Gilson Lavis, former drummer for the band Squeeze, has died. He was 74.

Former Squeeze keyboardist Jools Holland confirmed the news Thursday in a Facebook post, writing, “I’m very sad to report that Gilson Lavis my dear friend and long-standing drummer passed away at his home in Lincolnshire last night.”

Lavis drummed in Squeeze from 1976 to 1982 and again from 1985 to 1992. His tenure with the band included playing on the 1981 album East Side Story, which spawned the signature Squeeze song, “Tempted.”

Lavis later reunited with Holland to play drums in his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra. Holland had just announced on Oct. 24 that Lavis had retired.

“On behalf of my Orchestra, Squeeze, the many musicians who have worked with and befriended Gilson over the years and all the people he has supported through the AA fellowship, I send our love and sympathy to Nikki and Gilson, his dear wife and son,” Holland writes.

Silversun Pickups have announced a new album called Tenterhooks.

The seventh studio effort from the “Panic Switch” outfit, and their first since 2022’s Physical Thrills, is due out Feb. 6, 2026. Lead single “The Wreckage” is out now.

“We wanted to make a tight record that could fit on one vinyl with five songs on each side,” says frontman Brian Aubert. “To me, it’s an impatient, apprehensive, and more aggressive album.”

“We started recording when the world was changing again,” Aubert continues. “You invariably wonder, ‘What are we headed towards?’ Even if you’re not necessarily writing about it, it bleeds into how you’re feeling and approaching life. We stripped things down and went louder and rawer.”

Along with the album news, SSPU has announced a U.S. tour for 2026, running from Feb. 19 in Santa Ana, California, to May 18 in El Paso, Texas.

Tickets go on sale Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. local time. For the full list of dates and all ticket info, visit SilversunPickups.com.

Kings of Leon have announced a new EP.

The four-track set, dubbed EP #2, is due out Friday. It includes new songs called “All the Little Sheep,” “To Space,” “Pit to the Rind” and “The Wolf.”

Notably, Kings of Leon have never released an EP called EP #1, but the EP #2 cover artwork is decorated with images of cherries similar to the cover of the band’s 2003 debut EP, Holy Roller Novocaine. So perhaps EP #2 is considered a spiritual sequel to Holy Roller Novocaine.

The most recent KoL album is 2024’s Can We Please Have Fun. They’ve followed that with two collaborations with country star Zach Bryan, “Bowery” and “We’re onto Something.”

Kings of Leon will close out 2025 with a New Year’s Eve show in Las Vegas.

Daniel Caesar has earned his first #1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart with Son of Spergy. The album, which earned 43,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Oct. 30, tops the list dated Nov. 8. It also dominates the Top R&B Albums chart, and sits at #4 on the Billboard 200 and Top Album Sales charts. The Sampha-assisted track “Rain Down” tops the Hot Gospel Songs chart, becoming his first #1 on the list.

Summer Walker recreates Anna Nicole‘s wedding photo in the cover art for her upcoming album, Finally Over It. She wears a similar wedding dress and stands beside an elderly man, much like Anna standing beside J. Howard Marshall. Finally Over It, the final installment of Summer’s Over It series, arrives on Nov. 14.

Sexyy Red has joined the lineup for the return of Rolling Loud Australia 2026, taking place March 7 in Sydney and March 8 in Melbourne. She joins the first confirmed artist, Gunna, who will be headlining the two-day event. The festival marks the first time Rolling Loud has been in Australia since 2019.

To celebrate the first anniversary of her album Cut Ties, Kiana Ledé has announced its deluxe edition. She revealed guest appearances from Chlöe, Queen Naija and BJ The Chicago Kid. Fans will also be treated to a brand-new bonus track titled “Jury.” Cut Ties (Deluxe) drops on Nov. 21.

Beyoncé may be keeping quiet, but she’s seemingly aware of what’s happening on the internet. She released some holiday merch, including some that refers to online jokes that her daughter Blue Ivy is her manager. The BIC Zip Hoodie and burgundy jersey both feature Blue’s name and the word “Management.” The full collection is on Bey’s website.

Enter Lars? Jon Bon Jovi asked Metallica drummer about crafting set lists

Even if he’s seen and subsequently rocked a million faces, Jon Bon Jovi still seeks the advice of other musicians.

The “Livin’ on a Prayer” rocker tells the U.K.’s Planet Rock radio that he consulted Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich about coming up with a set list for Bon Jovi‘s 2026 tour, which includes nine shows at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

Jon shares that he was curious about Metallica’s No Repeat Weekend shows, where the metal legends would play two completely different set lists over two nights.

“I talked to Lars, I said, ‘So let me get this straight, if you’re only doing ‘Master of Puppets’ on one night and ‘One’ on one night, is the audience mad that they’re not there?'” Jon says. “He goes, ‘Nope, we have enough songs that it works.’ He goes, ‘And your catalog … .’ And I went, ‘I am digging that concept.'”

While Jon isn’t planning on going the full Metallica route and creating completely unique sets for each show, he notes, “I have enough songs and enough hits, I could do two separate entire shows and have hits on both sides.”

“I’m having a lot of fun putting together shows that are multiple night kind of shows,” he says.

Bon Jovi’s Forever Tour launches in July. It marks the band’s first full live run since Jon underwent vocal cord surgery in 2022.

The midnight train going anywhere is set to make its last stop.

Journey has announced their Final Frontier farewell tour, kicking off Feb. 28 in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The 60-city outing will come to a close July 2 in Laredo, Texas.

“This tour is our heartfelt thank you to the fans who’ve been with us every step of the way — through every song, every era, every high and low,” says founding guitarist Neal Schon. “We’re pulling out all the stops with a brand-new production — the hits, the deep cuts, the energy, the spectacle. It’s a full-circle celebration of the music that’s brought us all together.”

Alongside Schon, the Journey lineup for the tour will feature keyboardist Jonathan Cain, vocalist Arnel Pineda, keyboardist Jason Derlatka, drummer Deen Castronovo and bassist Todd Jensen. In October, Schon said that Cain had “announced his farewell to Journey” before Cain clarified that he “remains an active member” of the band.

Presales for the the Final Frontier tour begin Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. local time.

You may not be able to play guitar like Bruce Springsteen, but now you can get closer to playing like Jeremy Allen White playing Bruce Springsteen.

Gibson has announced a collection of acoustic guitars in connection with new movie Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, in which White portrays The Boss as he records his 1982 album, Nebraska.

The line includes guitars featured in and inspired by the movie, including models of the Gibson SJ-200. Springsteen used a late-1950s Gibson SJ-200 on Nebraska, and gifted one to White for the filming of Deliver Me From Nowhere.

For more info on the guitar collection, visit Gibson.com.

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere is in theaters now.
