Riley Green reflects on the success of “Different ‘Round Here” + touring with Luke Combs

As “Different ‘Round Here” cracks the top 10 of the country charts, Riley Green is reflecting on the impact of his Luke Combs-assisted collab and how it’s breathed new life into his 2019 track.

“Well, it added quite a bit to have Luke Combs on the song. I’ll be honest with you, it was such great timing for that [to happen] too because I just was going out on a stadium tour with him and obviously I’ve been a fan of Luke for a long time,” Riley tells ABC Audio.

“So him being on that song was huge for me, but also I think [it was] really cool for fans because a lot of them knew that song already,” he says. “When you have somebody like Luke get on the song, you got to go hear that version of it, you know?”

As Riley comes off Luke’s recently concluded World Tour, he’s beaming with gratitude for the stadium-sized opportunity he had.

“I didn’t realize it at the time, but it was really special to be in front of that many people every week. You know what I mean? Every once in a while you’re doing a festival or something where there’s 30 or 40,000 people there, but to play in front of 50,000 every night and see that energy,” Riley shares in awe.

“And for me specifically, to see people singing those songs back to me and realize that Luke was where I was not too long ago,” he adds. “So it’s pretty cool to see his quick rise and obviously that we’re on the right track, people are relating to the music.”

“Different ‘Round Here” is currently #9 on the country charts and off Riley’s latest album, Ain’t My Last Rodeo

The Rolling Stones are not a big enough draw for Prince William

ABC/ Ida Mae Astute

While most people are dying to get their hands on tickets to The Rolling Stones’ upcoming Hackney Diamonds tour, future King of England Prince William needs a bit of an incentive.

The British magazine Hello! reports that at the Tusk Conservation Awards in London on November 27, William got to chatting with Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood. The rocker subsequently told the mag, “We were talking about the tour and I said ‘Come on, you’ve got to come out on tour!’ And we were talking about the new album and everything.”

But Ronnie said the prince had a condition before he’d agree to attend, noting, “William said [he would] if we could get Taylor Swift there.”

Wood said that when he informed William that Taylor had previously duetted with Stones frontman Mick Jagger — she joined the Stones onstage in 2013 and he joined her onstage in 2015 — William replied, “I’m there, then.”

The Stones Tour ’24 Hackney Diamonds, sponsored by AARP, kicks off Sunday, April 28, at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, and wraps Wednesday, July 17, at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, California. A presale for AARP members runs from Wednesday, November 29, to Thursday, November 30, with tickets going on sale to the general public Friday, December 1, at 10 a.m. local time. A complete list of dates can be found at therollingstones.com.

Music notes: Charli XCX, Ariana Grande and more

Charli XCX is engaged to The 1975 drummer George Daniel. In an Instagram post on Tuesday, November 28, Charli shared a batch of photos featuring her and Daniel embracing, as well a picture of an engagement ring in its box. In the caption, she wrote, “charli xcx and george daniel f****** for life!!!”

We’ve had Ariana Grande‘s “Santa Tell Me” for almost a decade. The pop star celebrated the nine-year anniversary of her Christmas song over on TikTok. Ari posted a clip filled with bloopers from the track’s music video shoot from back in 2014. “tis the season!” she captioned the video, alongside hearts and a face emoji shedding a single tear. “almost ten years ago.”

The music video for Dove Cameron‘s “Sand” is here. The single is from the first volume of her two-part debut album, Alchemical: Volume 1, which releases December 1. On a molten lava-covered landscape, Dove plays the piano as she sings the haunted ballad. She is later joined by a dancer, who holds her close as they perform together.

It appears Travis Kelce bought Taylor Swift a custom basketball jersey from his alma mater, the University of Cincinnati. This news comes from Nancy Ross, a sewing operator at Koch Sporting Goods. She posted the jersey to her Facebook page. “Well today I received the order for [Travis] Kelce,” her caption read. “UC Jorden [sic] men’s basketball jerseys sets for him and his brother and two friends, and of course his girl.” Taylor’s jersey is emblazoned with her lucky number 13, of course.

Dua Lipa is returning to The Tonight Show. The Grammy winner will sit down with Jimmy Fallon for the Monday, December 4, show.

Watch Keke Palmer’s new video for her song “Serious”

Aaron J. Thornton/Getty Images for BET

Fresh off of her hosting duties at the 2023 BET Soul Train Awards, Keke Palmer‘s got a new music video out.

It’s the accompanying visual for her song “Serious,” a breakup ballad about a relationship gone wrong.

“Seem like we fallin’ out of place (place)/ Moved you from my space (space)/ Know you pressed ’cause you got me blocked, blocked/ The old me would’ve stayed, I ain’t on that page/ There ain’t nothin’ left for me to say,” she sings.

The start of the video sees a seemingly unconscious Keke coming back to life to haunt and torture a love interest who “can’t be serious” about not loving her correctly. After a failed attempt at trying to reprogram the man, Keke walks away from what should’ve been a successful partnership.

“Serious” is one of four tracks added as the deluxe version of Keke’s Big Boss album.

Prince William tells Rolling Stones member he’ll come see them — if Taylor Swift is there

Paul Natkin/Getty Images

Future King of England Prince William has already been revealed as a fan of AC/DC, but it turns out he’s apparently a Swiftie, too.

The British magazine Hello! reports that at the Tusk Conservation Awards in London on November 27, William got to chatting with guitarist Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones, who’ll be heading out on tour next year. Wood subsequently told Hello!, “We were talking about the tour and I said ‘Come on, you’ve got to come out on tour!’ And we were talking about the new album and everything.”

“William said [he would] if we could get Taylor Swift there.”

Wood said that when he informed William that Taylor had previously duetted with Stones frontman Mick Jagger — she joined the Stones onstage in 2013 and he joined her onstage in 2015 — William replied, “I’m there, then.”

William and Mick happen to have that in common. At a charity fundraiser in 2013, William got pulled onstage to sing “Livin’ on a Prayer” with Taylor and Jon Bon Jovi.

Shinedown shares ’The Library Sessions’ performance special

Scott Legato/Getty Images

Shinedown has shared a new performance special dubbed The Library Sessions.

The 17-minute video, streaming now on YouTube, includes acoustic performances of Shinedown’s current single, “A Symptom of Being Human,” and the ATTENTION ATTENTION track “GET UP.” In between, the band members share fan-submitted stories about mental health and how music has helped them.

The release of The Library Sessions coincides with Giving Tuesday and is raising money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

“For over a decade, we have had the honor of working with the AFSP,” says frontman Brent Smith. “Mental health is not a term to be taken lightly under any circumstances. We are all a work in progress, and we will all be challenged in our lifetime. That being said, we know we live in a world that has countless obstacles that we must overcome on any given day, and at times it can feel overwhelming.”

“Remember, life is a journey,” Smith continues. “When we got the chance to sit down together and read fan-submitted stories, it once again showed us the power of humanity and served as yet another reminder that we’re not alone. This was something to be celebrated.”

If you are in crisis or know someone in crisis, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or contact the Crisis Text Line by texting HOME to 741741.
