Three Days Grace‘s new album, Alienation, is out now. It marks the band’s first record with returning frontman Adam Gontier, forming a two-vocalist lineup alongside longtime 3DG singer Matt Walst.

Gontier had previously left Three Days Grace in 2013, but, as drummer Neil Sanderson tells ABC Audio, there weren’t any hard feelings to overcome in welcoming him back into the group.

“Any sort of hatchet burying was done a while ago,” Sanderson says.

Sanderson adds there was “no awkwardness” in beginning to write again with Gontier after over 10 years.

“It felt like time had stood still in a lot of ways … in the writing process of sitting with acoustic guitars and flushing out what we all agree are the most exciting ideas,” Sanderson says.

Said process confirmed to all the members of Three Days Grace that they had something with their revamped lineup.

“Once all that felt naturally and organically happening, then it gave us a lot of confidence that we were gonna be able to all get on a bus together and go out and try to conquer the world again,” Sanderson says.

Alienation includes the singles “Mayday” and “Apologies.” Three Days Grace will launch a U.S. tour in support of the album alongside Breaking Benjamin Aug. 29 in Ridgedale, Missouri.

Shinedown says ‘Three Six Five’ is a reminder to ‘keep going’ and ‘live every day to the fullest’

Shinedown (Ebru Yildiz)

Shinedown is currently out on their Dance Kid Dance tour, named after one of two singles the band dropped earlier this year; the other, “Three Six Five,” is still climbing the pop chart. And while it’s a powerful song about loss and grief, Shinedown singer Brent Smith says the track also offers a glimmer of hope.

“Three Six Five” was inspired by the fact that Shinedown bassist Eric Bass lost his father and his aunt, and Eric’s wife, Kellie Bass, lost her sister, all in the same year. Brent says the song addresses that, but also talks about your loved ones remaining a presence in your life, even if they’re not with you anymore.

“Me and Eric were having so many conversations about, you know, his dad and what his dad taught him and his aunt and Kellie and her sister. And they were trying to reflect on all of the good times versus any of the bad times,” he says. “And it’s reflecting on that, and how that hurts and can sadden you.”

“But at the same time, you have to think about that person from beyond, when they kinda wink at you in your own everyday life — even when they’re gone,” he adds. “That they’re reminding you that they see you and they’re telling you to keep going.”

The song also carries an important reminder to not be permanently weighed down by loss, Brent says.

“Time is precious, but it’s not promised,” he notes. “So it’s about going after the things in your own life that mean something to you, [and to not] hold back and to live every day to the fullest.”

Shinedown’s tour wraps Aug. 30 in Memphis. They released a new song, “Killing Fields,” in July, but there’s been no word on a new album.

Ciara releases new album, ‘CiCi’: ‘It’s time’

Ciara releases new album, ‘CiCi’: ‘It’s time’
Disney/Frank Micelotta

Ciara‘s new album, Cici, has arrived, marking her first release since 2019’s Beauty Marks.

“It’s time. Honestly, I’ve been working on this album for almost five years. I put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, as they would say, into this project,” she told The Associated Press, noting she’s been “still actively putting out music” in between albums.

Ci says she will put a complete stop to her music career if and when she stops “loving the process and experience,” but for now she has the “same excitement I had as a little girl.”

Yet, despite her continued passion and excitement for the genre, she clarifies that music is not her sole focus or the only way she measures success.

“Not every year has been about music. And sometimes, it’s been about me just growing as a human. Sometimes, it’s been about me finding my way obviously as a mom, and then I have family now and my husband, being there for him. These are all real things,” Ciara says, sharing that her days often consist of going from the stage to the classroom to the football field and back home.

“Success to me is yes, putting out music. Being the best artist I can be, hopefully being known as one of the best to ever do it. … But it’s not solely in that,” she continued. “People lose themselves because they didn’t live. I don’t want to be that girl – I’m not going to be that girl.”

Cici is now available on streaming services.

Lil Nas X was arrested and taken to the hospital after he was seen roaming down a street in Los Angeles early Thursday morning, nearly naked, sources told ABC News on Thursday.

The sources said they got a call for a man in the road in his underwear, and when Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to the scene, Lil Nas X was arrested.

The sources said some force was used, saying the rapper and singer did not go willingly.

It was unclear what Lil Nas X, born Montero Lamar Hill, was subsequently taken to the hospital for, according to the sources. An investigation is underway, the sources said.

ABC has reached out to reps for Lil Nas X for comment.

Video shared by TMZ Hip Hop earlier on Thursday shows the “Montero” rapper walking in nothing but white cowboy boots and his underwear.

In the video, he sings and interacts with the person filming, saying, “Didn’t I tell you to put the phone down? Uh oh, someone’s gonna have to pay for that.”

He also makes comments about being at a party as he struts down the street and strikes a pose.

Lil Nas X is known for his unique musical style, which blends hip-hop, pop and country influences.

His 2019 song, “Old Town Road,” became the longest-running No. 1 in Billboard history.

The Barbarians of California, AWOLNATION frontman Aaron Bruno‘s hardcore side project, have released a new song called “Modern Fashion.”

“Hopefully, ‘Modern Fashion’ can become a metaphor for whatever you feel like wearing and for whatever music you feel like listening to…never having to explain yourself,” Bruno says.

The video for “Modern Fashion” is available on YouTube.

“Modern Fashion” follows the debut Barbarians album, 2024’s And Now I’m Just Gnashing My Teeth. The song arrives as the band is preparing to launch a tour opening for Deftones and Phantogram starting Friday in Vancouver.

