Despite the recent tragedy in her personal life, Songs & Stories with Kelly Clarkson is set to premiere Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET on NBC. In a preview clip, you can watch Kelly and the Jonas Brothers sing together and talk about sharing a bill back in 2005.

Kelly sits down with Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas for the first episode of the interview series. In the preview, Kelly recalls finding out that the brothers had name-checked her in their remake of the Busted song “Year 3000.” Busted sang in the original, “Everybody bought our seventh album/ It had outsold Michael Jackson.” When JoBros recorded it, they changed the lyric to, “It had outsold Kelly Clarkson.”

“It was in a meet and greet and somebody [said], ‘Did you hear the Jonas Brothers song?’ And I was like, ‘What, no.’ And they were like ‘They say your name!’ And I was like ‘What?'” Kelly recalls in the preview clip. “I was like, ‘That’s so cool! To be referenced in any way in pop culture — I love it.'”

Nick then recalls that in 2005 one of their first festival appearances was in Tom’s River, New Jersey, and Kelly was headlining. He laughed, “For years, as a way to get our foot in the door in interviews, we’re, ‘Yeah, we opened for Kelly Clarkson.’ We were not an opener. We were like in the parking lot on like a B-B-B-C stage.”

Kelly suggests that they all sing “Year 3000” together, adding, “I just wanna yell my name!” They all launch into an acoustic version of that part of the song and indeed, she stands up and yells, “Kelly Clarkson!”

Paul Wall and Gracie reunited in Houston Sunday at the Gracie’s Global Adventure Tour. “I wanna send big love and thanks to Gracie’s Corner for bringing me out for her 2 concerts in Houston, Texas today,” Paul wrote. “We had such a GREAT time! Her and her team put on an amazing show!” Paul and Gracie previously collaborated on Gracie’s Corner for the “Wheels on the Bus H-Town Remix.”

Tamika of Xscape gave her waiter a $700 tip after being ignored by other waitresses at The Juicy Crab in Buford, Georgia. “It was like five or six waitresses and four of them turned their backs,” she said on Instagram. “No one helped us and we stood there for five minutes.” Tamika says she eventually got help from a waitress and decided to tip her $700 for her kindness. “Never judge a book by its cover,” said Tamika. “Be patient because you never know when you’ll be blessed.”

PETA France wants Pharrell Williams’ Legion of Honor to be revoked, arguing that as creative director of Louis Vuitton he’s profited off the suffering of animals. “Williams is fully aware of the brand’s cruel legacy [which includes] animals being bludgeoned, skinned alive, and confined in concrete pits and wire cages,” says Mimi Bekhechi, PETA’s vice president for Europe, in a press release. “A title that celebrates honor should not be bestowed upon someone who prioritizes image over integrity. We urge you to reconsider this award.” PETA listed findings from an investigation supporting their statement and asked LV to follow in the footsteps of Chanel, Burberry, Balenciaga and Victoria Beckham, who have stopped using fur and exotic skins.

Luke Bryan claims the 32nd #1 of his career as “Country Song Came On” tops the Aug. 18 Mediabase chart.

“WOW #32! I love standing on that stage for country fans more than ever,” he says. “Thank you for showing up for me.”

“When I first heard this song, it took me right back to the clubs and honky-tonks I played before I got to Nashville,” he adds. “I love how the writers kept the simplicity in the track and let the lyric paint the story.”

Luke’s Country Song Came On Tour continues into the fall, wrapping Oct. 6 in Biloxi, Mississippi. His next performance takes place at Wednesday’s 18th ACM Honors at The Pinnacle in Nashville.

Luke scored his most recent #1 with “Love You, Miss You, Mean It” in October 2024 and his first in December 2009 with “Do I,” which he co-wrote with Lady A‘s Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley.

A Justin Bieber lookalike has been banned from a Las Vegas nightclub after managing to convince the patrons and the deejay at the venue that he was the real thing.

The trickster, later identified as Dylan Desclos, a known Bieber impersonator, took the stage at the XS Nightclub at the Wynn on Aug. 16. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, he showed up with his “team,” who informed the DJ, Gryffin, that he wanted to perform. Gryffn enthusiastically told the crowd, “Bieber in the house, y’all!” and the faux Biebs got onstage and sang Justin’s hit “Sorry.”

According to the paper, Gryffin was tricked because the venue is dark and loud, and Desclos has the same tattoos as the real Bieber, as well as a buzzcut, which is how Justin is wearing his hair these days. However, as Gryffin documented on social media, he was soon told that the performer was “a complete fake.”

In his Instagram post, Gryffin is seen saying, “I literally thought, he put on a lot of weight since the album dropped.”

As per the Review Journal, a Wynn spokesperson said in a statement, “After an elaborate and multi-step ruse by him and his advance team, a Justin Bieber impersonator was granted access to the XS stage. As soon as the error was recognized, he was removed from the resort and denied future entry.”

Even though Scotty McCreery‘s son won’t be 3 until October, it’s likely an understatement that Avery McCreery is already following in his dad’s footsteps.

“He loves the road. He’s got his own bunk on the bus,” Scotty tells ABC Audio. “We leave some toys on the bus that never go home so he can look forward to it. But he loves the music.”

