If you’re wondering whether or not Neil Diamond likes the new movie Song Sung Blue — based on the true story of a couple who start a Neil Diamond tribute band — look no further than star Hugh Jackman‘s Instagram feed.

In a video posted Sunday, Jackman is seen opening a guitar case to reveal an acoustic guitar bearing a handwritten inscription.  “Oh, my,” the actor says as he reads the message.

“That’s from Neil Diamond?” he asks.

“Yes,” says off camera replies. Jackman than hugs the guitar and says, “Thank you Neil.”

Jackman captioned the post, “One of the most awesome gifts I’ve ever received and will cherish forever.”

A photo included in the post shows the 84-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Famer holding the guitar, which is inscribed with the message, “Hugh, Keep rocking! Your friend, Neil Diamond.”

In 2018, Diamond announced his retirement from touring due to his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis. He’s since performed a few times, most recently on Oct. 11 at the 2025 Carousel Ball in Denver, Colorado, where he received a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Last year, Jackman revealed on The Graham Norton Show that he’d flown to Colorado to have dinner with Diamond and ended up staying overnight at his home and singing karaoke with him.

Björk urges Greenland to declare independence

Björk has shared a statement in support of Greenland’s independence.

“I wish all greenlanders blessing in their fight for independence,” the Icelandic artist writes in an Instagram post. “Icelanders are extremely relieved that they managed to break from the danish in 1944, we didn’t loose our language (my children would be speaking danish now).”

Björk’s post follows President Donald Trump‘s recent comments calling for the annexation of Greenland, which he repeated amid the U.S. capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

Greenland is an autonomous territory part of the Kingdom of Denmark.

“Colonialism has repeatedly given me horror chills up my back, and the chance that my fellow greenlanders might go from one cruel coloniser to another is too brutal to even imagine,” Björk writes. “Dear greenlanders declare independence!!!! sympathetic wishes from your neighbours.”

‘One Number Away’? Luke Combs is counting down the seconds

Luke Combs is in the middle of a countdown. What comes at the end? Well, it’s a mystery at this point.

If you check out the “Hurricane” hitmaker’s website, it’s currently keeping track of the seconds until Wednesday, Jan. 7, at noon ET. Whether it’s a major announcement or simply something new on his site, he hasn’t given us any clues so far.

When it comes to live shows, we know Luke’s My Kinda Saturday Night Tour kicks off March 21 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Musically, fans are watching for news of Luke’s sixth studio album, which is expected sometime in 2026, following his The Prequel EP, which came out in October. Its latest single, “Days Like These,” is currently climbing the country chart.

Luke most recently released “Giving Her Away” on Dec. 5, and he’s now teasing the new track, “Sleepless in a Hotel Room,” with a video of him singing it in the studio.

We know there’s an even more significant countdown going on in Luke’s personal life: He and wife Nicole Combs are expecting their third child this winter.

Peter Gabriel has dropped his first new song of the new year.

The rocker released “Been Undone,” the lead single off his upcoming album o/i, the follow up to 2023’s i/o.

As he did with i/o, Gabriel plans to release a new song from the album with each full moon of the year. The entire album will be released by the end of 2026, along with Dark-Side and Bright-Side mixes, handled by Tchad Blake and Mark “Spike” Stent, respectively.

“Been Undone (Dark-Side Remix)” is available now via digital outlets.

Like i/o, each new song release will be accompanied by a piece of art. The artwork for “Been Undone,” titled Ciclotrama 156 (Palindrome), comes from São Paulo–based artist Janaina Mello Landini.

“The first artwork is a special piece from Janaina Mello Landini. The way she takes the rope and moves it out, unravelling it, is almost like fractals or tree trunks and looks like the brain in some ways too, so I see a lot of entry points,” Gabriel shares. “I am delighted that Janaina is willing to participate and be part of the process.”

He adds, “We are using one of her existing images for this month to open the whole proceedings but I’m excited that she’s now going to create a piece, especially for the song.”

Miley Cyrus is down to do a song for the next season of Heated Rivalry — but one of the show’s stars is afraid they won’t be able to afford her.

At the Palm Springs International Film Festival gala on Saturday, Miley told Variety that she hasn’t watched the steamy Canadian hockey romance yet, but she’s “so in” to do music for it. “Book me! Get me booked!” she exclaimed.