The most recent AWOLNATION album is 2024’s The Phantom Five.

Regina King‘s MianU brand may be another bottle of wine to some, but to her, it’s a way to continue connecting with her late son, Ian Alexander Jr

“It was kind of an epiphany I had that came from a place of continuing to create memories in Ian’s spirit,” she tells Haute Living. “I’m still here, on this plane, separate from him, and I’m surrounded by people talking about their children — engagements, weddings, new chapters — [while mine is gone].”

“I still love talking about Ian: I just don’t have the chance to create new memories in the way they do,” she continues. “But I’m not focused on that. This is my way of creating something new, together.”

She notes “it just made sense to start with orange wine,” the kind of wine Ian introduced her to years ago. Regina says Ian comes to mind every time she drinks it.

“Every time a cork opens, or every time I’m pouring a glass, I’m thinking of Ian. I’m thinking of him 24/7 anyway, but always in this moment, I can see his face,” says Regina, who hopes the drink will strike up conversations and questions about Ian.

“Maybe they’ll ask. His name is right there, in the middle of it all. He’ll never be forgotten,” she says. “If you see me, you see Ian.”

Ian died by suicide in January 2022; his name is in the center of the brand’s title, and the logo is his handwriting.

Benson Boone will be performing at the upcoming 2025 Dreamfest benefit concert, scheduled for Oct. 15 at the Chase Center in San Francisco. Fans are evidently pregaming for the release of The Life of a Showgirl by streaming Taylor Swift‘s older music. Billboard reports that from Aug. 12 to Aug. 14 her streams increased 57% from three days prior to the New Heights podcast announcement. In addition, a song from Taylor’s 2019 album Lover, “False God,” experienced a 383% increase in streams after it was featured on the Aug. 13 episode of Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty.

It seems to be the end of an era. First, news came that Billy Joel‘s motorcycle shop in Oyster Bay, Long Island, would be closing down. Now a major exhibit about the Piano Man’s life and career that’s been running for two years is coming to an end.

Billy Joel – My Life, A Piano Man’s Journey has been on display at the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame since November 2023. It includes rare memorabilia, videos, awards, recordings, instruments and photos, many donated from Billy’s personal collection. Even Billy was amazed by the exhibit: When he toured it ahead of its official opening, according to the museum, he kept asking, “Where did you get all this stuff?”

After drawing tens of thousands of visitors, the exhibit will wrap up Oct. 26. The museum’s chairman, Ernie Canadeo, tells Newsday, “It’s been two years, and since we are a full hall of fame … we felt, ‘Let’s end this.’” He added the museum will “retain a lot of items,” including the piano Billy used on his Face 2 Face tour with Elton John.

Another item that’s “probably staying,” according to Canadeo? An elementary school photo of Billy that shows a female classmate sitting behind him. “When Billy came to visit the exhibit, he looked at that photo, pointed to her and said, ‘Oh, that’s Virginia,'” says Canadeo. Billy was referring to the girl he famously sang about in his classic hit “Only the Good Die Young.”

So, if watching the Billy Joel HBO documentary has gotten you interested in doing a deep dive into his life, you can buy tickets online to see the exhibition before it closes.

The upcoming Bruce Springsteen biopic has booked another film festival.

The American Film Institute has announced that Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere is set to open the 39th edition of AFI Fest on Oct. 22 in Hollywood.

“AFI is the stage and the screens where the world’s stories come together in Hollywood,” said Bob Gazzale, AFI president and CEO. “To open with Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere honors the global impact of an American icon and the true artistry it takes to tell his tale.”

The film, directed by Scott Cooper, stars The Bear’s Jeremey Allen White as Springsteen and Succession’s Jeremy Strong as his manager Jon Landau. It follows Springsteen as he makes his 1982 solo album Nebraska.

“It’s a true honor to open AFI Fest with Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere,” says Cooper. “AFI has always championed bold, meaningful storytelling, and I’m grateful to be part of that tradition. While Bruce’s roots will forever be in New Jersey, Los Angeles played a profound role in shaping his artistic voice.”

AFI Fest runs from Oct. 22 to Oct. 26. Passes are on sale now, with individual tickets going on sale Oct. 6.

This is the second film festival that will screen the Springsteen film. It will also be the New York Film Festival’s Spotlight Gala selection, premiering Sept. 28.

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, which also stars Stephen GrahamPaul Walter Hauser, Odessa Young and Gaby Hoffmann, opens Oct. 24.

Addison Rae just got Lucky.

The “Fame is a Gun” singer has teamed with Lucky Brand jeans to design a new style, which is now available online. WWD reports that Addison served as the creative director for the Addison Ultra Low Rise Flare, which is a reimagining of a Lucky Brand jean from the early 2000s.

The collab started after Lucky Brand gave Addison a pair of the archival jeans, which she started wearing around LA and onstage during live performances. That led to the partnership on the new style, which features a collectible back patch and hang tag and comes in two washes: Hidden and Bare. The jeans will set you back $129.

Addison also stars in a new ad campaign for the jean, shot at the Million Dollar Theatre in downtown LA.

WWD quotes Addison as saying, “Seeing this project through from start to finish, from partnering on concept development to styling and the final edit, was such an empowering experience.”

She adds that having so much “creative input” let her “take ownership of how I express myself, especially at a moment where I’m evolving and introducing a new side of my artistry.”

Meanwhile, WWD also reports that Post Malone is stepping into the fashion business: He plans to launch his own Austin Post brand with a Sept. 1 runway show in Paris. Prior to creating his own line, Post has fronted campaigns for SKIMS, UGG and Crocs, among other labels.
