The Police’s Andy Summers is taking his guitar on a global trek.

Variety reports that Summers will star in a new eight-part docuseries, Global Guitar, that will have the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer traveling around the world to learn about the global impact of the guitar through meetings with local musicians.

“This comes from a deeply authentic and personal space – an extension of something I’ve been doing my entire adult life,” Summers shares. “I’ve always been interested in the music of other cultures, and the guitar in particular.”

He adds, “It is absolutely the preeminent instrument in the world. Every culture has accessed it and made something of their own of it. It’s a very evolving instrument that just never seems to stop.”

Filming on the series is expected to take place in February and March 2026.

Next up for Summers, he’s set to kick off a fall leg of his The Cracked Lens + Missing String solo tour on Sept. 17 in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. A complete list of dates can be found at AndySummers.com.

Dionne Warwick wants fans to know she’s on the mend after recently undergoing emergency leg surgery.

“As most of you may know, I’ve had to cancel a few shows due to emergency leg surgery,” she posted on X. “I’m doing okay, do not worry!”

But it looks like recovery may have left Dionne a little bored.

“I need some show/movie recommendations while on the mend,” she added, although she warned, “Not Emily in Paris.”

When questioned about singling out the Netflix show, Warwick replied, “have no interest and her work visa has definitely expired by now.”

Dionne announced on Instagram Tuesday that she had been forced to bow out of Saturday’s Soul Town Festival in London. She revealed that the day she was supposed to fly out to the city she was in “unbearable” pain and was rushed into surgery.

David Bowie was working on a new musical when he died in 2016, according to the BBC.

Handwritten notes on the project, called The Spectator, were donated to the V&A Museum, along with the rest of Bowie’s archives. They describe the show as an “18th century musical” set in London, with Bowie interested in weaving together the art and culture of the city during the time period with criminal gangs of the era.

The notes, which were made available to the BBC, were discovered in Bowie’s locked study by archivists tasked with cataloging the late rocker’s things. They will now be on display as part of the David Bowie Centre at the V&A East Storehouse, which opens Sept. 13.

The museum has been given access to over 90,000 items related to Bowie. The David Bowie Center will feature nine rotating displays, one of which has been curated by Nile Rodgers, who produced Bowie’s 1983 album Let’s Dance and 1993’s Black Tie White Noise.

There will also be an exhibit curated by British band The Last Dinner Party that features items from the 1970s that represent how Bowie continues to inspire new generations of artists.

Free tickets to visit the David Bowie Center will be available at vam.ac.uk.

David Bowie’s final project was the album Blackstar, which was released Jan. 8, 2016, on his 69th birthday. The rocker died two day later on Jan. 10, 2016.

Jackson Dean‘s having a little flirty fun with his new track, “Make a Liar.”

“‘Make A Liar’ is a cheeky turn of phrase, and the song is a little bundle of stumbling, bumbling fun,” he says of the song he co-wrote. “Seeing the fans’ reaction to this one has been a real treat – I hope they love it!”

So far this year, Jackson’s put out the new songs “Be Your Man” and “Turn on the Lights,” following 2024’s On the Back of My Dreams. His sophomore album features his current top-15 hit, “Heavens to Betsy.”

A decade ago, Selena Gomez experienced a Revival — and now she’s celebrating that 10-year milestone.

Selena is releasing a Revival 10-year anniversary deluxe vinyl via her online store. The two-LP set includes the 14 tracks on the deluxe version of the album, including “Hands to Myself,” “Good For You” and “Same Old Love.” It debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 in 2015.

Notably, years prior to them becoming romantically involved, Benny Blanco, Selena’s fiancé, co-produced several tracks on the album and co-wrote “Kill Em with Kindness.”

Selena wrote in an email to fans, “I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since I put out revival. From ‘Same Old Love’ to ‘Good For You,’ you all have shown this album so much love and I couldn’t be more grateful for all your support.”

