Is Kane Brown coming after Tim McGraw’s title as fittest guy in country music?
ABC

Tim McGraw’s diet and exercise regimen is renowned throughout country music. He even wrote a book on the subject, called Grit & Grace: Train the Mind, Train the Body, Own Your Life.

So when Kane Brown told Men’s Health about his plans to become “the fittest guy in country music” back in January, he knew he had some stiff competition. But Tim says that he wouldn’t mind handing over the title to the younger superstar, according to an interview with his record label.

“He’s a lot younger than I am, so I’m sure he won’t have any problem with that,” Tim says, adding that Kane has even stoked a friendly rivalry with him in the name of upping his fitness game.

“He’s actually sent me a message a couple of times when he started hammering it pretty hard,” the singer says. “He says, ‘I’m comin’ after you, I’m comin’ after you!’”

Always one to take on a challenge, Tim says he welcomes the competition. “And I was like, ‘Come on, brother, come on,’” he details.

Tim has always maintained a demanding workout schedule, but he took things to the next level during his role as James Dutton on the Yellowstone prequel 1883, where he and the rest of the cast embarked on “cowboy camp” in order to get to know the ins and outs of pioneer life.

Former Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum‘s memoir, Double Talkin’ Jive: True Rock ‘n’ Roll Stories, was published last month.

In the book, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer opens up about his dramatic and dangerous early years as a drug dealer, and recounts his many adventures with GN’R during his 1990-1997 stint with the band, as well as his work and exploits with many other well-known rock artists, including the supergroups Velvet Revolver and Kings of Chaos, The Cult, and ZZ Top‘s Billy Gibbons.

Double Talkin’ Jive also finds Sorum writing candidly about his struggles with drug and alcohol addiction, and reflecting on the pitfalls of rock stardom.

“[I]t was a wild ride through some emotional stuff,” Matt tells ABC Audio about his experience writing the book. “It was a lot of…growth in [doing] it. It was very cathartic. It gave me a really good opportunity to know that I’ve changed in a good way, thank God.”

As for his time with Guns N’ Roses, Sorum notes, “I traveled the world at the highest level, had so many amazing experiences all over the world….And to this day, I’m still recognized as the guy [from GN’R]…I’ve been out of the band [for about 25 years], but I still have that tagline, and people still respect that…I did that piece of work.”

He adds, “[The book is] a good read. I hope everyone enjoys it, just as a guy that sat up on the drum throne for a lot of cool bands and saw a lot of stuff.”

Double Talkin’ Jive is available now. Signed copies and a limited-edition version that includes a vinyl LP featuring audio of Sorum narrating the book, accompanied by music played by him, can be purchased at RareBirdLit.com.

Just the beginning: Keith Urban anticipating “electric” CMA Fest

Just the beginning: Keith Urban anticipating “electric” CMA Fest
ABC

Keith Urban headlines Nashville’s Nissan Stadium during the city’s CMA Fest this week, an event that he’s expecting will be extra exciting this year after two years of pandemic cancellations.

“Electric, I think. Electric,” he says of the onstage experience he’s anticipating. “CMA Fest is unlike anything I’ve ever played, and I think the fact that it’s been absent for two years, I think you’re gonna feel that in the audience that night. Whole weekend, too.”

But that’s just the beginning for Keith: After his CMA Fest show, he’s jetting out to Tampa, Florida, where months of tour rehearsals will pay off with a June 17 stop on his Speed of Now Tour.

For this tour, Keith is as involved behind the scenes as he is with his role as a headliner. He’s using his lighting background to help dream up a production plan that will be truly spectacular.

“I love lighting. I love the fact that it’s an emotional support and an energy support for the song,” he says. “And I always prefer when they’re used in that way, to heighten the emotion of the energy or the drama.”

Drama is a major component of Keith’s show, he points out, such as with songs like “Tumbleweed,” his set list-opening song.

“That song is all drama: absurd, heightened, over-the-top drama,” he describes. “And so we were here till, like, 11 o’clock last night shaping all of that. Lighting cues and openings and various things. So yeah, [I’m] fairly involved.”

Head over to Keith’s website to see a full list of his upcoming Speed of Now Tour dates.

Pixies have premiered a new song called “There’s a Moon On.”

“We’re trying to do things that are very big and bold and orchestrated,” frontman Black Francis says of the record. “The punky stuff, I really like playing it but you just cannot artificially create that s***. There’s another way to do this, there’s other things we can do with this extra special energy that we’re encountering.”

You can listen to “There’s a Moon On” now via digital outlets.

