Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: The 1975 deleted their social media profiles.

As of Monday morning, the group’s Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages are all deactivated. But while you may not be able to like a tweet or photo from Matty Healy and company at the moment, the good news is new music is likely in the works.

As any longtime 1975 fan will tell you, the band has a history of social media chicanery, which is often a prelude to a new album announcement. They pulled similar stunts leading up to their last two records, 2018’s A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships, and 2020’s Notes on a Conditional Form, and even pretended they were breaking up ahead of the reveal for 2016’s I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it.

The 1975’s most recent release is the 2021 single “Spinning,” featuring Charli XCX and No Rome. Healy has also teased new music under the moniker Drive Like I Do, which was one of The 1975’s first band names.

After taking aim at Pete Davidson, Kid Cudi and others over the weekend on Instagram, Kanye West is now making a plea for his family.

On Monday, Valentine’s Day, Ye posted a photo of his ex Kim Kardashian wearing a sparkly long coat. He captioned the pic in all caps, writing, “I DON’T HAVE BEEF WITH KIM I LOVE MY FAMILY SO STOP THAT NARRATIVE IM NOT GIVING UP ON MY FAMILY I BOUGHT THIS COAT FOR KIM BEFORE SNL I THOUGHT IT WAS PARTICULARLY SPECIAL I HAVE FAITH THAT WE‘LL BE BACK TOGETHER.”

Kanye then addressed the media, writing, “SOMETIMES PEOPLE CALL ME CRAZY BUT TO BE IN LOVE IS TO BE CRAZY ABOUT SOMETHING AND I AM CRAZY ABOUT MY FAMILY HAPPY VALENTINES.”

In now-deleted posts over the weekend, Ye dissed Davidson, who’s currently dating Kim, as well as Kid Cudi and Machine Gun Kelly, for being friends with Pete. Cudi responded, calling Ye a “dinosaur” and tweeting, “You ain’t no friend.”

On Sunday, Ye attended the Super Bowl with his kids North, 8, and Saint, 6.

The ninth installment of the star-studded Rock Legends Cruise, which originally was supposed to take place sail in February 2021, but was postponed because the COVID-19 pandemic, finally sets sail today from Port Canaveral, Florida.

One of the nautical rock extravaganza’s headlining acts this year is Deep Purple, and the famed British hard-rock band’s founding drummer, Ian Paice, tells ABC Audio that this is the first time his group has ever played this type of event.

Asked how he feels about doing the cruise, Paice explains, “I’m not trying to get any pre-formed ideas about it. I’m sure it’ll be very nice to spend a week in Florida in the middle of winter on a boat where I don’t have to work too hard, and I can wander off to a bar whenever I feel like and have a nice exotic tropical drink.”

To warm up for the cruise, Deep Purple played two gigs in Florida this past week, which were among the band’s first live performances since the pandemic began in 2020. Since that time, Deep Purple has released two studio albums — 2020’s Whoosh! and last year’s covers collection Turning to Crime.

Paice says the band likley won’t include too much material from the new albums on the cruise, noting that the performance time is limited and “the people on that boat are gonna want to hear those classic songs.”

Deep Purple currently has no other U.S. shows scheduled for this year, but Paice says, “[A]ssuming that everybody is fit and healthy and still wants to do it…then [the band will tour the States in] 2023.”

The Rock Legends Cruise IX runs through February 18, and also features Styx, Don McLean, ex-Eagles guitarist Don Felder, Blue Öyster Cult and many more.

Shinedown just announced the details of their new album Planet Zero last month, but the “Second Chance” outfit already has a follow-up in the works.

“There’s a whole another record written,” frontman Brent Smith tells ABC Audio.

“That’s another thing that we’re trying to figure out right now, too,” he shares. “We didn’t just go in, write these potential songs, and then that was it. We had a whole other section of things.”

Naturally, of course, Smith and his band mates are focusing their energy for now on Planet Zero and its topical themes.

“These songs are the most important for right now,” Smith says.

That doesn’t seem to be a problem with fans, who’ve helped propel the Planet Zero lead single and title track to the top 10 on Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart in just two weeks since its premiere.

Shinedown now has a total of 28 top-10 Mainstream Rock Airplay hits, tied with Tom Petty for second-most in the chart’s 40-year history. Foo Fighters have the most, with 29.

Planet Zero will be released April 22.

Neil Young & Crazy Horse release animated video for new song “Don’t Forget Love” ahead of Valentine’s Day

With Valentine’s Day taking place this Monday, Neil Young & Crazy Horse have debuted a new animated lyric video for their song “Don’t Forget Love,” which appears on the group’s latest album, Barn.

The clip, which was directed by Neil’s wife, actress Daryl Hannah, features a series of animated drawings created by Gary Ward. Among the many images depicted in the art are a human heart, a couple kissing, a hand flashing a peace sign, a hand holding a few roses, a rain cloud, a rainbow, the sun shining on the moon and the Earth, and animals including bears, an owl, a dove and a blackbird.

The delicate song features sparse instrumentation, driven by piano, with lyrics that encourage “don’t forget love” when negative things are happening in your life.

In a brief video interview with Young posted in December on his YouTube channel, Neil explains, “I wrote that song for myself so that whenever I start to lose it I can just listen to that and go, ‘I wrote that. Why can’t I just do that?’ So, you know, a lot of it’s cheap therapy. Very cheap.”

