What happens when you mix Doja Cat with a Courtney Love song?  You get Taco Bell’s next Super Bowl ad.  The Grammy nominee takes on Hole‘s haunting rock tune “Celebrity Skin” for the advertisement and fully flexes her vocal prowess on the cover.

The ad, which is streaming now on YouTube, finds Doja stuck in a school for clowns that’s constantly bombarded by an announcement that “the ice cream machine is still broken” — a thinly veiled shot at Taco Bell’s fast food rival McDonald’s.  Doja and her fellow clowns soon find an escape from the monotony, which is soundtracked by her version of “Celebrity Skin.”

Taco Bell also released a behind-the-scenes video that features clips of Doja recording her take on the 1998 hit and of her goofing off on set, as well as portions of the advertisement.  While the video contains her cover in full, it is set to be officially released this Friday.

Those familiar with the track may notice some of the lyrics are different in this updated version, and that’s because they were “reworked in partnership” with Love, according to a press release.

The Super Bowl and it’s impressive lineup of star-powered commercials airs this Sunday, February 13, at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

Foals has released a new song called “2am.”

The track will appear on the U.K. band’s upcoming album, which now has a title: Life Is Yours. The follow-up to 2019’s two-part Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost is set to drop this summer, exact date TBA. Life Is Yours also will feature the previously released single “Wake Me Up.”

“Musically ‘2am’ is one of the poppiest songs we’ve ever written,” says frontman Yannis Philippakis.

“It’s about repetitive cycles of destructive behavior, which I think lots of people can relate to, and certainly it’s an expression of something that I struggle with,” he adds. “There’s something cathartic about expressing that feeling to this upbeat music that’s got a sense of release and the hope of resolution.”

You can listen to and download “2am” now via digital outlets.

When the 2022 ACMs nominees list arrived on Thursday morning, Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde both got multiple mentions.

They’re going head to head in the Female Artist of the Year category, and both artists agree it’s an honor to be in the mix alongside such talented women. “There’s nothing better than celebrating alongside all the powerhouse female artists in this category,” says Ashley.

For Carly, inclusion in this category is extra special, because she shares quite a bit of history with one of the 2022 ACMs co-hosts: Dolly Parton. “All those years in the shows at Dollywood, you’d imagine…but maybe never truly dream,” says Carly, who cut her teeth as a Dollywood performer. “To be nominated this year with Dolly hosting? It’s beyond a dream.”

Carly and Ashley are more than just competitors: Their duet, “Never Wanted to Be That Girl,” is up for Video of the Year and Music Event of the Year, too.

“What a treat to be nominated with my friend Carly,” adds Ashley. “Thank you to the fans for listening to our stories and for sharing yours in return. These moments wouldn’t exist without you.”

The 2022 ACM Awards will stream live from Las Vegas at 8 p.m. ET on March 7 on Amazon Prime Video. Along with Dolly, Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett are co-hosting the show.

Video footage was circulating online Thursday of DaBaby delivering a bowling alley beatdown to Brandon Bills, the brother of the rapper’s ex, DaniLeigh.

In a video posted to YouTube, DaBaby and his crew can be seen attacking Bills across several slippery bowling lanes at the Los Angeles establishment as bystanders shout and film on their cell phones. The FADER reports DaBaby is now being investigated for assault.

DaniLeigh, who shares a daughter with DaBaby, responded to the fight on her Instagram Story, writing, “Lame as hell!!!! Running up on my brother on some slippery a** floors with 5/6 of ya boys while he’s by himself and not even touching him!!!”

“Lame and soooo sad!!!” she continued. “I pray this stops now !!! BC this is my family! and I got a daughter to raise. Sad.”

DaniLeigh’s post was captured by the Shade Room before she apparently deleted her Instagram account entirely.

Bills also spoke out about the altercation on his Instagram Live, saying he tried to talk to DaBaby “like a man” and that he was “jumped.”

For some backstory on the bad blood, DaBaby called the cops on DaniLeigh back in November, resulting in her being charged with two counts of simple assault. Bills later challenged DaBaby to a fight if he ever came to the West Coast.

The 10th anniversary event will take place over four days, June 30-July 3, at its usual location, Montage Mountain in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

In addition, a group called Trouble No More will celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Allman Brothers’ 1972 album Eat a Peach. Fans can catch quite a few celebrity appearances in the music video for “Cold Beer Truth,” the latest new song to be released from Chris Janson.

Kid Rock is just one of the stars to make an appearance in the clip, playing the role of a buddy showing up to have a good time in a honky tonk alongside the singer and several other pals.

But it’s not just country music that gets the all-star treatment: Chris tips his hat to his love of NASCAR, too. The video includes footage from the RCR Racing Museum that features Richard Childress, the famed NASCAR driver and partner of late racing legend Dale Earnhardt. Former Alabama football player John Cassimus and legendary fisherman Bill Dance also turn up in the video.

“Cold Beer Truth” is the newest song to arrive off of Chris’ forthcoming studio album, All In. “This video pays tribute to all the good buddies out there in America who have made some great memories while sharing some cold beer truth,” Chris explained when he released the song and music video.

Also featured in the video are the singer’s wife, Kelly, and their children, plus some other family members and loved ones.

Chris has already shared two songs off of All In: The album’s title track and its lead single, “Bye Mom.”

Courtney Love‘s study in demonology has a new student.

Rapper and pop star Doja Cat has recorded a cover of the Hole song “Celebrity Skin” for a new Taco Bell commercial.

The ad, which is streaming now on YouTube ahead of its TV premiere during the Super Bowl this Sunday, finds Doja stuck in a school for clowns that’s constantly bombarded by an announcement that “the ice cream machine is still broken” — surely a shot at Taco Bell’s fast food competition, McDonald’s. Doja and her fellow clowns soon find an escape from the monotony, which is soundtracked by her version of “Celebrity Skin.”

You may also notice Doja singing some different lyrics from the original ’90s alt classic, which a press release says were “reworked in partnership” with Love.

The cover will be officially released this Friday. You can check out a behind-the-scenes video from the recording session now on YouTube.
