Keith Urban is busy hearing blind auditions as a coach on this season of The Voice Australia, and one contestant, Kaylee, shocked the country superstar with a song she wrote just for him.
Aptly titled “Keith,” the song name drops more than 10 of Keith’s biggest hits, including “Somewhere in Your Car,” “Long Hot Summer” and “We Were.”
Kaylee’s tribute to the country superstar didn’t hurt her case, but it was her powerhouse voice and guitar skills that earned her a four-chair turn. Keith was the first to decide he wanted her on his team, of course, with fellow coaches Jess Mauboy, Rita Ora and Guy Sebastian quickly following suit.
It seemed like a no-brainer that Kaylee would choose Keith to be her coach, but there was a twist: Jess hit the block button, preventing Kaylee from joining the country superstar’s team, in an attempt to woo her into joining her team instead. The cut-throat move paid off: Ultimately, Kaylee joined Team Jess.
But Keith still shared some kind words for his superfan contestant, according to The Daily Mail’s recap.
“I’ve never had any song written about me before,” he professed. “That’s so touching, Kaylee. It really is. I can’t thank you enough for that.”
Ellie Goulding has confirmed that new music is on the way, after performing a secret, intimate concert in London.
British publication the Daily Mail reports that Ellie performed an ultra-exclusive Secret Socials with Hilton concert Wednesday night, where she sang her greatest hits, including “Love Me Like You Do” and “Lights.” Just 80 people, including Ellie’s husband, Caspar Jopling, were invited to watch her perform.
Upon wrapping her set, Ellie told the crowd, “I’ve missed being on stage performing to my amazing fans. It was great to do it in such an intimate setting.”
“I loved seeing how surprised everyone was and having one of my closest friends, [TV presenter] Fearne [Cotton], to cheer me on in the crowd definitely made the night one to remember,” the 35-year-old singer added.
But she saved the biggest reveal for last — telling everyone, “Next time I’ll perform with a bunch of whole-new songs!”
Ellie didn’t go into detail about what this could mean — whether it be a new album or single — but fans are certainly excited that they won’t have to wait too much longer.
The Grammy nominee’s last single was “Love I’m Given,” which she released in August 2020. Ellie’s last album, Brightest Blue, also came out in 2020.

April 20 marked the fourth anniversary of Avicii’s death, and Aloe Blacc, the vocalist on the Swedish DJ’s hit “Wake Me Up,” marked the occasion by posting a video that shows him singing the song in three different languages.
“Avicii’s music touched the world. Writing the lyrics and recording the vocals on WAKE ME UP was a transformative experience for me,” writes Aloe in the comments. “Everywhere I’ve been, no matter the country, music lovers and fans sing the lyrics with me in English.”
He goes on to write, “In honor of Avicii and with the help of Metaphysic.ai and Respeecher.com, I present a very special international version of WAKE ME UP in multiple languages.” In the video, Aloe sings the song in Mandarin, Spanish and English.
According to Billboard, Metaphysic.ai is a content company, and Respeecher uses AI to make one person speak in the voice of another specific person, so it appears as though Aloe had some technological help in appearing to sing both languages flawlessly.
“Wake Me Up” peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart for 26 weeks.
Fellow superstar DJ David Guetta also paid tribute to Avicii on Wednesday, posting a video of the late star, born Tim Bergling, being goofy. He wrote, “4 years already. We all miss you very much @Avicii.”
After struggling with mental health issues and physical health challenges for several years, Bergling died by suicide in Oman in 2018.

Architects have premiered a new single called “When We Were Young.”
The track is an original, not a cover of The Killers, and while we’re slightly disappointed we don’t get to hear vocalist Sam Carter sing the “He doesn’t look a thing like Jesus” line, we still get a riff-heavy, anthemic tune.
You can listen to Architects’ “When We Were Young” now via digital outlets.
“When We Were Young” follows Architects’ 2021 album For Those That Wish to Exist, which spawned the singles “Animals” and “Dead Butterflies.”
Architects will launch a U.S. headlining tour in support of For Those That Wish to Exist in September.
Elton John‘s fourth studio album, Madman Across the Water, released in late 1971, is getting the 50th anniversary reissue treatment.
You can choose from a three CD/1 Blue-ray Super Deluxe Box Set, a four-LP, colored vinyl package, or a two-CD package, which are now available for pre-order. The release date is June 10.
Madman Across the Water features the classics “Tiny Dancer” and “Levon,” as well as the fan-favorite title track and “Indian Sunset,” which was later sampled on the Eminem-produced Tupac Shakur track “Ghetto Gospel.” That song topped the British charts for three weeks in 2005.
Madman Across the Water also was Elton’s first album to feature the full lineup of his Elton John Band, and features Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman playing organ on three songs.
The package includes a previously unheard piano demo of “Tiny Dancer,” which will be available to stream later Thursday, though a teaser is out now.
Among the goodies on the Super Deluxe version are demos, rarities, single edits, a live radio recording, two British TV performances, a 104-page book, photos, artwork, interviews and memorabilia.