Doggerel follows the 2019 Pixies album Beneath the Eyrie. Since then, the band has released two singles, “Human Crime” and “Hear Me Out,” though neither are included on Doggerel.

Here’s the Doggerel track list:

“Nomatterday”
“Vault of Heaven”

Lindsey Stirling is “still on cloud 9” after meeting her idol, AJ McLean. After running into the Backstreet Boy, she shared a snap of their meeting and told him, “You’re a rockstar.” The feeling is mutual for AJ, as Lindsey shared a video in which said he is a “massive fan” of hers and is “obsessed” with her Christmas album.

Michael Bublé teased the music video for his cover of “Make You Feel My Love,” which features him walking smoothly down the street as explosions go off behind him, scattering debris all over the road. He is unaware of the mayhem going on, which includes a building being sucked up by a portal and a fire-breathing dragon. He captioned the teaser post, “Subtle.”

Lady Gaga is hosting an Instagram Live on Thursday, where she’ll “walk” fans “through our Haus Labs products” as part of Sephora’s Beauty Chat Room. The stream starts at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sephora’s Instagram.

Kelly Clarkson took a crack at The Weeknd‘s “Save Your Tears” on her Wednesday installment of Kellyoke. Fans applauded her for upping the octave and belting out the song’s final lines.

Christina Aguilera dropped her new PRIDE collection, which is now available on her store. It’s an exclusive four-piece set that features a trucker hat, T-shirts and hoodies that celebrate her headlining LA Pride this Saturday. The hoodie proclaims “Say Gay,” which is a definite reference to Florida’s controversial new law.

The Kid LAROI teased a new song on his Instagram Story Wednesday, tentatively titled “Tension.” The teased lyrics go “And baby, I regret it/ You told me you forgive me, but you won’t forget it/ And now I start to question your intentions/ You said it’s fine, but I still feel the tension.” It is not known when the song will drop.

BTS‘ Jungkook accidentally wiped his entire Instagram. Speaking on VLive, the singer insisted it’s not part of a rebranding or anything, he was just hoping to make his page “look nicer” and hit the wrong button.

Louis Tomlinson is bringing back the Away From Home Festival, happening August 27 in Spain. The One Direction singer teased, “It’s been a life long dream to put a show of this size together and it’s an absolute honour to have such a great line up in such an incredible location … It’s going to be special!”

Halsey continues to ask the real questions. They tweeted out, “If i seem a little tired today it’s because my brain kept me up at 2 am begging the question ‘how fast could you run down a spiral staircase if a murderer was chasing you?'”

Lady Gaga is hosting an Instagram Live on Thursday, where she’ll take fans inside her Haus Labs makeup line as part of Sephora’s Beauty Chat Room. The stream starts at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sephora’s Instagram.

Christina Aguilera dropped her new PRIDE collection on her store, an exclusive four-piece set so fans can sport fun new clothes for Pride Month.

Kelly Clarkson took a crack at The Weeknd and Ariana Grande‘s “Save Your Tears” on her Wednesday installment of Kellyoke.

Zara Larsson not only bought her music catalogue, she also debuted her new record label, Sommer House, allowing her to own and control her own music releases.

Nick Cannon is gearing up to become a father … again. He confirmed the news on a recent episode of the Lip Service Podcast, after the hosts inquired about rumors that he has “three babies on the way.”

“Well, when you say ‘on the way … ‘” he joked, before asking, “What count are you at? Let’s just put it this way … the stork is on the way.”

In response to his short-lived attempt at celibacy in October last year, the Wild ‘N Out host said, “I was supposed to make it through the top of the year, but obviously I was going through some stuff, I got depressed.” He referenced the loss of his baby boy Zion, who died in December due to brain cancer.

“The thing is everybody saw I was so down,” he said. “So everybody was like, ‘Let’s just give him a little vagina, and that’s gonna cure it all.'” In addition to his eighth baby on the way, his first with Bre Tiesi, many speculate Cannon is the father of twins with Abby De La Rosa.

Lori Harvey‘s mom, Marjorie Harvey, seemed to have joined the chat about her daughter’s split from Michael B. Jordan

After reports surfaced Monday that Lori, 25, and Jordan, 35, called it quits, her mother posted a message on her Instagram Story that fans say was shade toward her Jordan.

“You sit in s**t for too long, it stops smelling. So come the f**k outta there,” says actress Jennifer Lewis in the now-deleted video clip posted by Marjorie and later shared by The Neighborhood Talk.

Steve Harvey also shared what fans say was a cryptic message. The Family Feud host took to Twitter with a meme that reads, “Sometimes we need to thank God for what didn’t happen.”
