Dorothy‘s “Rest in Peace” has been doing everything but resting.

The single gave Dorothy Martin and company their highest-ranking hit on Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, peaking at #2 over the summer. Dorothy has continued to rock the song live over the past couple months while playing headline shows and touring with Dirty Honey.

“It’s been awesome,” Martin tells ABC Audio of playing “Rest in Peace.” “That is definitely one of our heavier songs.”

“Rest in Peace” was originally written by songwriter Scott Stevens, who’s worked with bands including Halestorm and Shinedown. In presenting the song to her, Martin felt that Stevens “took the words out of my mouth.”

“I was able to embody it and give the vocal performance from my heart,” Martin says.

On “Rest in Peace,” Dorothy isn’t exactly in mourning. Instead, Martin seems to be saying “rest in peace” to a toxic relationship.

“It can sound like a breakup song,” Martin shares. “But the way I interpreted it, as being someone in recovery, was kinda like a middle finger to my demons. So it is a kiss-off song to that.”

“But it’s whatever the fans want it to be,” she adds. “It could be a breakup song. It’s open for interpretation, which is the cool thing about music.”

“Rest in Peace” appears on the new Dorothy album, Gifts from the Holy Ghost, which is out now. The record also includes the follow-up single “Black Sheep.”

When the When We Were Young festival lineup was announced earlier this year, the excitement over the 2000s-era emo and pop-punk bill was tempered slightly by fears that it was too good to be true. According to Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba, those concerns weren’t entirely unreasonable.

Speaking with Vulture, Skiba reveals that the When We Were Young lineup was announced “before anybody said yes.”

“It was a Fyre Festival kind of stunt that worked,” Skiba says. “And I only know that because my band was on that initial flyer, with every other band from our whole ilk. And they almost expertly started advertising it before they had a single band on the bill.”

“Somehow, all the bands agreed to do it,” he continues. “I’m not making this up. Somebody may correct me, but I know that Alkaline Trio, we hadn’t confirmed anything. And when we read that, we called other bands that were playing, and nobody knew about it.”

Skiba, by the way, has personal experience with the Fyre Festival. He was set to play the infamous 2017 event with Blink-182, who dropped off the lineup as the doomed festival was falling apart.

When Were We Young, however, seems to be actually happening — the jam-packed set times schedule was revealed Monday.

“Congratulations to whoever masterminded that, the Lex Luther of promoters,” Skiba says. “And I think everybody, including us, is really pumped about it. It’s going to be a great time.”

When We Were Young takes place October 22, 23 and 29 in Las Vegas. The lineup also includes My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Bring Me the Horizon, Jimmy Eat World, A Day to Remember and Avril Lavigne.

She previously revealed she already set up her Christmas tree — but decked it out in spooky decorations.

Katy Perry released the “Where We Started” music video with country singer Thomas Rhett. She said in a statement, “I loved being able to create a dreamy world for ‘Where We Started,’ going back to the Nashville singer-songwriter roots of where I started.”

Adele is counting down the days until her rescheduled Weekends with Adele residency kicks off in Las Vegas.  Her team’s official Instagram said in its Story that Wednesday will mark exactly one month until showtime.

Speaking of countdowns, Meghan Trainor is reminding fans that her “Made You Look” music video premieres early for those who play Candy Crush Saga. The video will premiere on the app Thursday before launching Friday at midnight for everyone to see.

Speaking of K-pop, Camila Cabello saluted BLACKPINK singer Jisoo for covering her song “Liar.” She took to her Instagram Story to share a clip of the performance with the caption, “Get it girl.”

Katy Perry released the “Where We Started” music video with country singer Thomas Rhett. She said in a statement, “I loved being able to create a dreamy world for ‘Where We Started,’ going back to the Nashville singer-songwriter roots of where I started.”

5 Seconds of Summer released their music video for “Older.” The apocalyptic clip explores what “humans of all walks of life [would do] on their last day on Earth.” The song also addresses the fear of getting older. They added in a statement, “Usually, in life, the end comes without warning, but we wanted the video to capture what could happen if we knew exactly when the end was coming.”

Britney Spears unleashed alarming new allegations against her family in a Twitter thread. She said ending the 13-year conservatorship “has never been good enough for me” and that she wants her family — namely her father, James Spears, to endure what she allegedly went through. “I don’t see how they get to walk away so easily and get away with what was done to me … the world has shown me and the world only that cruelty wins,” she added.

Jack Harlow is hosting his second annual No Place Like Home arena show in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, on December 18. Tickets for the event, held at the KFC Yum! Center, go on sale Friday on Ticketmaster.

Horrified by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Rod Stewart is taking action. After bringing supplies to Ukraine, the singer is now personally helping a displaced Ukrainian family get back on its feet.