Three months after her arrival, the name of Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra‘s daughter has been revealed.
In January, the couple welcomed their first child via surrogate, but didn’t reveal its name or sex. Now, following TMZ’s initial report Wednesday, People magazine has confirmed that her name is Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. TMZ also reported that according to the birth certificate, Malti arrived January 15 at a San Diego hospital.
Malti is a common female Indian name.
Nick and Priyanka have been married for three years. In January, a source told People that the couple were “truly eager to be parents,” adding, “They are beyond excited. Nick and Priyanka have wanted a baby for some time.” Another source dished, “Now is their time, and they could not be more ready to raise a child.”
Lady Gaga may not have received an Oscar nomination for her most recent film, House of Gucci, but at least one legendary, Oscar-winning star is totally down to make a movie with her.
Dame Helen Mirren was seen tightly hugging Gaga at the Screen Actors Guild Awards earlier this year, and even appeared to be wiping away the star’s tears. Asked by W magazine what the two talked about at the event, Mirren explained, “We didn’t really talk — we just emotionally engaged. She’s a beautiful person. She’s very, very, very special.”
Mirren revealed that she’d previously met Gaga and her parents at an event at which the “Rain on Me” star was performing, and noted, “What an amazing performer she is on every level. She’s also very, very vulnerable, and very sweet. I think we were just having a little girl love fest.”
When W magazine suggested that one day the two might-co-star in a movie together, Mirren liked the idea, responding, “Yeah, wouldn’t that be wonderful? I’d love that. That would be brilliant.” She also predicted that she and Gaga would have “good chemistry.”
Mirren is the only person to have achieved the so-called ‘triple crown of acting’ in both the U.S. and the U.K. In the States, she’s won an Oscar, a Tony and four Emmys; in the U.K., she’s won the equivalent honors: a British Academy Film Award, a Laurence Olivier Award, and three British Academy Television Awards.
Earlier this month, Police drummer Stewart Copeland was honored with a Grammy for Best New Age Album for Divine Tides, a 2021 collaborative project he recorded with Indian-music composer Ricky Kej.
It was Copeland’s sixth career Grammy, but his first for a recording project not involving his famous band.
“I am the boss of New Age!” the 69-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer jokingly boasts to ABC Audio.
“I can finally tick that box,” he declares. “I mean, how many rock drummers…in fact, technically, it could be argued that I am a punk rock drummer, since that story started out in ’77…[So,] punk rock drummer wins New Age Grammy…That’s cool.”
Copeland notes that he’d first worked with Kej a few years ago on another project, and Ricky then reached out and asked if he’d like to play percussion on his new album.
“[H]e started sending me these…tracks that he was…assembling,” Stewart recalls. “And I just was immediately inflamed by the beauty of his melodies and the mix that he was creating, so I started miking up all my crotales, timbales, whatchamacallits and thingamajigs, and started aggressing upon inanimate objects here [in my studio]…and kind of created a rhythmic envelope for all of the beautiful melodies that he was assembling.”
Divine Tides is just one of Copeland’s many recent non-rock projects. This Saturday, Satan’s Fall, an oratorio Stewart composed based on John Milton‘s Paradise Lost that first debuted in 2020, will get its West Coast premiere at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.
A Satan’s Fall also is scheduled for May 8 in Minneapolis with VocalEssence, which, Copeland notes, are “one of the premier choirs in the nation.”

National Geographic and Disney+ have announced that the fourth installment of its Emmy-nominated series Genius will tell the story of the iconic civil-rights leaders Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and MalcolmX.
The announcement names A Different World writer Reggie Rock Bythewood and his wife, Gina Prince-Bythewood, as the show’s executive producers, and they say in a join statement, “Malcolm and Martin are staggering icons, and we have been eager to explore the genius of these two very real men in a way that has not yet been seen. We are excited to team up with Imagine Entertainment and 20th Television to reflect their amazing lives and contributions to civil rights and the urgency of today.”
In a first for the franchise, the new season will focus on both leaders’ pioneering accomplishments, their formative years, their contributions during the civil rights era and each of their different, yet necessary, approaches to the fight for the advancement for Black people in America.
Nat Geo premiered the series’ first installment, Genius: Einstein starring Geoffrey Rush, in 2017. That was followed by Genius: Picasso, featuring Antonio Banderas‘ portrayal of Spanish painter Pablo Picasso. The third installment, Genius: Aretha, starred Cynthia Erivo as Aretha Franklin, and its premiere was the most-watched telecast for National Geographic in two years.
The fourth installment, Genius: MLK/X, and subsequent seasons, will move from Nat Geo to the series’ new home on Disney+.
Def Leppard has debuted a second advance track from their forthcoming 12th studio effort, Diamond Star Halos, a melodic rock gem called “Take What You Want” that kicks off the album.
“Take What You Want” combines all the elements of the classic songs from Def Leppard’s heyday, including a jangly guitar intro, catchy riffs, soaring vocals, and blazing guitar solos.
The track is available now via digital formats. “Take What You Want” was preceded by the album’s first single, the rocking “Kick.” The band also released a music video for “Kick.”
As previously reported, Diamond Star Halos, which is due out May 27, is a 15-track collection that’s the band’s first album of new original tunes since 2015’s self-titled effort. It can be pre-ordered now as a deluxe package, a two-LP set and digitally, among other configurations.
Diamond Star Halos includes two duets with acclaimed country/bluegrass artist and longtime Def Leppard fan Alison Krauss — “This Guitar” and “Lifeless.” In addition, famed David Bowie pianist Mike Garson plays on two songs — “Goodbye for Good This Time” and “Angels (Can’t Help You Now).”
Diamond Star Halos will arrive in advance of Def Leppard’s 36-city Stadium Tour of North America with Mötley Crüe, Poison and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. The trek gets underway June 16 in Atlanta, and is mapped out through a September 9 concert in Las Vegas.
