Nick Jonas is on cloud nine to be the father of an adorable baby girl, Malti Marie, whom he shares with wife Priyanka Chopra.

Speaking to Today, the Jonas Brothers singer opened up about being a first-time dad. “Life is beautiful,” he said. “She’s a gift and we’re just so blessed that she’s back home.”

Mother’s Day, May 8, Nick and Priyanka spoke openly about finally being a family of three. The couple revealed their daughter was born in January and spent “100 plus days in the NICU.” Nick and Priyanka had thanked the medical teams at Rady Children’s La Jolla and Cedar Sinai in Los Angeles “who were there selflessly every step of the way,” but declined to reveal the health complications that caused Malti’s NICU stay.

Nick again declined to speak about his daughter’s health in his new interview, but did joke that he and his brothers have yet to produce a single grandson for their parents.

“The Jonas family keeps growing. A lot of girls,” the “Jealous” singer quipped. While not referencing brother Joe Jonas and his wife Sophie Turner‘s unborn child, which will be their second, Nick said his parents are “thrilled” to be the “grandparents of four beautiful granddaughters.”

Joe and Sophie share a 1-year-old daughter while Kevin Jonas and his wife, Danielle, share 7-year-old Alena Rose and 5-year-old Valentina Angelina.

If you aren’t able to catch the Jonas Brothers at their Las Vegas residency, you will be able to eat some of their favorite food when the restaurant started by their parents opens in Sin City later this summer.

According to a press release, Kevin Jonas Sr. and wife, Denise, will open Nellie’s Southern Kitchen at MGM Grand in June. The restaurant features the experience of “live music, generous hospitality and timeless Southern comfort food,” per the release.

The restaurant is named in honor of KevinJoe and Nick Jonas‘ great-grandmother Nellie, who was a force in the kitchen. “Nellie combined music and food into nightly rituals around the table, which forged the tight-knit traditions that the Jonas family continues to this day,” the statement continued.

“This June will mark the beginning of our bringing to the Strip a celebration of the food and hospitality from my hometown combined with a few surprises we have in store for Las Vegas,” Kevin Sr. said in a statement. “It is a surreal moment for our family to have Grandma Nellie’s name in lights at the iconic MGM Grand.”

This is the second Nellie’s Southern Kitchen to open shop — the first being in Belmont, North Carolina, the city Nellie called home.

Not much is known about the Vegas menu or what programming options the Jonas family is working on, but more detail will be issued “in the coming weeks.”

Meanwhile, the Jonas Brothers will take over the Dolby Live at Park MGM for their Jonas Brothers: Live in Las Vegas residency, which runs June 3 through June 11.

Former White House deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre held her first briefing in her new role as press secretary on Monday afternoon.

Upon taking the podium to address journalists’ questions — the first Black and openly gay woman to do so on an official basis — Jean-Pierre opened the briefing by mentioning the names of the Black lives lost in Saturday’s Buffalo supermarket shooting.

Replacing former press secretary Jen Psaki, who served in the role under President Joe Biden from January 2021 to May 13 of this year, the Fort-de-France, Martinique, native acknowledged the historical accomplishment and honored those who made the feat possible.

“I would not be here today if it weren’t for generations of barrier-breaking people before me,” she said. “I benefit from their sacrifices, I have learned from their excellence. I am forever grateful to them.”

In an emotional speech from the podium in which she announced her departure earlier this month, Psaki welcomed her successor, saying, “She will give a voice to so many.”

Almost a year ago this month, Jean-Pierre anchored her first White House briefing, where ABC News Senior White House Correspondent Mary Bruce asked her about making history at the podium.

“It’s a real honor to be standing here today,” Jean-Pierre said. “I appreciate the historic nature, I really do, but I believe that being behind this podium, being in this room, being in this building is not about one person. It’s about what we do on behalf of the American people.”

While Jean-Pierre will be the first Black woman to officially hold the title, she is preceded by Judy Smith, a deputy press secretary who took the podium in 1991 on behalf of President George H.W. Bush.

The rap hit, which samples Fergie’s number-one 2007 hit song “Glamorous,” rebounded from last week’s third-place finish. Fans streamed “First Class” over 31.1 million times and snatched up an additional 8,000 downloads of the single.

Harlow also performed his smash hit at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday and pulled out all the stops for his spectacular set.

Harry Styles’ “As It Was” remains in second place on this week’s chart, boasting 23.2 million additional streams and 7,500 additional copies sold. The song will be featured on the British singer’s forthcoming album, Harry’s House, which arrives this Friday.

Elsewhere in the top 10, Lizzo’s “About Damn Time” jumped from 19th to ninth place thanks to the song’s newfound viral fame. The Who made an emotional return to Cincinnati on Sunday to play their first concert in the city since the band’s infamous December 1979 show at the Riverfront Coliseum, where 11 young people died as fans rushed the venue’s doors before the event.

The British rock legends’ show on Sunday was the first concert ever at Cincinnati’s new TQL Stadium.

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Who guitarist Pete Townshend addressed the crowd during the show, saying, “I’ve been trying to think of why to say, what would be cool to say, what would be uncool to say, and really there’s no words that we can say that can mean [as much as] the fact that you guys have come out tonight and supported this event. Thank you so much.”

Townshend then referenced the fact the that The Who planned to donate proceeds from the concert to local charities, noting, “[Y]our money is going to great causes, many of which are related to what happened back here in Cincinnati in 1979, which is probably time for us to both remember and try to forget. … Anyway, it’s so lovely to be here.”

Prior to The Who taking the stage, a prerecorded video of Pearl Jam‘s Eddie Vedder was played, in which Vedder recalled how Townshend and Who singer Roger Daltrey gave him support after nine people were killed during a 2000 PJ concert in Denmark.

During Sunday’s show, photos of the 11 victims of the 1979 tragedy were shown on the video screen while Who touring keyboardist Loren Gold played the intro to “Love, Reign O’er Me.”

Also, 10 students from Finneytown High School, the school that three of the 1979 victims attended, joined the orchestra that accompanied The Who for the show’s final song, “Baba O’Riley.”

Arcade Fire‘s new album, WE, has debuted in the top 10 on the Billboard 200.

The sixth studio effort from the Canadian indie rockers lands at number six on the ranking with close to 32,000 equivalent album units, 26,500 of which were traditional album sales. That latter figure makes WE the best-selling album of the week.

Arcade Fire has previously hit number one on the Billboard 200 three times, with 2010’s The Suburbs, 2013’s Reflektor and 2017’s Everything Now. And while WE continues Arcade Fire’s streak of top-10 albums that began with 2007’s Neon Bible, it’s technically the band’s lowest-charting record since their 2004 debut, Funeral, which peaked at number 123.

Arcade Fire will launch a U.S. tour in support of WE in October.