And in other Selena Gomez news, a wax figure of the star has been unveiled at Madame Tussauds Orlando. It shows her wearing the red beaded floral gown she wore to the MTV VMAs in 2023, where she won the best Afrobeats song trophy for “Calm Down.” It took nine months and a team of 20 studio artists to create the figure.

Nita Strauss is officially 10 years sober.

The Alice Cooper guitarist and solo artist commemorated the milestone in an Instagram post Friday that she headlined, “Made it.”

“I remember my first few weeks of sobriety with this vague idea of ‘I’ll see if I can do 10 years,'” Strauss writes. “At the time, that number was PREPOSTEROUS. Might as well be a million billion years!! I thought I’d just bide my time, wait until things calmed down in my life and then everything could go back to normal.”

She continues, “I had no concept of all the gifts sobriety would bring into my life and how much better the new normal would be!”

Strauss shares that “sobriety still does not come ‘easily’ to me,” adding, “It’s something that you work at quietly every day, on some days that it never crosses your mind and some days harder than others.” She also thanks her husband and friends for their support.

“Sobriety can be a solitary road but it’s important to know that you don’t have to walk it alone when you don’t want to!!” Strauss says.

Strauss will be back on the road with Alice Cooper on tour alongside Judas Priest kicking off Sept. 16 in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Miguel begins the rollout for his upcoming album, CAOS, with the surprise release of his new single, “New Martyrs (Ride 4 U).” It’s “a story about taking matters into one’s own hands to send a message—resounding and vulnerable all at once,” according to a press release. CAOS arrives on Oct. 23.

Lizzo follows up her previous mixtape with its sequel: My Face Still Hurts From Smiling. Like the original, the mixtape is filled with “bold vocals, memorable stadium-size hooks, and unmatched confidence,” per a press release. Lil Jon and Tierra Whack are on the EP.

Ice Cube previews his Man Up album with “Before Hip Hip,” out with an accompanying music video. “It’s easy and lazy to look at what’s going on in a lot of communities and blame hip-hop for everything. But the reality is the violence, pain, and broken systems were already here,” he says. “‘Before Hip Hop’ is calling out the revisionist, showing how crime and injustice existed long before hip hop music. We didn’t cause it — we just called it.” Man Up drops Sept. 12.

Queen Naija is starting a new chapter with “rain… .” “’rain…’ felt like the perfect song to open up with as I’m entering this new era,” she says in a statement. “A blend of sexy and sensual lyrics along with production that hits hard and brings you all the nostalgic feels. I had to remind y’all that no matter how versatile I can get, R&B will continue to run through my veins.”

Ice Spice and Latto hash out differences in the boxing ring in the new music video for “Gyatt,” a nod to their tension in the past. On the song, they rap about being desirable to men.

Lola Young has just released what she says is her “favorite” song from her new album, I’m Only F****** Myself, due out Sept. 19. It’s called “Spiders,” and in an email to fans, Lola says that making the yet-to-be-released video for the song cured her of her arachnophobia.

“i held a big a** spider for the video for my new song ‘Spiders’ and now i am no longer scared of them,” she writes. “This song is my favourite from my up and coming album. I know you guys are going to eat this one up. It’s a belter and still makes me cry when i hear it.”

“Sometimes i write a song and feel so proud to have written it,” she continues. “This is one of them, it’s out today. Enjoy, and next time you see a spider, try not to kill it.”

In a statement about the song, Lola adds, “Sometimes you want to kill what you’re most scared of in life, but when you actually face up to it, it’s really not as scary as you thought it would be.”

Lola will perform at the MTV VMAs on Sunday; she’s nominated for best new artist and best alternative for “Messy.”

On Sept. 23, she’ll be back in New York for a special Grammy Museum event in Brooklyn. Billed as “A New York Evening with Lola Young,” the event will feature Lola discussing her new album and her creative process, and doing a live performance. You can get tickets now at Universe.com.
