Talking Heads frontman David Byrne is engaged to be married.

The news was revealed in a story in The Times, which notes that Byrne “lives in New York with his fiancée, the businesswoman and artist Mala Gaonkar.”

In the article, Byrne also refers to Gaonkar as his “fiancée” when talking about the inspiration behind the song “Moisturizing Thing” on his upcoming album, Who Is the Sky?, dropping Sept. 5.

“My fiancée will sometimes come at me with greasy hands, ready to smear my face. And at one point I thought, ‘What if I wake up and really looked younger?'” he says. “But there’s a message, too. About how people judge us by the way we look. You learn a lesson you didn’t expect at the start.”

This will be the second marriage for Byrne. He was previously married to costume designer Adelle Lutz from 1987 to 2004. They had one child together, daughter Malu Abeni Valentine Byrne, who was born in 1989.

Sabrina Carpenter‘s dogs may be gracing the cover of DogueVogue‘s annual issue focusing on celebrities’ dogs, but it’s ROSÉ‘s pup who is truly a star. According to Vogue, the BLACKPINK singer’s terrier mix, Hank, is the most-followed celebrity dog on Instagram — he has 4.6 million followers. “I try to take him everywhere when I can,” the singer says of the pooch, who’s named after Tom Hanks. “If I could tell him one thing … I would tell him that I wish I could spend every minute of my day with him.”

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco don’t have a wedding date yet, but Benny says he already knows what kind of father he’s going to be to their future children. Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar, the hitmaking producer says, “Always let your child explore. Love them unconditionally. Follow the vision and don’t give up, but also teach your kid great foundational tips on how to treat themselves, how to treat women and men, and respect and just love and, you know, all the things.”

Post Malone is the father of a 3-year-old girl and says he couldn’t be happier. Speaking with GQ, he calls his daughter “hilarious” and “the most beautiful creature to ever have existed on this earth.” As an example of her humor, Posty says his daughter will tell him, “I love you,” to which he’ll respond, “How much?” Then, he says, “She goes, ‘A little.’ I go, ‘Oh, you little s***.’ And then she calls me a little s***, too. It’s pretty funny.”

The American Music Awards, which aired in May with host Jennifer Lopez, will return next year on CBS and Paramount+. 2026 will mark the start of a new deal that will see the fan-voted awards show air on CBS and Paramount+ for the next five years. Next year’s show will air live from Las Vegas over Memorial Day weekend.

Many artists won’t talk about their love life in interviews, but Dua Lipa figures if it’s a positive thing, why not?

In her new Harper’s Bazaar cover story, Dua, who’s engaged to actor Callum Turner, says, “I’m happier than ever, so it feels like I’m doing a disservice by not talking about it.  … When you’re a public person, anything that’s very personal is very vulnerable. It’s not like I don’t want to share it.”

“That vulnerability is so scary, but I feel so lucky to get to feel it,” she notes. “I’ve spent a lot of time being guarded or protecting my heart, and so I’m letting go of that feeling and just being like, ‘Okay, if I’m supposed to get hurt, then this is what’s going to happen.’ I have to just allow love.”

“I love love. It is a beautiful thing,” Lipa tells the magazine. “It’s a really inspiring thing. You find yourself so intensely falling all the time in the best way possible.”

In addition to being happy in her love life, Dua is happily planning her next album, despite currently being on tour for her most recent one, 2024’s Radical Optimism.

“Every day I’m making something that sounds completely different from yesterday. Trying to figure out the new direction is probably the most fun part, but it’s also the hardest,” she says.

The article also mentions that Dua and Mark Ronson — who worked with her on her Barbie song “Dance the Night Away,” among other projects — were “recording new material at a studio in New York.” And Ronson says Dua, with whom he’s worked for eight years, is currently entering “a new era for her as a songwriter and as a singer and as a human.”

Teyana Taylor, Issa Rae promote ‘Escape Room’ with Better Be Nice TikTok trend

Teyana Taylor may be recovering from vocal cord surgery, but that doesn’t stop the show. In an Instagram post promoting her upcoming album, she and Issa Rae take on the viral Better Be Nice TikTok trend, with Issa imploring fans to listen to Teyana as she discusses her latest project.

“My friend is dropping a motherf******* album, and she’s gonna talk about it, and ya’ll better be nice in the comments,” Issa says with an Escape Room vinyl in hand, before she moves aside to give Teyana the spotlight.

Teyana steps up and strikes different poses with her own copy of the vinyl. When Issa urges her to “talk about it,” she tries, only for her voice to come out in a whisper.

Issa quickly stops Teyana and tells the camera the singer “just had vocal surgery, so just bare with us.”

The clip comes to an end as Teyana picks up what seem to be teleprompter cards.

Issa narrates two tracks on Teyana’s Escape Room, set to drop on Friday. The album also features fellow narrators Taraji P. Henson, LaLa Anthony, Kerry Washington and more, as well as collaborations with Jill Scott, Lucky Daye, Tyla and her two daughters.

