Cardi B is all about timing. Speaking to Billboard, she says it’s why she didn’t release her sophomore album sooner and why she turned down the opportunity to perform on the Super Bowl stage.

“My fans be like, ‘Oh, you should have put a project together when “WAP” and “Up” was out,’ but I only had four records that I like. I didn’t have an album done around that time,” she explained. “I’m not the kind of person that’s going to lock in in two months and complete an album. I’m very picky with my music.”

Cardi also attributed her lack of music to her decision to turn down an opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl.

“I feel like soon, if I get to do it, I’m going to have more hits,” she told Billboard. “I’m going to be more experienced and I’m going to eat that up.”

Some of those new hits will arrive Sept. 19 via her highly awaited sophomore album, Am I the Drama? Cardi will then follow it up with her first-ever tour, which she says will be different than her live shows.

“I think my personal tour is not going to be like any other performances that I’ve ever had. From the aesthetics to the look to even the way I perform, I’m going to be doing things that I don’t normally do, like work out, because I want to be the best,” she teased. “I’ve been going to so many different tours. I went to the Madonna show and the Beyoncé show. I can’t perform like Beyoncé, but you can’t half-a** nothing.”

Minus a few water breaks for her asthma, Cardi tells Billboard she is going to give the tour 100%.

“This is going to be one of the greatest tours,” she shares. “I’m going to make it the best.”

Nine Inch Nails have premiered the video for “As Alive as You Need Me to Be,” the first single off their upcoming soundtrack to the movie Tron: Ares.

The black-and-white clip features close-ups of frontman Trent Reznor‘s face being covered in disembodied hands.

The striking visual, directed by Maxime Quoilin, evokes the sense of escalating pressure heard in the song, drawing on the lyric “All these hands have got a hold of me,” a press release says.

The “As Alive as You Need Me to Be” video is now streaming on YouTube.

The Tron: Ares soundtrack will be released Sept. 19 ahead of the Disney film’s theatrical debut on Oct. 10. While Reznor has scored many films with his NIN bandmate Atticus Ross, the Tron: Ares soundtrack is being specifically billed as a Nine Inch Nails project.

Nine Inch Nails are currently on the U.S. leg of their Peel It Back world tour, which continues Wednesday in New York City.

Disney is the parent company of ABC News.

Drake says he gets ‘sensitive about’ culture vulture allegations against him

If there’s one thing Drake is admittedly sensitive about, it’s the allegation that he’s a culture vulture. He opened up about his feelings on Bobbi Althoff‘s new podcastNot This Again, while discussing why he cut ties with her after their 2013 interview.

“You came around at an interesting time in your life and I think that I took a lot of the weight and blame at that time when you needed to get a little active on somebody. I think I took some hits, verbally,” Drake said. “You made me feel like our interview was the reason your life was bad. So I just said I’m gonna get rid of the interview and you won’t ever have to see it again a day in your life.”

The interview, Drake said, was an example of the guilt-tripping he’s experienced “where people are like, ‘No, this is your fault.'”

“It’s the same way even in music, people will be like, ‘Oh, you’re a culture vulture,’ or people will describe the collaborative efforts that I’ve put forth and the artists that I’ve picked up and lifted up or shined a light on as me taking, you know?” Drake said. “They’ll put a negative spin on it and try and tell me that it’s a self-serving thing or whatever, and I think I get really sensitive about that.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Drake talked about his 2022 arrest in Sweden, whether he’s scared to go to LA after the Kendrick Lamar beef and more.

Dierks Bentley‘s Broken Branches Tour may only be a memory now, but it’ll live on in a new live recording of “Get Down on Your Knees and Pray.”

“I first heard this song sung live by the Del McCoury Band,” Dierks explains. “It’s an old Bill Monroe song that I’ve always loved, but I never would have thought it was something I’d add to my own set. However that was before I met The Band Loula!”

“We worked up a really cool, swampy arrangement of it that leans on their delta bluegrass-y sound,” he continues. “I’m so glad we were able to make this live recording and have something that lives on past this summer.”

The tour, which also included Zach Top, kicked off in June and wrapped Aug. 30, after a Thursday stop at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

“There aren’t enough words to describe our summer out with Dierks and Zach,” The Band Loula says in a news release. “We started the tour as newbies and left with an entire family of folks that we’ll cherish for the rest of our careers. As sad as we are to see it end, we’re grateful this collaboration with Dierks gets to endure beyond the tour.”

You can stream “Get Down on Your Knees and Pray” now.

The track will appear on the Talking Heads frontman’s upcoming album, Who Is the Sky?

Alex Warren (Jack Dytrych)

Alex Warren‘s been going a million miles an hour for the past few months, but his attempt to take some time off has resulted in an unwanted situation.

Alex wrote on Instagram Wednesday, “About four weeks ago I asked my team for a week off to be able to spend time with my family and handle some personal things going on in my life and my team ended up canceling a festival to give me that time off.”

However, he continues, “I was just made aware that it wasn’t announced until 10 days before said festival … I’m so sorry this happened and I’m working on trying to fix this in some way, weather [sic] it’s refunds, etc. but again this was never my intention and I’m working on it. Love you guys.”

The festival in question is the Sommo Festival in Prince Edward Island, Canada. While Alex has been getting some hate online for the pullout, his fans are mostly supportive. One wrote in the comments, “you deserve some time off!! true fans will understand! sending love.”

Another wrote, “I think it’s really great that even in the face of your own personal issues you still care enough about your fans and understand the inconvenience/potential losses people may have had.” And yet another wrote, “We live in a sad sad world if someone is going to judge you on this. Truly a reflection on them and not you.”

David Byrne has shared another single from his upcoming solo album, Who is the Sky? The latest is the track “What is the Reason For It?,” a collaboration with Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams.

“When we were finishing up the record, the producer Kid Harpoon and I were wondering, ‘Oh, maybe this song, it’s a love song, or at least it’s asking what is love, what it’s about?'” Byrne told People. “Why do we do this? Why do other people do it? Do we know anything about it?”

Byrne and Williams have stayed in touch since Paramore covered “Burning Down the House” for a 2024 album in celebration of the Talking Heads concert film Stop Making Sense. He tells People he simply texted Williams to see if she wanted to sing on “What is the Reason For It?” and she agreed, with Byrne adding, “She killed it.”

“What is the Reason For It?” is available now via digital outlets. A video, which uses AI to animate original drawings by Byrne, is streaming on YouTube.

Who is the Sky?, Byrne’s first solo album since 2018’s American Utopia, drops Friday.

Byrne is set to kick off a new tour in support of the album on Sept. 14 in Providence, Rhode Island, wrapping with two nights in Miami on Dec. 5 and 6. A complete list of dates can be found at DavidByrne.com.