“He loves what I do,” he adds. “He’s like, ‘Man, did you see Spence play guitar?’ ‘Cause that’s my guitar player. ‘Joey was crushing the drums!’ He just loves the music.”

It’s probably safe to say Avery will one day be working with his dad.

“You know, I think he’s already a roadie at heart, you know, but, we’ll put him to work for sure,” Scotty says. “He loves all things music, the shows, and he’s a good hype man. You’ll get off the stage and he’s like, ‘Good show!'”

Scotty has two dates in his home state of North Carolina, in Barco and Kenansville, respectively, on Thursday and Friday.

Meanwhile, Scotty and his wife, Gabi McCreery, are expecting their second child this fall.

Devo has been nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame three times — in 2018, 2021 and 2022 — but has yet to be chosen for induction. But not being selected for the prestigious institution isn’t about to stop the band’s co-founder and lead vocalist Mark Mothersbaugh.

In a new interview with New York Magazine’s Vulture column, Mothersbaugh says he has an “alternative plan” should the band never get selected for the Rock Hall, which is located in Cleveland.

“I’m looking to buy a piece of the parking lot, like maybe one parking space adjacent to the museum,” he tells the mag. “In Ohio, they have very lax laws on where you can bury remains. I was thinking I would transfer all of Devo’s remains to that one parking spot. We’d just dig down underneath it and bury everybody.”

“So if we weren’t in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, we could be adjacent to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. That would take some of the pressure off,” he adds. “And you could still park on top of us; we don’t mind. If you help us get the parking spot right next to the Rock Hall, I’ll make sure you get a free parking permit whenever you’re there.”

But until then, Devo has several shows on their calendar for 2025. Up next, they are set to open for My Chemical Romance in Chicago on Aug. 29. They will then play the Shaky Knees festival in Atlanta on Sept. 21. Their next Cosmic De-Evolution headlining date is Sept. 24 in Toronto. A complete list of dates can be found at ClubDevo.com.

Weezer fuels new music speculation with social media & website logo change

Is Weezer teasing new music?

Fans of Rivers Cuomo and company are hoping to say it is so after the band updated their logo on their Facebook and website. The image features Weezer’s signature flying-W logo in white against an all-black background.

Weezer, of course, is known for putting out color-themed albums ever since their 1994 self-titled debut became known as the Blue Album. However, they already put out a Black Album in 2019, so we’re guessing that’s not what the logo change is teasing.

The most recent Weezer albums are 2021’s OK Human and Van Weezer. They also put out four EPs in 2022 as part of their SZNZ project.

In addition to maybe possibly teasing new music, Weezer is working on a movie, which they revealed during their set at Coachella in April.

Gunna‘s The Last Wun debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard 200, according to Billboard. With 80,000 equivalent album units earned, it’s secured the #3 spot, becoming his seventh top-10 effort on the chart. Of that total, 79,000 units came from streaming, also landing the album at #3 on the Top Streaming Albums list.

Lil Baby has announced that his album The Leaks will arrive on Sept. 5. He also shared the track list for the project, which features G Herbo, Rylo Rodriguez, Young Thug and Lil Yachty, among others.

It seems Earl Sweatshirt has some music on the way. Next to a photo montage including a photo him, Chris Brown and a LeBron James meme, he wrote, “8/22 LLLz.” Live Laugh Love will arrive on Aug. 22.

Jay-Z might also be cooking up in the studio, according to producer Memphis Bleek. He said during a recent appearance on Drink Champs, “I just was with him in Vegas. … He just came out on the show, like, yo, my n****, they went stupid,” Bleek said of Hov’s appearance at Beyoncé‘s Cowboy Carter show. “I said, ‘Listen, I know you working. Save me a verse.’ He’s like, ‘Alright, I got you.’ So if it happens, it happens.”

With Drake‘s upcoming album titled Iceman, NBA legend George “Iceman” Gervin decided to give him a gift, Billboard reports. He reportedly gave Drake his #44 San Antonio Spurs jersey with a special message on the back: “To: Drake, to Iceman From: 44 Iceman.”

Fleetwood Mac founder Mick Fleetwood made a special appearance Saturday night at the second annual Maui Music and Food Experience.

The two-day event took place Friday and Saturday at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa in Hawaii, with Fleetwood turning up for a Jimi Hendrix tribute during a set by Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk. Other special guests during the performance included The Isley Brothers‘ Ernie IsleyBernard Fowler, best known for his longtime career singing backup for The Rolling Stones; and blues rock guitarist Wayne Baker Brooks.

The Maui Music and Food Experience helped raise $200,000 for the Hua Momona Foundation and its charitable efforts to help the Lahaina community. The organization plans to hold another event on Nov. 7 in Chicago.

Fleetwood also performed at the inaugural Maui Music and Food Experience, as did Neville and Fowler. It took place in September 2024, and raised money for essential services like food and housing for the survivors of the 2023 Maui wildfires. Fleetwood himself was a victim of the fires; his Maui restaurant, Fleetwood’s on Front Street, was one of the many businesses destroyed.
