Anderson .Paak‘s latest venture benefits youth who play soccer in Ventura County, California. It’s a partnership with GOAL Projects, a new initiative from GOAL, for which he designed soccer kits for the Oxnard Eagles girls soccer teams. The kit includes a black soccer ball, T-shirt and a limited-edition soccer jersey featuring the font used for several of Paak’s album covers, the #86 in honor of his birth year, the GOAL logo on the front and “Yes Lawd” on the back.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Oxnard Eagles team, and will be used to provide scholarships and help cover expenses like rent, practice equipment and transportation.

“Man, you have an opportunity to uplift kids in the same streets where I made my way, you give me a call,” Paak tells Billboard. “When GOAL came to me with this idea, I was all in. It wasn’t just about a jersey; it was about connecting music and soccer — two things that bring people together everywhere.”

“And the fact that every jersey helps out the Oxnard Eagles, these amazing young girls from my hometown? That’s the part that made it a no-brainer,” he continued. “It’s bigger than sport. It’s about community and giving these kids the chance to shine.”

The Anderson .Paak x GOAL Projects collection is now available at online and will be sold in person at the .Paak House Festival, taking place Oct. 11 on the California State University Channel Islands campus.

“.Paak House has always been about giving my community a VIP experience, showing kids and families that they deserve the same love and spotlight as anybody else,” says Paak. “It’s about creating spaces where people can come together, celebrate and feel supported.”

Cardi B recently released her new album, Am I the Drama?, but there’s a lot more music where that came from. She dropped the remix to the album cut “Errtime,” which features a few bars from Atlanta’s own Latto.

“G lock in my hip, I walk around with a switch/ I know this h* ain’t talking s*** with broke n**** on her lips,” Latto raps on the club record. “Like, how you let a rapper hit that ain’t even got no hits?/ Man, my thick a** went to fashion week, them dresses couldn’t even zip.”

The song marks Cardi’s second song with Latto, who she had shouted out on the original version of “Errtime.” They previously teamed on the remix to Latto’s song “Put It On Da Floor.”

It also arrives on the heels of another new track from Am I the Drama?: the newly released bonus track, “Don’t Do Too Much.”

Cardi B is set to go on her first headlining tour, for which the general sale starts Thursday. Before then, she will perform at the Global Citizen Festival Saturday in place of The Weeknd.

Bruce Springsteen has released another track from his upcoming box set, Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition, dropping Oct. 17.

The latest is a live version of “Open All Night,” recorded inside an empty Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, New Jersey. The song is part of Springsteen’s first-ever performance of Nebraska in its entirety. A film of the performance, directed by longtime collaborator Thom Zimny, will be featured on the Blu-ray included in the box set.

“The one thing that we didn’t do on the Nebraska album was we didn’t play it live, so my first thought when we were talking about celebrating the record was there’s got to be a performance, singing these songs from top to bottom,” The Boss shares.

On Instagram he adds, “I knew that the way to do it was no audience and no speaking … You just present the record, play it through, then you’re done.”

Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition will feature a 2025 remaster of the album, as well as lots of previously unreleased material, including the long-rumored “Electric Nebraska.” There are also solo outtakes, including additional songs from Springsteen’s original Nebraska home recordings that didn’t make the album, as well as recordings from a 1982 solo studio session.

Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition is available for preorder now.

On ‘Good Morning America,’ Lionel Richie talks about his ‘Truly’ candid new memoir

Lionel Richie‘s new memoir Truly is out Sept. 30 and he sat down with ABC’s Robin Roberts on Good Morning America on Thursday to talk about the book, his life and career.

Sharing a story he said he has never spoken aloud until now, Lionel Richie revealed that he “grew up totally in fear.” Raised in Tuskegee, Alabama, Richie recalled feeling anxious and uncertain as a child.

“I didn’t know what ADHD was. ‘Can you play baseball?’ ‘Eh.’ ‘Football?’ ‘No.’ ‘Basketball?’ ‘No.’ ‘Tennis?’ ‘Kinda,'” he said. “You know, it was just everything was ‘kinda.’ I was very anxious about everything. And at the same time, I kept tryin’ to fake it. I kind of found some new areas of my life that I didn’t know I had in me.”

Music eventually became his refuge. While his grandmother was classically trained in piano, Lionel himself can’t read music. Asked how this could be, Lionel laughed, “Listen, I don’t know, and I’ve asked God that several times. And it was said to me by Marvin Gaye, ‘There is an answer to this. Don’t go lookin’ for it. Just accept it.'”

Despite early ambitions of being a priest, Lionel instead turned to music, paving the way for one of the most celebrated careers in pop music history, starting with his years in the chart-topping group The Commodores

Lionel told Roberts that his favorite Commodores song is “Brick House,” even though he jokes that he thought his grandmother would “disown” him over its raunchy lyrics. “I thought it was kinda disgraceful myself,” he laughs. “Until it became a hit.”

After his “painful” split with the band, he launched a solo career, selling over 125 million albums worldwide and winning multiple Grammys, a Golden Globe, an Oscar and induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. He’s also been a judge on American Idol for eight seasons.

Lionel says of his memoir, “The stories are great. But what turned me into me was, the world said, ‘Hey, Lionel. I like what you’re doin’. Keep up the good work.'”

You can find more of Lionel Richie’s chat with Roberts on IMPACT x Nightline, streaming now on Hulu.

Jordan Davis was hooked by ‘Bar None’: ‘Dadgummit, I wish I would’ve thought of that’

Jordan Davis was hooked by ‘Bar None’: ‘Dadgummit, I wish I would’ve thought of that’
Jordan Davis was hooked by ‘Bar None’: ‘Dadgummit, I wish I would’ve thought of that’
Jordan Davis (Disney/Randy Holmes)

Since Jordan Davis has a hand in writing so many of his songs, he says he doesn’t get that many outside pitches.

But when he does, he has a process: He sends it to some people he trusts to see whether he should check it out or not.

Obviously his latest hit, “Bar None,” made the cut.

“I was on my way home,” Jordan recalls. “I listened to it. The hook is the first thing that grabbed me. I think as a songwriter, when you hear a hook like that, you’re kinda like, ‘Dadgummit, I wish I would’ve thought of that!'”

“And then I just, like, couldn’t stop listening to the song,” he continues. “I listened to it, got to my house, pulled on my street and was like, ‘Yeah, I need to take a few more blocks to keep jamming this one.’ And then woke up the next morning and was like, ‘Alright, I gotta record this song.'”

Jordan’s instincts have paid off, as “Bar None” is currently in the top five and climbing.
