The 50th anniversary of the Eagles’ iconic album Hotel California is being celebrated in a new book.

Eagles and Hotel California: 50 Years is described as a “visual and narrative journey” exploring “the creation, legacy, and lasting cultural power of one of rock’s most iconic albums.”

It includes more than 200 photos and images, including rare studio shots, tour photography and band memorabilia. In book, rock historian Sean Egan delves into the “tumultuous” recording sessions for the album, as well as the record’s iconic songs, including the title track, “New Kid in Town” and “Life in the Fast Lane.” He also explores the band’s internal struggles and the album’s 50-year legacy.

The book will be released Sept. 8 and is available for preorder now.

Released in December 1976, Hotel California was the Eagles’ fifth studio album and their third #1. The album, their first with guitarist Joe Walsh, spent eight nonconsecutive weeks in the top spot and went on to become one of the bestselling albums of all time, selling over 32 million records and being certified 26-times Platinum by the RIAA.

Sublime will release a new album called Until the Sun Explodes on Friday, marking the band’s first record in 30 years and their first with Jakob Nowell, son of late frontman Bradley Nowell. As Jakob tells Billboard, though, it may also be their last.

“Unless a child of mine wants to make another one one day, this is the last one I’m gonna make,” Jakob says.

“I think you have to know your goals, set out to achieve them, and if you do you must then create new goals,” he continues. “I love doing this and it’s truly healed me in many ways, and allowed me to grow as an entertainer and performer. But I wish to carry the flag forward in different ways now.”

That includes making music with his own Jakobs Castle project and growing his record label. Jakob also intends to keep performing with Sublime alongside original members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh, and adds his feelings about making another Sublime album “could change in the future.”

“But it would be enough into the future where it would be a moot point,” Jakob says. “I’ve done what I thought was impossible and I’m very proud with the results.”

“I would want Until the Sun Explodes to feel like [an] epilogue, the victory lap, a celebration of Sublime’s history and a love letter to my father and all of his friends and the scene that raised me and touched so many people’s lives,” he continues. “After this I’d really like to pass that along and help the kids who want to do something similar.”

The 50th anniversary of ABBA’s iconic track “Dancing Queen” will be marked with the release of two new vinyl variants.

The single, remastered at Abbey Road Studios in London, will be reissued on 10-inch black vinyl and 10-inch sparkling vinyl on Aug. 13. The song “La Reina Del Baile” is featured on the B-side.

Both formats are available for preorder now.

Originally released in August 1976, “Dancing Queen” was the lead single off the Swedish band’s fourth studio album, Arrival. A huge hit across the world, the song became ABBA’s only #1 hit in the U.S. and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2015.

The video for the track, which reached 1 billion views on YouTube in June 2025, was directed by Lasse Hallström, who went on to direct such films as What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, The Cider House Rules and Chocolat.

The Beach Boys’ Al Jardine is paying tribute to his late bandmate Brian Wilson on the one-year anniversary of the music legend’s death.

“It’s hard to believe a whole year has already passed since we lost Brian but to be honest, I don’t feel like he’s gone,” Jardine writes in a social media post on Thursday, which included a photo of him and Brian Wilson together. “His music keeps him alive and we certainly feel his presence at every show we do.”

Jardine adds, “We love you Brian and always will.” He then tells him to “say hi to Carl and Dennis,” meaning Brian’s brothers and Beach Boys bandmates Carl Wilson, who died in 1998, and Dennis Wilson, who died in 1983.

Brian Wilson was 82 when he passed.

Brian Wilson’s daughter Carnie Wilson also pays tribute to the Beach Boys legend on social media, writing, “There’s not a day that goes by or maybe even a few hours that go by when I’m not thinking of you and missing you. You know how much I love you. I know you can feel that up there in heaven.”

The post was accompanied by a photo of Brian Wilson onstage with Carnie Wilson and her sister and Wilson Philips bandmate Wendy Wilson.

She adds, “Singing with you was always one of the great gifts that we shared together. I hope you can see this picture from wherever you are. It sure fills my heart.”

There’s a brand-new voice on country radio, and she just happens to be Vincent Mason’s girlfriend.

Stella Lefty is nobody’s arm candy, however, with plenty of country — and pop — cred of her own. Her breakout single, “Boston,” is a top-30 hit on the country chart. It’s an even bigger smash on the all-genre Hot 100, clocking in at #15.

“Seeing people around the world discover ‘Boston’ has been so awesome,” she says. “I made this song with my friends so it only made sense to make this video with my friends as well. I hope people love it as much as we loved making it!”

The 23-year-old L.A.-based singer/songwriter sold out her first headlining tour in a matter of minutes on the strength of the song. She’ll also be opening dates on Tucker Wetmore’s The Brunette Tour in August and September.

Stella’s new EP, Is This Heaven?, features a duet with her significant other on “Something to Lose.”

You can check out a new performance video of “Boston” on YouTube now.

Selena Gomez says her ‘heart breaks’ for the Spurs

While it seems every celebrity is cheering on the New York Knicks as they attempt to win their first championship since 1973, one celebrity is bummed that they beat the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night.

Selena Gomez is a Texan and a lifelong Spurs fan. She’s currently filming Only Murders in the Building in London, and as she documented on her Instagram Story, she had to watch Game 4 of the NBA Finals at an ungodly hour.

“3 a.m. London time but can’t miss it lol,” she captioned a photo of the game streaming on a laptop.

Following the Spurs’ last-minute loss, she posted an old photo of herself wearing a Spurs jersey and posing at one of the team’s games. “Happy for NY but my heart breaks just a lil lol,” she wrote. “It’s ok. I’m happy for the teams! Thanks for giving us some great games @nba.”

She then posted another photo of herself getting up for work and looking very tired, labeled, “slept 3 hours.” That was followed by more pictures of herself as a young girl wearing Spurs merch, posing with a cutout of Spurs power forward Tim Duncan and standing next to the team’s trophy case.

Perhaps with those photos Selena was trying to prove her Spurs fan bona fides so as not to find herself in the same situation that her BFF Taylor Swift did Wednesday night. One of the announcers at the game was caught on a hot mic saying, “She’s not a Knicks fan, get out of here, girl,” after spotting Taylor at Madison Square Garden.

In fact, Taylor is a Knicks fan and fans responded by posting photos of her attending games over the years.
