Fall in love again and again with Wuthering Heights.

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for Academy Award winner Emerald Fennell‘s adaptation of Emily Brontë‘s classic story — complete with a Charli XCX soundtrack.

The trailer is set to Charli‘s “Everything is romantic,” from her album Brat. But she announced on Instagram that the film will also feature “new original songs by me.” She added, “in theatres february 4th. happy early valentines <3.”

Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi star as Cathy and Heathcliff in the reimagining of the beloved Gothic romance. Elordi also starred in Saltburn, which Fennel wrote, directed and produced. She also wrote, directed and produced this film.

“Do you want me to stop?” Elordi’s Heathcliff asks Robbie’s Cathy as he runs his fingers over her stomach in the trailer.

“No,” she whispers in response.

Making up the ensemble cast are Hong Chau as Nelly Dean, Shazad Latif as Edgar Linton and Alison Oliver as Isabella Linton. Martin Clunes and Ewan Mitchell also star in the film.

In addition to creating the songs for this film, Charli is appearing in no less than seven upcoming movies.

Dream Theater will launch a U.S. tour Friday in Reading, Pennsylvania. It follows the prog metallers’ 2024-25 40th anniversary trek, which marked their first live shows since founding drummer Mike Portnoy returned to the band in 2023.

“We’ve been in the 40th anniversary mode since the tour began last October,” Portnoy tells ABC Audio. “Up until now, we’ve been on the road for almost a year just doing catalog stuff and celebrating the band’s reunion and celebrating the band’s 40th anniversary.”

The upcoming dates, Portnoy teases, will present a “completely different show” from the 40th anniversary performances. For one, Dream Theater has since put out a new album, Parasomnia, their first with Portnoy in 16 years.

“We’ve kind of just been patiently waiting to be able to perform this new music,” Portnoy says. “We’re excited.”

Dream Theater will certainly be performing new music in a big way — they’re playing Parasomnia in full each night on the tour.

“It’s a very cinematic album that kinda needs to be performed from top to bottom with all the sound effects and the scenery … and the spoken word stuff,” Portnoy says. “It’s a very theatrical, cinematic kind of experience, so it’s gonna really translate well to a live presentation.”

Each show will also feature a performance of the song “A Change of Seasons,” which was written in 1989 before being released in 1995.

“It’s a special song for us, but I know it holds a dear place in the fans’ hearts, as well,” Portnoy says of “A Change of Seasons.” “I know for a lot of people it’s their favorite song. It was the first time we ever wrote, like, a 25-minute epic. It’s a real important piece in the Dream Theater catalog.”

Why Charles Kelley wrapped himself in the ‘warm blanket’ of ’80s pop for new solo hit

Charles Kelley (Harper Smith)

Charles Kelley‘s a member of the Grammy-winning country trio Lady A, whose song “Need You Now” was a massive pop hit in 2010. Now he’s got his own solo pop hit, “Can’t Lose You,” from his new album, Songs for a New Moon. The song and the entire album were heavily inspired by ’80s pop and yacht rock — a genre that Charles says reminds him of his childhood.

“I think it just feels like a warm blanket,” he tells ABC Audio. “I think it just takes me back to that time where I really didn’t have any worries — you know, you’re just a young kid. And that music just always stuck with me. … When I’m on the golf course playing golf, I mean, that’s what I put on my playlist.”

As for switching genres, Charles, who got sober in 2022, says, “This was kind of where I am right now in my life. I wasn’t in the mood to make some singer-songwriter record. … I’m just kind of like, ‘Man, I just want to show some joy.’ So it’s the perfect time for me to do this record.”

Describing the music as “fun and fresh,” Charles says he knew some die-hard country fans might object, but notes, “I think anybody that’s a music fan loves a little bit of everything.”

However, he now has to “start from scratch,” as he puts it, when it comes to reintroducing himself to people who only know him as “that guy from that group.”

“You have to … really get out there and find new fans any way you can,” he says, adding that he’d like to “create a little word-of-mouth.”

“I think that that would be the ultimate dream for this project, is just people just talking about it, you know?”

Gov’t Mule is going to be celebrating Aerosmith this Halloween.

The band just announced the theme for this year’s Mule-O-Ween, sharing artwork inspired by the Aerosmith logo, along with an Instagram post that drops several references to Aerosmith songs.

“Mule-O-Ween returns!” the band writes. “Get ready for two nights filled with Sweet Emotion and plenty of deep cuts from one of rock & roll’s most iconic catalogs — reimagined, stretched out, and Mule-ified in ways only this band can deliver.”

They add, “If you Dream On about the perfect Halloween soundtrack, this is it.”

Gov’t Mule’s two-night Mule-O-Ween festivities are happening Oct. 31 in Washington, DC, and Nov. 1 in Philadelphia.

Tickets for the shows are on sale now. Gov’t Mule notes, “Tickets won’t last long — don’t be Last Child in line!”

The inspiration for this year’s theme may have come from Gov’t Mule’s current tour, dubbed the Back in the Saddle tour. “Back in the Saddle” is a track on Aerosmith’s fourth studio album, 1976’s Rocks.

The Back in the Saddle tour hits Toronto on Wednesday. A complete list of dates can be found at Mule.net.

Luckily, we had an amazing group of mates around us who we’ve seen laugh and cry when the going gets tough. The song should be an arm around the ones you love.”

Ed Sheeran often visits schools to speak to kids about music education and songwriting, and now you’ll be able to see him do it on YouTube.

Ed is one of the “teachers” on the second season of the digital series Celebrity Substitute, which features celebrities surprising kids at public schools and attempting to teach them what they’re famous for. Season 1 included Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh teaching acting, Billie Eilish teaching songwriting and Kenan Thompson teaching improv comedy.

Other “teachers” this year include Reneé Rapp, Gigi Hadid and Malala Yousafzai. The first episode drops Sept. 10, with Rapp in the classroom. The show is executive produced by the songwriting team Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who brought you the music for Dear Evan Hansen, La La Land, The Greatest Showman, and many other TV shows and films.

In other Ed Sheeran news, he’s continuing his PLAY album rollout with a series of “more intimate” shows in Europe and the U.K. Well, they’re “intimate” in that they’re not stadium shows, which is what he’s been doing lately. He’s also set a truly intimate show at New York City’s Irving Plaza on Sept. 24, and you can apply to win tickets for that now.

Blondie’s Debbie Harry is giving fans some insight into the band’s upcoming album.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Harry confirms that the album’s called High Noon and says fans should expect some variety on the record, which is normal for a Blondie album.

“I think our tradition has always been to cover a lot of different styles and to embody some different moods. So in that respect, it’s a very traditional Blondie album,” she says. “I think the thing that makes people carry on with us is that we’re excited about what we do, and we work hard at it, and it’s not sort of like, oh, well, I guess let’s do [an album].”

She adds, “We write songs. We write stuff that’s about our lives and about today.”

Harry also reveals that Sex PistolsGlen Matlock, who’s been playing bass with them since 2022, has contributed a song called “Sleepwalking” to the record.

“It’s just a wonderful song, and it really sticks in your head,” she says. “It reminds me of his contribution to the Sex Pistols; it has that feel to it. It’s a great, simple, three-chord, four-chord song with a great feel.”

Harry says the album contains “some really great dance music,” noting, “It’s very rock and roll, but yet, we’ve always managed to squeeze in elements of other sounds in music and other styles of music, other moods of music.”

“And Blondie has always done that,” she adds. “We’ve always embodied the present. So it feels like Blondie.”

So far there’s no word on exactly when Blondie will release High Noon. It will be the band’s first album since 2017’s Pollinator.
