Jeris Johnson is losing his sight, losing his mind over his collaboration with Papa Roach getting snubbed by the Grammys.

The TikTok musician, who teamed up with Jacoby Shaddix and company earlier this year for a new version of their signature single “Last Resort,” has released a video asking why the track wasn’t nominated in the Best Rock Performance category for the 2022 ceremony.

“It was literally one of the biggest rock songs of the entire year, coming from a brand new artist and a legacy band,” Johnson says in the clip. “It got way more streams and attention than any of the other songs on that list did besides…AC/DC.”

That AC/DC song would be “Shot in the Dark,” the lead single off the “Back in Black” legends’ 2020 comeback album, Power Up. The other Best Rock Performance nominees are “Making a Fire” by Foo Fighters, “Ohms” by Deftones, the late Chris Cornell‘s cover of “Nothing Compares 2 U,” and Black Pumas‘ “Know You Better (Live from Capitol Studio A).”

“Instead of highlighting something that’s actually bringing rock into the future and pushing things forward, you just keep nominating the same irrelevant corpses from, like, 80 f***ing years ago,” Johnson says. “Make it make sense.”

Given Cornell’s posthumous nod, Johnson may come to regret using the word “corpses.” And while the Foos and Deftones are certainly veteran artists, Black Pumas just released their debut album in 2019.

Johnson, by the way, isn’t the only musician unhappy with the Grammy rock nominations — Machine Gun Kelly tweeted, “wtf is wrong with the grammys” after his album, Tickets to My Downfall, got shut out.

Whether you’re happy with the nominations or not, the 2022 Grammys take place January 31.

With one month left before we ring in the new year, it’s time to look at who ruled the music streaming charts in 2021.  Spotify is out with its annual year-end “Wrapped” lists and says its users couldn’t get enough of Taylor SwiftBTS and Olivia Rodrigo.

When it came to the most popular songs in the U.S., Olivia claims first and second place with her respective hits “drivers license” and “good 4 u.”  Doja Cat‘s “Kiss Me More” collab with SZA is the third most-popular song of 2021, while Glass Animals‘ “Heat Waves” and Dua Lipa‘s “Levitating,” with DaBaby, round out the top five.

Spotify crowned Olivia’s “drivers license” the most-streamed song in the world, with more than 1.1 billion global streams. Parking right behind her on the global streams chart is Lil Nas X‘s “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” while The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber‘s “STAY” takes third.  Olivia also snags the fourth most-streamed song of 2021 with “good 4 u,” while Dua’s “Levitating” ranks fifth.

Olivia also claims a first-place finish on another Spotify chart, with her debut SOUR topping the most-streamed albums list.  Dua is in second with Future Nostalgia, while Justin is third with Justice. Closing the top five is Ed Sheeran‘s = (Equals) and Doja’s Planet Her.

Of all the artists previously mentioned, only Justin ranks among the world’s top-five most-streamed artists.  The “Peaches” singer placed fifth on this year’s roundup — right after fellow Canadian Drake, who’s fourth. BTS has “Permission to Dance” after finishing 2021 in third place, while Taylor will ring in the new year knowing she’s the second most-streamed artist on the planet.

So, who’s Spotify’s top artist of 2021? Boasting over 9.1 billion streams, it’s Latin superstar Bad Bunny.

Garth Brooks is continuing to pile up 2022 Stadium Tour dates. The singer just announced a stop in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for Saturday, April 30.

The show will mark Garth’s first Louisiana date in nearly five years, and it’ll also be the first time he’s ever played this particular venue, Tiger Stadium. You should act fast to grab your seat: It’s the only time Garth is planning to play Louisiana or Mississippi in 2022.

Garth resumed booking dates on his Stadium Tour last month. He’d hit the brakes on booking new shows earlier in the year amid the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. In the meantime, he continued his Dive Bar Tour of smaller shows, and also performed a handful of intimate shows at legendary Nashville venues the Ryman and the Grand Ole Opry.

As ever, Garth’s newest Stadium Tour date will feature in-the-round style seating, and tickets sell for $94.95, all-inclusive. You can snag your spot at the show beginning Friday, December 10 at 10 a.m. CT.

Former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett has announced plans to bring his Genesis Revisited: Seconds Out + More Tour to North America next spring.

The 35-date outing will begin with four shows in Canada, kicking off with a March 26-27 stand in Oakville, Ontario, then moving on to Quebec City on March 29 and Montreal on March 30 before heading to the U.S. for the remainder of the trek.

