Before Mandy Moore captured our hearts on the hit NBC drama This Is Us, she was a major pop star. This summer, the actress will be returning to her musical roots.

Mandy announced Tuesday that she not only has a brand-new single, “In Real Life,” out now, but she’s also following up with an all-new album and will be heading out on her first tour in over a decade. The album, titled In Real Life, will be released on May 13 and is available now for pre-order.

“So much of this record came from future-tripping on the next chapter of my life and what it might look like: what parenthood would feel like, how it would change everything, and all the excitement and trepidation that comes with that,” Mandy said of her new single. “At the same time it was about celebrating and acknowledging where we were at the moment and really trying to be completely present in the everyday — which is maybe the hardest part of the human condition.”

Mandy said that theme is present in her upcoming studio effort, explaining, “Even though this album is very specific to me and my experience — there’s songs about my baby, my husband, my father, my friends — I hope everyone’s able to see their own lives in it. I hope they’re able to come along on the journey with me, and put themselves in the driver’s seat.”

Mandy’s upcoming tour kicks off June 10 in Atlanta, Georgia. She’ll visit 26 locations in all. Tickets are on sale now on her official website.

After more than 200 failed attempts at passing anti-lynching legislation, the Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Act was unanimously passed Monday night.

The bill, which finally designates lynching as a federal hate crime, is headed to President Joe Biden’s desk to be signed into law.

“While this will not erase the horrific injustices to which tens of thousands of African Americans have been subjected over the generations, nor fully heal the terror inflicted on countless others, it is an important step forward as we continue the work of confronting our nation’s past in pursuit of a brighter and more just future,” Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said on the Senate floor, according to ABC News.

In a 422-3 vote, the House approved the bill last month, after being blocked in 2020 by GOP Sen. Rand Paul. The senator supported the bill this time, saying, “I’m pleased to have worked with Senators Cory Booker and Tim Scott to strengthen the final product & ensure the language of this bill defines lynching as the absolutely heinous crime that it is, and I’m glad to cosponsor this bipartisan effort.”

The maximum prison sentence under the Anti-Lynching Act is 30 years.

The bill is named after Emmett Till, a Black teenager who was brutally beaten and killed in Mississippi in 1955 after being accused of offending a white woman. His death and his mother’s decision to hold an open-casket funeral, to show her son’s terrible injuries, became a pivotal moment in the Civil Rights era.

ABC

Machine Gun Kelly‘s hoping his wedding bells will be accompanied by the sounds of BTS.

In an interview on Ellen, the “Bloody Valentine” rocker picked the K-pop superstars after host Ellen DeGeneres asked him which boy band he’d want to perform at his upcoming nuptials to Megan Fox.

“Which boy band am I gonna know the most songs of? For sure *NSYNC,” Kelly answered. “But which band do I surprisingly know all these facts about? BTS.”

“I met them at the Billboard Awards, they were, like, stoked to meet me,” he added. “I think I have a better chance of getting BTS to come.”

Maybe BTS could play a mash-up of one of their songs with Kelly’s music: say, “Buttery Valentine”?

Kelly and Fox got engaged this past January.

Gabby Barrett on meeting Dolly Parton: “She was wonderful”

Like most people, Gabby Barrett was charmed by Dolly Parton when they met for the first time.

Gabby and Jimmie Allen got to work alongside Dolly when they all co-hosted the ACM Awards on Monday night, but Gabby met the legendary singer for the first time the night before the ceremony, and had nothing but kind words to say.

“She was wonderful, of course,” Gabby shares with Entertainment Tonight. “When I stood next to her to practice and rehearse, I gave her a hug. I’m like, ‘am I hugging her too tight? Am I not hugging her tight enough?,’ just thinking of all these things.”

Both singers made history at the show in Las Vegas, as 76-year-old Dolly became the oldest host in ACM Awards show history, while Gabby is the youngest at the age of 22. But Dolly put any worries the former American Idol contestant had to rest with her friendly demeanor.

“It went really good, she’s very sweet, very kind,” Gabby describes. “She made me fee very comfortable so I’m thankful for that.”

Gabby took the stage multiple times during the show, performing Faith Hill‘s “Let’s Go to Vegas” during the opening number with Jimmie, and later singing a cover of Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance.”

As previously reported, the Main Offender reissue will be available in multiple formats and configurations, including a limited-edition super-deluxe box set featuring remastered CD and vinyl versions of the album, as well as a bonus live album on CD and two LPs.

Garth Brooks had two special guests in the audience during his show at Petco Park.

Jennifer and Jordan Turpin, two of the 13 children who lived in the “House of Horrors” that made national headlines a few years ago, attended Garth’s show over the weekend, where they got to meet the superstar and his wife, Trisha Yearwood

Both women took to Instagram to share their experience, with Jennifer sharing how Garth’s music was a saving grace while living under the abuse of parents David and Louise Turpin. “I had a Garth Brooks DVD collection while living through hell. When D & L were gone, I’d sneak and play it on our television. Thank you @garthbrooks for being a light through our darkness,” Jennifer shared alongside a photo of her posing with the star couple inside the stadium.

Jordan also shared a photo with Garth and Trisha, all smiles as she wrapped Garth in a hug. “I had so much fun today! I love you Garth, amazing show tonight! Thank you so much!” she writes. “God bless!”

In 2018, Jordan managed to escape from the family’s house in California and called 9-1-1 to report years of abuse from her parents that included imprisonment, beatings and severe malnourishment. In 2019, David and Louise were sentenced to life in prison, with the possibility of parole after 25 years.

Garth re-launched his Stadium Tour at Petco Park in San Diego on Saturday after postponing the tour due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