As previously reported, Barn was recorded last June in a restored 19th century barn Young owns in the Colorado Rockies, and was released in December. A documentary about the making of the album, also called Barn and which Hannah also directed, premiered around the same time as the record’s release, and currently is streaming for free on Neil’s YouTube channel.

Sting‘s latest solo album, 2021’s The Bridge, features a song titled “For Her Love.” Now the former Police frontman has released a Spanish-language version of the tune called “Por Su Amor.”

The new track, which is available now globally via digital outlets, was recorded during Sting’s recent trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where he was inspired by the scenery of Baja, California, and the views of the Gulf of California.

The Spanish lyrics for “Por Su Amor” were written by musician, songwriter and producer Martin Kierszenbaum, who is also Sting’s manager. Martin also co-wrote of “For Her Love” and co-produced The Bridge album with Sting, as well as contributing contributed keyboards to “Por Su Amor” and The Bridge.

You can check out a lyric video for “Por Su Amor” at Sting’s official YouTube channel.

Sting will give “Por Su Amor” its premiere performance on the 2022 edition of the long-running Latin music awards show Premio Lo Nuestro, which will air February 24 on Univision.

Sting has recorded other songs in Spanish in the past, as well as in Portuguese and French.

Lost alum Jorge Garcia has joined the cast of Rob Zombie‘s upcoming The Munsters film.

According to the “Dragula” rocker, Garcia will play an original character named Floop in the movie. Zombie describes Floop as the “hunchback assistant” of the character Dr. Wolfgang, as well as Herman Munster’s “best buddy.”

Garcia, you may recall, played Hurley on all six seasons of Lost. His other credits include roles in the Hawaii Five-0 reboot and the Adam Sandler film The Ridiculous Six. He also has a connection to the music world, having been the cover model for Weezer‘s 2010 album, Hurley.

Zombie’s The Munsters, an adaptation of the classic 1960s TV show, is currently filming in Budapest. Sherri Moon Zombie, Rob’s wife and frequent star of his films, will play Lily Munster, while Herman is set to be portrayed by Jeff Daniel Phillips.

This Saturday marks the 50th anniversary of the release of The Allman Brothers Band‘s classic fourth album, Eat a Peach.

The record, a two-disc set that includes a mix of studio tracks and live performances, is the band’s last album to feature founding slide guitarist Duane Allman, who died in a motorcycle crash at age 24 on October 29, 1971, not long after the sessions began.

Although Eat a Peach had no hit singles, it features what became many of The Allman Brothers Band’s most popular songs, including “Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More” and “Melissa,” both written by lead singer/keyboardist Gregg Allman; “Blue Sky,” penned by singer/guitarist Dickey Betts; and a memorable cover of blues great Elmore James‘ “One Way Out.”

The live tracks — “One Way Out,” “Trouble No More” and the epic “Mountain Jam” — were recorded at the same run of 1971 New York City shows that yielded the band’s At Fillmore East album.

“Mountain Jam” is a 34-minute-plus improvised instrumental based on British folk-rocker Donovan‘s 1967 hit “There Is a Mountain.” To fit the jam onto the album, it was split into two parts and took up two full sides of the double LP.

Eat a Peach peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200, The Allman Brothers’ highest-charting album up to that time, and has been certified Platinum by the RIAA for 1 million units sold in the U.S.

In 2020, Eat a Peach was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

Here’s the album’s full track list:

“Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More”
“Les Brers in A Minor”
“Melissa”
“Mountain Jam” (live)
“One Way Out” (live)
“Trouble No More” (live)
“Stand Back”
“Blue Sky”
“Little Martha”

Report: Rihanna considering baby name that honors her Barbadian heritage

Although we don’t know when Rihanna will give birth to her first child, we may know a bit about what she will name her little one.

According to Us Weekly, the “Umbrella” singer will chose a name that honors both her and father A$AP Rocky’s heritage.  “Rihanna wants her Barbados heritage honored when she names her child, [as well as] A$AP’s roots,” a source dished to the outlet. “They want both of their cultures included. It is very important to them to keep where they are from passed down to their child.”

The insider adds Rihanna has her work cut out for her because she “has admiration for so many strong women and men in her family” and that means she has “a lot of names to pick from for a starting point.”

This will be the first child for Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, both 33, who confirmed in a series of intimate photos last month that they were expecting.  The two have yet to reveal a due date, or if they’re painting the nursery blue or pink.

But, going off a previous report from Us Weekly, we might get an answer this spring because — according to another one of their alleged insiders — that’s when the baby is due.

Snoop Dogg accused of sexual assault in new lawsuit

Just days before he’s set to take the Super Bowl halftime show stage, Snoop Dogg is being sued for sexual assault and battery by a former backup dancer.

Page Six reports that the lawsuit was filed Thursday in California by a woman identified only as Jane Doe. The woman alleges the rapper forced her to perform a sex act after one of his performances in late May 2013.  She also names Snoop’s friend, hip hop personality Bishop Don Juan, in the suit.

A spokesperson for Snoop, birth name Calvin Broadus, told Page Six on Friday that the allegations are “simply meritless” and “appear to be part of self-enrichment shakedown…to extort Snoop Dogg right before he performs during this Sunday’s Super Bowl halftime show.”

“To be clear, Mr. Broadus has never has had any sexual encounter whatsoever with [the plaintiff],” the rep continued.

Snoop has not yet personally commented on the situation, but earlier this week he posted a cryptic message on Instagram, writing, “Gold digger season is here…keep ya guards up.”