The stateside portion of the tour gets underway on April 2 in Boston and works its way across the country, wrapping up with a May 19 concert in Seattle.

The Genesis Revisited: Seconds Out + More Tour features Hackett and his solo band performing his former group’s 1977 live album Seconds Out in its entirety, as well as additional songs from Genesis’ back catalog and selections from his latest studio album, 2021’s Surrender of Silence.

Some of the U.S. shows are make-up dates from Hackett’s postponed 2020 and 2021 tours, and those concerts also will include a full performance of Genesis’ 1973 studio album Selling England by the Pound.

Seconds Out was a double album that was released in October 1977 and was mostly recorded during shows that Genesis played in Paris in June of that year. Seconds Out was the last new album that Genesis released featuring Hackett.

“I’m thrilled to bring Seconds Out back to life, featuring Genesis material at its most exciting and virtuosic,” says Steve. “This time with all numbers played in full plus additional surprises!”

Hackett wraps up his 2021 itinerary tonight with a show in Paris. For his full tour schedule and to purchase tickets, visit HackettSongs.com.

Keith Urban reveals plans to hit the road in 2022, plus new Las Vegas residency dates
ABC

Keith Urban is gearing up for a big return to the stage in 2022, starting with three new dates in Las Vegas.

Next Memorial Day weekend, Keith will return to the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace to continue his Keith Urban Live – Las Vegas residency. The three shows are booked for May 27-29, and tickets go on sale next Friday, December 10 at 10 a.m. PST.

But that’s just the beginning for fans hoping to see Keith live in concert next year: In June, he’s launching his The Speed of Now World Tour. He’ll kick off the North American leg of the run June 17 in Tampa, with an extensive list of dates on the books between then and when the tour wraps in November 2022. Ingrid Andress will join Keith for the North American leg of The Speed of Now World Tour.

In a video announcement, Keith addressed his fans from his backyard, where he was busily prepping for the live show. In a series of comedic maneuvers, Keith tries his best to capture the energy of a sold-out show, but the grassy lawn is now match for a packed arena, and his unimpressed gardeners are a far cry from screaming fans.

“I’ve always considered myself a live performer first,” explains Keith, on a more serious note. “It’s what I’ve always done and it’s what my music needs to live and breathe. Our shows are all about living in the moment. They’re a totally interactive and immersive experience where everyone can participate in whatever way they want — sing, dance, do whatever.”

Like all his holiday specials in years past, Michael Bublé’s Christmas in the City, airing next Monday night, will feature a lineup of special guest stars.

Billboard reports that Camila Cabello, Jimmy Fallon and R&B singer Leon Bridges will all join Michael for the show. Billboard points out that Michael’s toddler daughter, Vida, is evidently a fan of Camila’s: Last year, she joined her dad in singing Camila’s hit “Señorita” during a livestream.

There will also be two unexpected guests: Kermit the Frog and Hannah Waddingham, the Emmy-winning actress who plays Rebecca on the AppleTV+ show Ted Lasso.  Fans of the show know that in addition to being a great actress, Waddingham is also a talented singer.

A 48-piece orchestra will also be accompanying Michael as he celebrates the 10th anniversary of his hit 2011 album, Christmas.

“I’m especially excited about this year’s show and our phenomenal guests,” Michael said in a statement, according to Billboard. “It will be a night to remember and I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone.”

Christmas in the City premieres Monday, December 6 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.

Hamilton stars Anthony Ramos and Jasmine Cephas Jones won’t be getting their storybook ending, because their relationship has reportedly come to an end.

The former couple, who met in 2015 and became engaged in 2018, reportedly “previously ended” their engagement prior to the official split, sources tell Page Six. A specific timeline was not given.

Neither Ramos, 30, nor Cephas Jones, 32, have publicly commented on their relationship and reps have declined to comment.

The pair reportedly met six years ago while on set of Hamilton when it was still off-Broadway and began dating shortly after.

Ramos nor Cephas Jones have posted about each other recently on social media. In June, Cephas Jones raved about her partner’s role in In The Heights, writing, “@anthonyramosofficial… Can’t even describe how proud I am of you. You continue to shock the world with your enormous talent and big kind heart. You deserve it all and more. Happy in the heights day!!! #fortheculture.”

And, In July, Ramos celebrated his then-fiancée in an Instagram post dedicated to her birthday.

“Every year seems to bring you closer to the things you love most, with the people you love most, with a heart filled with more love than before,” he wrote. “Keep touching this earth Queen. HBD.”