Teyana had a different plan in mind in terms of promoting the album, but was required to have emergency vocal cord surgery due to a noncancerous growth on one of her vocal cords.

She pulled out of some public appearances to “fully heal,” she said on Instagram.

“I wanted to give you everything, the full vision. But please know I put my whole heart into this music, this film, this rollout,” she wrote in the post. “And when I return, it’ll be with even more fire, more purpose and the best version of me.”

Pete Townshend on ‘celebrating’ The Who’s legacy on tour: ‘Why shouldn’t I revel in it?’

Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey kicked off The Who’s The Song Is Over North America Farewell Tour Saturday, and it sounds like Pete is a bit ambivalent about being on the road.

“It can be lonely. I’ve thought, ‘Well, this is my job, I’m happy to have the work, but I prefer to be doing something else,'” he says in a new interview with AARP magazine. “Then, I think, ‘Well, I’m 80 years old. Why shouldn’t I revel in it? Why shouldn’t I celebrate?'”

Discussing the band’s decision to continue following the death of members Keith Moon and John Entwistle, Townshend notes that The Who is “a brand rather than a band.” He adds, “Roger and I have a duty to the music and the history.”

“The Who [still] sells records —the Moon and Entwistle families have become millionaires,” he says. “There’s also something more, really: the art, the creative work is when we perform it. We’re celebrating. We’re a Who tribute band.”

And while The Who has said this will be their final tour, it may not necessarily be the last we see of them.

“We reserve the right to pop up again,” Pete says, “but I think one thing is very clear: that at our age, we will not.”

He adds, “Roger and I certainly [will] work together for charity and possibly for special projects. Together we represent all aspects of The Who legacy.”

He notes, “[W]e’ll continue to work together, even if we rarely socialize.”

The Who’s The Song Is Over North America Farewell Tour hits Newark, New Jersey, on Tuesday. A complete list of dates can be found at TheWho.com.

George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Don Cook and Keith Gattis are going into the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2026.

In addition to having 110 million RIAA certifications, as well as a top hit every year for more than three decades, King George has penned some of his own songs — “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar,” “Here for a Good Time” and “The Weight of the Badge” among them.

The most-awarded artist in ACM history, Miranda co-wrote hits like “Bluebird,” “Tin Man” and “Automatic.”

Don Cook has 20 number ones to his credit, 13 of them with Brooks & Dunn. Along the way, he also picked up cuts by Strait, Alabama and Kenny Rogers.

Keith Gattis wrote “El Cerrito Place,” which was recorded by Kenny Chesney, with Strait, Willie Nelson, Randy Houser and George Jones tunes to his credit as well.

The four honorees will be officially inducted during the 20th anniversary Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards Feb. 21 at ACL Live in Austin.

Noel Gallagher has been “completely blown away” by the response to the Oasis reunion tour.

Speaking to the U.K. radio station talkSPORT in his first interview since he and Liam Gallagher returned to the road together, Noel shares that the trek has been “truly amazing” so far.

“I’m not usually short for words, but I can’t really articulate it at the minute to be honest,” Noel says.

The tour, which kicked off in England in July, marks the first time the long-feuding Gallagher brothers have shared the live stage since Oasis’ breakup in 2009.

“It’s great just to be back with [guitarist Paul] Bonehead [Arthurs] and Liam and just be doing it again,” Noel says. “I guess when it’s all said and done, we’ll sit and reflect on it. But it’s great being back in the band with Liam.”

Noel adds that he’d “forgot how funny” Liam is, and that his brother has been “smashing it” with his singing on the tour.

“I’m proud of him,” Noel says of Liam. “I’ve been fronting a band for 16 years, I know how difficult that is … I couldn’t do the stadium thing like he does.”

Oasis’ tour comes to North America starting Aug. 24 in Toronto.

David Archuleta’s open to dating both men and women, but says it’s ‘easier’ with men

David Archuleta came out as queer in 2021, but that doesn’t mean he’s limiting himself.

He tells People, “For the most part, I date men, but I consider myself queer, so I’m still open to meeting girls. I still do, if it feels right.”

But David, who recently released an EP called Earthly Delights, adds that there are advantages to dating men as opposed to women. “I feel like with guys, it’s easier because to be honest, I think guys are just culturally and also just hormonally more forward,” he says.

One challenge he has while dating, though, is the fact that he’s famous — to a point.

“I’m recognizable enough that I might get recognized, but I’m also not relevant enough that everyone’s going to know who I am,” the American Idol runner-up notes. “I used to be like, ‘I’m in the entertainment industry.’ And now I’ve learned how to just have confidence and be like, ‘You know what? I’m a singer. I do music.'”

He tells the mag that while he used to be “really uncomfortable with who I was” and was therefore uncomfortable when he was recognized, he’s now “comfortable in my own skin.”

However, he’s still coy about who he’s dating right now.

“I don’t usually disclose where I’m at in my relationships,” he says. “I’m very much in my lover boy flirty era, and it’s a very fun time for me.”
