Billie Eilish‘s James Bond theme “No Time to Die” won the Best Original Song — Motion Picture award at the 2022 Golden Globes.

The track, which Eilish co-wrote with her brother and collaborator, FINNEAS, previously won Best Song Written for Visual Media at the 2021 Grammys. It’s also on the shortlist to be nominated for Best Original Song at the 2022 Oscars.

Eilish first released “No Time to Die” in February 2020 ahead of the film’s then-imminent release. However, it was delayed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic before finally premiering in the fall of 2021.

The 2022 Golden Globe took place Sunday with a “private event,” and winners were announced via Twitter and press releases. The long-running show, which is conducted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, came under fire in the past year after a Los Angeles Times exposé revealed the HFPA hadn’t included a Black member in 20 years, and accused it of other unethical behavior. It was subsequently dropped by its broadcast partner, NBC.

Before Euphoria‘s long-awaited season two premiered on Sunday, Zendaya issued a short warning to viewers.

“I know I’ve said this before, but I do want to reiterate to everyone that Euphoria is for mature audiences,” the actress, who stars in the teen drama, wrote in an Instagram post just hours before the HBO Max series aired.

“This season, maybe even more so than the last, is deeply emotional and deals with subject matter that can be triggering and difficult to watch. Please only watch it if you feel comfortable. Take care of yourself and know that either way you are still loved and I can still feel your support,” Zendaya continued. “All my love, Daya.”

Euphoria follows “a group of high-school students as they navigate a mine field of drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love and friendship in today’s increasingly unstable world,” as described by HBO Max. The show’s first season debuted in 2019.

When she decided to thank the people who work with her on her Rare Beauty cosmetics line, Selena Gomez went big.

The singer and actress took out a full-page ad in the Sunday New York Times’ Styles section to publish an open letter, in which she gives props to her team for “all your hard work in making the brand such a beloved part of our community.” Rare Beauty launched in September of 2020.

Selena wrote, “If you’re wondering why you’re seeing this letter in the New York Times, it’s because I wanted to give your accomplishments the platform they deserve…Rare Beauty is so much more than just one person.”

“My goal with Rare Beauty was to launch a brand that helped shape the dialogue around the beauty of self-acceptance and embracing your uniqueness — something that has been desperately needed in the beauty space,” she wrote. “The heart of this brand is in recognizing that we’re not meant to look a certain way, and that we’re all unique and different and that’s something that should be celebrated.”

Selena then went on to specifically thank the team for “making an impact” with the Rare Impact Fund, which aims to raise more than $100 million over the next 10 years to deliver mental health resources to underserved areas.  So far, it’s donated $1.2 million.

Selena also thanked the team for “building a community,” for “prioritizing mental health in the workplace,” and, “of course, for developing an amazing line of vegan, cruelty-free products for all to feel good in.”

She concluded, “With over 200 products at Sephora locations…and 16 awards and counting — there’s no stopping us!”

You can read the full letter on Selena’s Instagram.

How far would you go to see a free Doja Cat concert?  One fan’s scheme to get into a free show by the singer over the weekend in Indianapolis, IN ended up with his arrest.

The Indianapolis Star reports that just before 5pm on Saturday, concertgoers lined up for first-come, first-served entry into Monument Circle, where the show — part of AT&T’s Playoff Playlist Live concert series — was being held.  But when one fan attempted to jump the line by claiming he had a bomb, he was taken into custody.

“A fan wanted to advance in line so he exercised very poor judgment and told those around him in line he had a bomb in his backpack,” Deputy Chief Joshua Barker told the paper. “Someone did the right thing and alerted IMPD. The backpack was clean.”

In a Twitter message, police later revealed that the man had “unrelated outstanding warrants and was promptly arrested for those.”

The show, which also included AJR, was part of the festivities surrounding the College Football Playoff national championship on Monday.

After being postponed in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Elton John‘s Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour finally gets going again with a 2022 U.S. leg that kicks off January 19 in New Orleans.

Elton’s longtime guitarist and music director Davey Johnstone tells ABC Audio that he’ll be heading to New Orleans this Friday to start rehearsing with the rest of the band, albeit without Elton himself.

