Count Usher among those who want to see Metallica shred Super Bowl halftime.
The R&B star, who headlined the big game’s halftime show in 2024, named the metal legends as his pick to play Super Bowl 60 in 2026 when asked by TMZ.
Beyond being endorsed by Usher, Metallica has another reason to headline the Super Bowl 60 halftime. The game will be held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, home of the San Francisco 49ers, and Metallica has long been based in the Bay Area.
Super Bowl 60 takes place Feb. 8, 2026. Before then, Metallica will perform in San Francisco when they take the stage at the Dreamfest benefit concert on Oct. 15.

Twenty-five years ago, Christina Aguilera sang “Come on over, baby.” But when you hear it now, it means that someone wants you to do that in real life.
In connection with her appearance at the Portola festival in San Francisco on Saturday, Christina has hooked up with the LGBT+ dating app Grindr to help you find your new hookup. From Sept. 15 through Sept. 22, instead of the distinctive Grindr notification “bloop” — which alerts you that you have a new match — you’ll hear a few seconds of Christina singing “Come On Over.”
“Portola, Grindr and me? That’s a threesome I can get behind,” Xtina says in a statement. “When that ‘Come on Over’ sound hits at the festival, or wherever you’re celebrating, I hope things get spicy!”
In an Instagram video promoting the partnership, Christina’s team is preparing her for her appearance at the festival when all of their phones start playing the song. “Guys, what the bleep is that?” she asks. They each make lame excuses and run off.
Christina then looks at the camera, smiles and winks, “Hi, gays. Are you ready to come on over?”

Response to Garth Brooks‘ June 17 show at Summerfest 2026 has been so great that they’ve added another concert.
The superstar will now also play June 16 at American Insurance Amphitheater.
“I can’t thank Milwaukee and the sweet folks at Summerfest enough for adding a second show,” Garth says. “To get the chance to play Summerfest is cool in itself, but to get to play it twice is stupid fun!”
Tickets for both shows are on sale now.
Just a few days later, Garth will head to England to play the Great Oak Stage at BST Hyde Park in London. Tickets for the June 27 concert go on sale Thursday.
Next up, Garth will make a rare 2025 concert appearance, headlining the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas racetrack in Austin, Texas, on Oct. 18.

Sammy Hagar is returning to Las Vegas.
The former Van Halen frontman has announced a new set of dates for his The Best of All Worlds Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM.
The latest Vegas stint will be made up of 11 shows, taking place March 11-21 and Sept. 18-26. Sammy will once again be joined by the Best of All Worlds Band, made up of Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, guitar great Joe Satriani, drummer Kenny Aronoff and multi-instrumentalist Rai Thistlethwayte.
“I can’t tell you how hard it’s been not to leak this announcement,” Sammy says. “Those last nine shows were some of the best shows I’ve done in my life.”
He adds, “I love this band like no other and can’t wait to do it again. One listen to the live residency record coming out and you will understand this is my idea of retirement! Beats golf any day.”
That live residency recording is Sammy’s upcoming album, Sammy Hagar & The Best of All Worlds Band – The Residency, dropping Oct. 10.

Demi Lovato, ‘It’s Not That Deep’ (DLG Recordings/Island Records)
Demi Lovato released two singles from her upcoming album without telling us the name of the project, or when it’s coming out. But we finally have the details.
Demi’s ninth studio album, It’s Not That Deep, will be out Oct 24. Demi said in a statement, “This music is a perfect reflection of where I’m at today. I had such an incredible time making this album with [my producer] Zhone and it was such a freeing experience to let loose and have fun with it.”
“With my past eras, I often wrote cathartic music about heavy topics that I needed to process. When I got back in the studio this time around, those songs just weren’t resonating anymore because I’m not in that place in life,” she continued. “I’m happy, I’m in love, and I just want to enjoy life and have fun.”
“I realized it’s not that deep anymore, and that became the ethos for this album,” she concluded. “It’s Not That Deep is meant for late nights and dancefloors, and I can’t wait for you all to dance with me.”
Demi added on Instagram, “this music is a reflection of where i am now. so proud of all the work I’ve done, and now, it’s time to celebrate and have some fun!!!”
The cover of the album shows Demi standing naked, holding a dress on a hanger in dry cleaner plastic up to her body to cover herself. Surrounding her is a collection of random people, including children and a dog, doing various things, like reading a newspaper, playing chess and chatting.
On Instagram, she thanked her collaborators for “helping me to make the cover art of my dreams. we created the most beautifully chaotic scene surrounding me.”
Adam Jones of Tool performs on the concert at Calle 2 on March 18, 2025 in Zapopan, Mexico. (Medios y Media/Getty Images)
Saturday’s boxing match between Canelo Álvarez and Terence Crawford featured a surprise appearance by Tool members Adam Jones and Danny Carey.
The guitarist and the drummer popped up ahead of the fight, which took place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, to perform a minute-long instrumental track.
No other details about the performance were announced — perhaps Jones has taken an interest in boxing after playing on the entrance theme for WWE wrestler Penta. Or maybe this is just another mysterious entry in the history of one of rock’s most enigmatic bands.
Whatever the case may be, you can watch Jones and Carey’s performance via the archived stream of the Álvarez vs. Crawford fight on Netflix.
Tool’s most recent performance was at the Back to the Beginning concert on July 5.