“I have not watched yet, but this is on my to-do list now,” she added. “It’s all I’ve heard about — every conversation I’ve had today has started with, ‘You have to [watch it].’”

When informed of Miley’s comments at the Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday, Heated Rivalry star François Arnaud told Variety, “I think we might get a little bit bigger budget for Season 2, but I don’t know if we get Miley budget. I think if she sees the show, she might give us a discount.”

On Sunday, Miley received the Outstanding Artistic Achievement trophy at the Palm Springs International Film Awards. In her acceptance speech, she admitted she had been hoping for an Oscar nomination for “We Dream As One,” her song from Avatar: Fire and Ash, before criticizing the competitive nature of awards shows.

“So often during awards season, we’re set up to be competitors but we’re meant to be a community. Not opponents,” she said. “There is no single best. It’s only our personal best work … performance runs much deeper than a scoreboard.”

On This Day, Jan. 5, 1976: Bob Dylan releases his 17th studio album, ‘Desire’

On This Day, Jan. 5, 1976: Bob Dylan releases his 17th studio album, ‘Desire’

On This Day Jan. 5, 1976…

Fifty years ago, Bob Dylan released his 17th studio album, Desire, which went to #1 on the Billboard chart, and remained there for five weeks.

The album, the follow up to 1975’s Blood on the Tracks, had Dylan backed by the musicians he used for his Rolling Thunder Revue tours, with Emmylou Harris and Ronee Blakley providing backup vocals.

Notable songs on the album include “Hurricane,” which he wrote about the murder case against boxer Rubin “Hurricane” Carter, as well as “Isis” and “Sara,” the latter of which was written about his wife.

Many of the tunes on the album were co-written by Jacques Levy, and in 2020 Levy’s estate sued Dylan and Universal Music Group claiming they were entitled to compensation from the sale of Dylan’s catalog. Dylan’s lawyers claimed Levy was hired under a “work for hire” arrangement, and Dylan won the suit.

Desire went on to become one of Dylan’s best-selling studio albums, and has been certified double platinum by the RIAA.

The Old Dominion ‘party crowd’ is alive around the globe

2025 was the year Old Dominion conquered the globe with their How Good Is That World Tour, and there’s more to come in 2026.

The trek started in the U.S. in June, before heading to Canada in August. By October, they were ready for their most extensive schedule yet in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and the United Kingdom.

“We’ve put in the work. We’ve been to Europe for years now and slowly built it. But this is the first time that we really saw it pay off,” Trevor Rosen reflects. “I mean, the crowds were with us early and have been building. And now, we were just over there playing to some pretty big arenas.”

“And the fans really seem to have connected to us,” he continues. “You know, they know all the music, and Europe is more of a listening crowd sometimes. And I felt like this time it really was sort of that Old Dominion vibe/party crowd. It felt like some of the shows in the States. It really seems to have grown into that over there.”

In March, the ACM group of the year heads Down Under for half a dozen more dates on the global stage.

“We continue the world tour and we hit up Australia, New Zealand, Canada,” Matthew Ramsey says of their 2026 schedule.

Even with Barbara out last August, OD’s already thinking about what’s next.

“We’ll go back in the studio. We’ll make some more new music,” Matthew adds. “So we just continue to grind.”

Crosley Radio, a founding sponsor of Record Store Day, is set to release The Rolling Stones RSD3 Mini Turntable, a limited-edition, fully functioning turntable dedicated to the legendary band. The collectible is decorated with exclusive Rolling Stones artwork and comes with a matching storage crate that can hold up to 16 3-inch records.

“We’re thrilled to add this Rolling Stones product to our exclusive Record Store Day releases,” said Crosley Radio President Keith Starr. “Combining Crosley’s passion for records with the band’s legendary legacy creates a collectible we know fans will be excited to spin.”

The mini turntable has regular turntable features like a headphone jack, adjustable pitch control and more, and also gives music fans the ability to stream vinyl using external speakers with a Bluetooth transmitter.

It will be available at independent record stores on April 18.

This isn’t the first mini-turntable Crosley has released for Record Store Day. In 2024, they released a Beatles mini-turntable in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the band touching down in America.
