Big Machine celebrated 20 years of making music by throwing a massive free concert for more than 100,000 fans on Nashville’s lower Broadway Friday night.

The star-studded show began with Danielle Peck, the first Big Machine artist to send a single to radio, and her hits “Findin’ a Good Man” and “I Don’t.” Jack Ingram, the first Big Machine artist to hit #1, delivered “Wherever You Are” and “Love You.”

Current hitmakers Brett Young and Carly Pearce also took the stage, with Brett performing “In Case You Didn’t Know,” “Mercy,” “Sleep Without You” and “Here Tonight.” Carly offered “Next Girl,” “What He Didn’t Do” and “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” while reappearing to perform “Don’t Mind If I Do” with Riley Green and “My Wish” with Rascal Flatts.

Riley’s set also included a special appearance by Hannah McFarland on “Pick a Place,” as well as his hits “I Wish Grandpas Never Died,” “There Was This Girl” and “Worst Way.”

Sheryl Crow brought the rock vibes with “Steve McQueen” and “Everyday is a Winding Road.” The Band Perry, Aaron Lewis, RaeLynn, Danielle Bradbery, Preston Cooper and The Jack Wharff Band took the stage, as well.

Rascal Flatts were indeed the mystery band who closed the show with renditions of “Fast Cars and Freedom,” “I Like the Sound of That” and “Life is a Highway.” R&B star Akon even stopped by to perform “Hold the Umbrella” with lead singer Gary LeVox

The Who’s rock opera Quadrophenia debuted as a ballet in the U.K. back in May, and now the production is coming to America.

Pete Townshend’s Quadrophenia, A Rock Ballet is set to run at New York City Center from Nov. 14 to Nov. 16. Directed by Rob Ashford, the production features the orchestral version of the album by Townshend’s wife, Rachel Fuller, recorded by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

The ballet is choreographed by Paul Roberts, with rising star Paris Fitzpatrick playing the central character, Jimmy.

Quadrophenia is the only Who album that I solely composed and produced, and the movie that followed in 1979 launched the careers of some of the finest young actors of the time,” says Pete, noting that after he heard Fuller’s orchestral score “my first thought was that it would make a powerfully rhythmic and emotionally engaging ballet.”

Pete adds that after the project was workshopped in 2023, “I knew we had something that would resonate with new audiences, and also bring joy, as it had in its other iterations for decades.”

The story, set in Brighton, England, in 1965, follows a young working-class mod named Jimmy on a journey of self-discovery. The album’s title was inspired by Jimmy’s four-way “split personality,” with each member of the band representing a different facet of that personality.

Tickets for Quadrophenia, A Rock Ballet go on sale Thursday for Friends of City Center; tickets go on sale to the general public Sept. 11. More info can be found at nycitycenter.org.

Myles Smith to headline halftime show as NFL heads to Ireland

Have you heard? Myles Smith is playing the halftime show! No, not that one — a different halftime show.

On Sept. 28, the NFL will stage its first-ever regular season game in Dublin, Ireland, as the Minnesota Vikings take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. While Myles is from England, not Ireland, he’s been tapped to do the halftime show at the game, during which he’ll be joined by The Line-Up Choir, a Dublin-based group.

The gig is just the latest in a series of major moments in the “Stargazing” singer’s career in 2025. He was named one of TIME‘s 100 most influential people; he’s opening for Ed Sheeran on Ed’s European tour; and he won the Rising Star Award at the BRITs, the U.K. equivalent of the Grammys.

“It has been an incredible year for me so far, and now to be on a stage like this is insane,” he tells Billboard of the halftime show. “Performing at the first-ever regular NFL season game in Dublin, in such an iconic venue, feels like another major milestone. It’s an honor to be alongside so many other amazing performers, both from Ireland and around the world.”

“I can’t wait to bring my music to such a massive stage and share this experience with those in the stadium and watching around the world.”

For information on how to watch the game, and Myles’ performance, visit NFL.com.

Drake is attempting to put those plastic surgery rumors to rest.

The rapper sat down with Bobbi Althoff for her Not This Again podcast and addressed speculation that he’s gotten a BBL and ab surgery.

“No,” he answered when asked if he got either of those procedures done.

He did admit that the viral photo of his abs that sparked the surgery rumors was probably edited a bit.

“I think it was just like I came from the gym. I was sweaty in that pic,” he said. “Maybe I went on Facetune and maybe I like heightened the saturation or something on it. I hit it too hard. They don’t look like that.”

This was the second time Drake sat down with Bobbi Althoff, after having previously done her The Really Good Podcast in 2023, an episode that was later deleted without explanation. He admitted the two got into a “tiff” and they decided to pull the interview.

As The Band Perry works on new music, they’re reissuing a new remastered version of their self-titled debut album: The Band Perry Remastered.

Originally released in 2010, The Band Perry was certified Platinum, selling more than 1 million copies and launching their chart-topping hit “If I Die Young,” which was written by Kimberly Perry. The song would go on to be certified nine-times Platinum, and win CMA song and single of the year in 2011.

The trio, which is now made up of Reid Perry, Kimberly and her husband, Johnny Costello, is currently in the studio with producer Dann Huff, working on their new album for Big Machine.

On Friday, they performed their hits “Chainsaw,” “Better Dig Two,” “DONE” and “If I Die Young” at the label’s 20th anniversary concert in downtown Nashville.

David Byrne is releasing a new solo album, Who is the Sky?, on Friday, but that’s not the only reason he has to celebrate.

In August the Talking Heads frontman revealed in an interview with The Times that he was engaged to businesswoman and artist Mala Gaonkar. He revealed in an Instagram Story Monday that they’ll be getting married “this week,” and he shared the music that will be playing at the event.

“I’m getting married this week and made an almost entirely instrumental playlist while our guests eat an amazing and spicy dinner,” he shared in the Story. “My sense is that words & lyrics can be distracting – the ear goes to them, especially if it’s a song one knows.”

He adds, “So I opted for buoyant instrumentals that will create a hopeful and joyous atmosphere … and that folks can also ignore at the same time.”

Byrne shared a link to the playlist so fans can enjoy the music, as well.

Who is the Sky? is Byrne’s first solo album since 2018’s American Utopia. It features special guests St. VincentParamore’s Hayley Williams and The Smile drummer Tom Skinner.

Byrne is set to kick off a new tour in support of the album on Sept. 14 in Providence, Rhode Island, wrapping with two nights in Miami, Dec. 5 and 6.