The legendary singer has rented out a home in Berkshire, England, for the family of seven and will be taking care of their bills for at least a year. He spoke to Daily Mirror about what inspired his good deed, which he says is his job as a knight.

Stewart was knighted in 2016 because of his philanthropic and musical efforts.

“I usually keep all my charitable efforts nice and quiet and just do it. But I thought, ‘I am a knight, I have been given this knighthood because of the things I’ve achieved in my life and the charity work I’ve done over the years,'” he explained.

Stewart added he couldn’t sit back as he watched reports of Ukraine being torn apart by the war. He said, “Words couldn’t describe what we were watching. The bombing of innocent children, the bombing of hospitals and playgrounds. Like everyone else, we were completely beside ourselves. I don’t wish that one anyone. This is evil, pure evil.”

The singer adds he was born after World War II and spoke of how the memories impacted his family. “That’s how devastating it was to me. I didn’t think we would see the likes of land war with tanks again,” he added.

He and wife Penny Lancaster are assisting couple Rostyslav and Olena, as well as their five children. Their youngest child is 2 and their eldest is 17.

Stewart says the family fled Ukraine when Russia began its invasion in February. They met when he drove 16 refugees to Berlin after bringing supplies to Ukraine.

Looks like Ingrid Andress is having fun on Keith Urban‘s Speed of Now World Tour.

When she’s not onstage opening for Keith, Ingrid occupies her time with backstage antics, according to a video of her scaring one of her crew members.

In an Instagram video, Ingrid hides in a giant yellow laundry cart. When one of the crew members opens the lid, Ingrid pops out and says, “Surprise, b****,” startling the man as he slams the lid closed.

Ingrid can be heard laughing from inside the cart as other members of the crew laugh along with her, one of them giving her a high five.

“I think I’m fired from this tour,” she captions the video. “Y’all having TOO MUCH fun,” one fan comments. Another added, “highlight of tour” with a series of crying laughing emojis.

Ingrid has been on the road with Keith as an opening act since the tour launched in June. It wraps up on November 5 in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The singer is currently climbing the charts with her top-five duet with Sam Hunt, “Wishful Drinking.”

John Mayer wrapped his Sob Rock Tour back in April and recently announced he’ll be hitting the road again for Dead & Company‘s final tour, but he’s already thinking about what’s next.

The hitmaker took to Instagram and penned an open letter to fans about his “thoughts and intentions for the future.”

“Hello from the studio,” his note began, which captioned several photos of him working on new music. “I know it’s been a while since I’ve updated you on what’s next, and since many of you have asked when the next leg of touring is, I thought I’d share my thoughts and intentions for the future.”

John continued, “I love touring and will continue to play live shows, but in staying open to what’s driving me creatively, it felt like making more music was the most inspired feeling I had. I know the Sob Rock tour was only in the US, and though I will make it to other cities and countries in the future, I’ve just got more songs to make.”

The Sob Rock Tour was in promotion of his eighth studio album of the same name.

“I’m having the time of my life writing and recording, and it won’t be long before I share some very exciting news about some new projects,” John continued before closing with, “I’m grateful beyond description for all the love and support I’ve got in you all, and I’m the luckiest person in the world to still be on this big beautiful ride with you all.”

He included three photos in his announcement — all of which feature him and a pink electric guitar. While one photo is of him posing in the studio, another is of him singing into the microphone, while the final one is of him playing the piano.

It seems that Wendy Williams is in great health.

In a status update provided to Entertainment Tonight, Williams’ publicist, Shawn Zanotti, said the beloved TV host is no longer staying at the wellness facility she had recently checked into, and is now “home and healing.”

“Thank you to my fans for your love, support and many prayers,” Williams said in a message to her fans and supporters. “I am back and better than ever.”

With her health in good shape, Wendy is likely to continue plotting her next big move. Speaking of those career plans, Zanotti told ET, “Wendy is excited about the road ahead and looking forward to releasing her many projects.”

Last month, Zanotti shared that the 58-year-old star checked into a wellness facility to focus on her “overall health issues.” He told ABC News at the time that while “being treated by a team of some of the best doctors in the world,” Williams looked forward to shifting her attention to The Wendy Experience Podcast. He also said she was working on the second part of her documentary.

It was announced in June that Williams’ long-running talk show, The Wendy Williams Show, was ending. Rumors circulated about why the show was ending, including the most notable: Williams’ potential health decline.

Shortly after the show’s final episode in June, which was hosted by fill-in host Sherri Shepherd, Williams posted an image of herself to her podcast’s Instagram with the caption, “When one door closes a LARGER one Opens!”