“I rehearse the band before Elton comes anywhere near, ’cause he hates to rehearse,” Johnstone reveals. “He is very impatient. There’s no way he can do rehearsal.”

Davey says that for the first few days of rehearsal, he employs a good friend, singer/pianist Adam Chester, to serve as a “surrogate Elton.”

“[Adam] plays great piano, and he loves to come in and sing Elton songs and play piano,” Johnstone explains. “[T]hen Elton will come in for a few hours. And then on the 19th, we do our first show, and off we go.”

Since Elton’s tour was put on hold in 2020, the pop-rock legend has released a new studio album, The Lockdown Sessions, which features collaborations with an eclectic variety of music stars.

Asked if any of these guest artists might show up to perform at select tour dates, Johnstone offers, cryptically, “I can’t really tell you right now, but there might be something that will happen that is a bit different, that you wouldn’t expect. It’s not quite a guest, but almost.”

As for whether he has any say about which songs are included in the set, Davey notes, “[Elton and I] very much collaborate on what the set’s gonna be. But obviously, as the singer and the star of the show, final cut is his call.”

Demi Lovato reportedly completed another rehab program last year.

A source tells People the singer privately underwent treatment to maintain their ongoing sobriety journey, following their near-fatal overdose in 2018. Demi has since returned home.

“Demi is committed to their well-being, and throughout their life, they plan to do regular check-ins to make sure they are putting themselves first,” the insider tells the mag.

In early December, Demi gave an update on their sobriety, posting on Instagram that they were no longer “California sober” — meaning they were no longer using marijuana and alcohol. They also recorded a song of that name for their album Dancing With the Devil…The Art of Starting Over.

“I no longer support my ‘California sober’ ways,” they wrote. “Sober sober is the only way to be.”

Following her rehab treatment after her overdose, Demi initially said they were cutting out all substances except marijuana and alcohol, which they would use in moderation.

Over the weekend, Demi also debuted a brand new tattoo on their newly shaved head. They got the image of a spider inked on one side of their scalp.

Woodstock festival co-creator Michael Lang dead at age 77

Michael Lang, co-organizer of the 1969 Woodstock festival and its subsequent anniversary events Woodstock ’94 and Woodstock ’99, died on Saturday, January 8, at age 77, Variety reports.

Family spokesperson Michael Pagnotta revealed to the publication that Lang passed away at a New York City hospital from a rare form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

In 1969, Lang teamed up with songwriter and music producer Artie Kornfeld and financial investors Joel Rosenman and John Roberts to co-create the Woodstock Music and Art Fair, held August 15-18 in Bethel, New York.

Billed as “3 Days of Peace, Love and Music,” the festival became one of the iconic events of the “Flower Power” era, featuring performances by many of the biggest rock acts of the day, including Jimi Hendrix, The Grateful Dead, The Who, Janis Joplin, Santana, Sly and the Family Stone, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Jefferson Airplane, Joe Cocker and many others.

For many years, Michael served as Joe Cocker’s manager, and he also managed several other acts.

Lang also helped organize the 25th anniversary Woodstock festival, Woodstock ’94, which was held August 12-14 on a farm near of Saugerties, New York. That event featured a mix of artists who’d played the 1969 fest and contemporary acts from various genres.

Five years later, Lang co-produced the ill-fated Woodstock ’99 festival, which was held July 22-25 on a former Air Force base in Rome, New York. The event has been portrayed as the antithesis of the 1969 Woodstock, and has become known for the many reported incidences of violence, alleged sexual assaults, fires and other vandalism by some of the attendees.

Lang also attempted to organize a 50th anniversary Woodstock festival that initially was scheduled to take place in August 2019 in Watkins Glen, New York. A huge, star-studded lineup with major artists from various genres was confirmed, but the festival, called Woodstock 50, was thrown into limbo when the company providing financial backing pulled out. Michael and his fellow organizers tried to find a new financial backer and a new site for the fest, but the event eventually was canceled.

Lang is survived by his wife, Tamara, and five children.

A message paying homage to Michael has been posted on the official Woodstock social media pages that notes, “He was a producer, father, environmentalist, friend, husband and most of all, one-of-a-kind dreamer whose mark on the world is undeniable.”
