney and Poppy on the same show so we could do, like, an epic ‘End of You’ moment,” Lee laughs. “That hasn’t quite worked out, but we’ll definitely be doing something together.”

Sanctuary is out now. It includes the singles “Who Will You Follow” and “Afterlife.”

Harry Styles and Zoë Kravitz have never discussed their alleged relationship publicly, but they must be pretty close because they’ve evidently gotten matching tattoos.

On Wednesday British Vogue posted a photo of a woman’s tattooed back, teasing that she’s the mag’s July 2026 cover star. From the tattoos, fans identified the woman as Zoë, but also noticed that one of her tattoos consists of the words “LET IT RIP.”

That led fans to crash out over the fact that Harry has seemingly gotten the same tattoo. A photo of him onstage during his Together, Together tour shows the words “LET IT RIP” on his right arm.

Fans believe the phrase “LET IT RIP” is from the TV series The Bear. In the show, the main character’s late brother leaves him a letter that reads, “I love you, dude. Let it rip.”

The current rumor is that Harry and Zoë are engaged. While that hasn’t been confirmed, Zoë was spotted wearing what looks like a large diamond engagement ring.

A trailer for Fightland, an upcoming family crime drama on Starz, has been released.

The show, which a press release describes as “a gripping story of redemption, betrayal and brutal ambition – in and out of the ring,” is set against the backdrop of London and centered on heavyweight championship boxer Duke Kilroy.

After his brother is brutally assaulted, Duke is consumed by the aftermath and ultimately serves an eight-year prison sentence. Upon his release, he sets out to exact revenge on the man responsible, according to the release.

“Amidst a volatile criminal landscape and competing influences threatening to pull him off course, Duke will need to channel everything that made him a champion fighter into his bloody pursuit to win the ultimate victory — revenge for his brother,” the series synopsis says.

Fightland stars Howard Charles, Nicholas Pinnock, Deborah Ayorinde, Anita-Joy Uwajeh, Charles Babalola, Tahirah Sharif, Tyler Conti and Richard Pepple. It is the first wholly owned original series for Starz, and the first internationally produced show from 50 Cent and G-Unit Film & Television.
