A country singer in Nashville covering the Lit single “My Own Worst Enemy” got a very welcome surprise when members of the ’90s rock outfit joined him on stage.

Vocalist Ajay Popoff and his brother, guitarist Jeremy Popoff, were hanging around Nashville when they heard local musician Eric Van Houten playing an acoustic version of their inescapable 1999 hit at the Twelve Thirty Club restaurant and music venue. They then decided to sneak up behind Van Houten while grabbing a mic and an electric guitar before starting to jam out with him.

According to a press release, video of the interaction has racked up over 12 million views in 24 hours across several social media platforms.

Last week, Lit announced a podcast dedicated to “My Own Worst Enemy,” which will premiere November 23. The Popoff brothers and founding bassist Kevin Baldes will all take part in the series.

Harry Styles‘ fans have come to expect seeing his mom, Anne Twist, at his concerts, and, on Monday night, they were treated to an adorable sight.  According to those at Styles’ concert in San Diego, California, they saw the matriarch dancing up a storm with Olivia Wilde‘s two young children.

Wilde, who is believed to be dating the pop star, was also spotted at the recent concert.  Page Six reports that the actress brought her five-year-old daughter, Daisy, and seven-year-old son Otis to the show.

According to eyewitnesses, Twist began dancing with the kids as Styles belted out his classic hit from his One Direction days, “What Makes You Beautiful.”

Wilde shares Otis and Daisy with ex-partner Jason Sudeikis, whom she dated and later became engaged to between 2013 and 2020.

The House actress and Styles first sparked dating rumors in January 2021, with reports that the two grew close while filming the upcoming movie Don’t Worry Darling.  While the two have never publicly confirmed their relationship, they have often been spotted together.

In a recent interview with Dazed magazine, Styles explained why he doesn’t speak about his rumored relationships. “I’ve always tried to compartmentalize my personal life and my working life,” the Grammy winner simply said.

Dionne Warwick wants Jake Gyllenhaal to return Taylor Swift‘s scarf — and she’s willing to pay to make it happen.

Following the release of Red (Taylor’s Version) on Friday, the talk surrounding the infamous scarf that Swift references in the fan favorite song, “All Too Well,” has reemerged, and the legendary singer, 80, has entered the chat.

“If that young man has Taylor’s scarf he should return it,” Dionne tweeted, adding in a follow-up, “It does not belong to you. Box it up and I will pay the cost of postage, Jake.”

Although Taylor never confirmed that “All Too Well” is about Gyllenhaal, many are convinced that it’s based on the three-month fling the two celebrities had in 2010.  One major clue: The pair were allegedly photographed with the scarf on the way to visit Jake’s sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and the song’s lyrics go, “I left my scarf there at your sister’s house/And you’ve still got it in your drawer even now.”

The lyrics continue, “You keep my old scarf from that very first week/’cause it reminds you of innocence and it smells like me.”

In 2017, on Watch What Happens Live, Maggie Gyllenhaal was asked if she had the scarf, to which she replied, “I never understood why everybody asked me about this scarf. What is this?”

After host Andy Cohen explained, Maggie said, “I am in the dark about the scarf. It’s totally possible. I don’t know.”

Two months after the release of his debut album, Montero, Lil Nas X shared that two of the artists he really wanted on the project declined — Nicki Minaj and Drake.

During an interview with GQ, the “Industry Baby” rapper explained that while he doesn’t typically ask other artists for a feature, when it came to Montero, he was lucky enough to get most of the ones he wanted.

“I don’t usually ask for features like that,” he said. “But for every feature I did ask for on this album, like, every single one of them worked…besides Drake and Nicki [Minaj].”

Lil Nas, 22, went on to reveal that he wanted Nicki to appear on “Industry Baby” and Drake on “Dolla Sign Slime.” The songs currently feature Jack Harlow and Megan Thee Stallion, respectively.

In addition to Jack and Megan, Montero, which was released on September 17, also features assists from Miley Cyrus, Elton John, and Doja Cat

Nike is pressing pause on the release of its collaboration with Travis Scott “out of respect” for the victims of Astroworld.

The footwear company sent out a statement via its official sneaker release app, “SNKRS,” notifying fans of the decision on Monday.

“Out of respect for everyone impacted by the tragic events at the Astroworld Festival, we are postponing the launch of the Air Max 1 × Cactus Jack,” the update reads. There was no mention of a new release date.

For this latest collab, Nike and Scott’s Cactus Jack Records united to create the “Air Max 1 x Cactus Jack,” a pair of brown and tan Air Max 1’s. They were scheduled to be released on December 16 with a $175 price tag.

“The Air Jordan I celebrates Travis Scott, hip-hop artist, record label founder and Houston, Texas native,” the description on Nike’s website explains. “Details on the shoe, including a reverse Swoosh and hidden pouch, help set this edition of the storied sneaker apart for the rapper and producer, and for Cactus Jack Records.”

The delay comes after 10 people died and hundreds were left injured after a crowd surge during Scott’s set at the Astroworld Music Festival in Houston, Texas on November 5. More than 100 lawsuits have since been filed against the rapper and its promoter, Live Nation, according to the New York Post.

Tinashe enjoyed success and failure with a major label before going independent, and as she reflects on her career, she remembers that recording for a corporation made her lose her sense of identity.

“When you’re working with a company and there’s so many people that you have to please, you start to make these little tiny compromises here and there,” the “Throw a Fit” singer said in the Facebook show Face to Face with Becky G, according to People. “And before you know it, it’s too much and you’ve lost this sense of really who you are and what you want to do. I felt that in order to get that back, I needed to just do it on my own.”

In 2019, the singer launched her own label, Tinashe Music, and released her fourth studio album, Songs for You. Her latest album, 333, which dropped in August, is also on the label.

She says earlier in her career she was frustrated because, “I didn’t feel supported in my art and that’s when I really felt that I started to lose that confidence myself as a creative, because I felt that I had to make compromises to work in this business model.”

Tinashe recently wrapped up her 333 tour, and in addition to music, she’s expanding her brand. In October, the “2 On” singer launched her first shoe collection, in partnership with ShoeDazzle.

Face to Face with Becky G, featuring Tinashe, premieres on Facebook Watch on Tuesday at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT.

Long Train Runnin’ follows The Doobie Brothers from their Northern California origins in the late 1960s, through their emergence in the early-to-mid 1970s as a popular roots-influenced hard-rock band led by Johnston, to their transformation into a soulful pop-rock group when singer/keyboardist Michael McDonald took over frontman duties later in the ’70s, to the band’s early-’80s breakup and eventual reformation with Tom back in the fold, and beyond.

Tom and Pat co-wrote the book with Chris Epting, whose previous projects include memoirs co-written with and about Hall & OatesJohn Oates, Def Leppard‘s Phil Collen and Tesla‘s Brian Wheat.

Long Train Runnin’: Our Story of The Doobie Brothers can be pre-ordered now. Special bundles featuring the book packaged with such merch as a t-shirt, a mug and a tote bag are available at the band’s official online store.
