Taking Back Sunday has teamed up with superstar DJ Steve Aoki for a remix of the band’s classic track, “Cute Without the ‘E’ (Cut from the Team).”

“[Aoki] was kind enough to do a remix of a song we wrote in our parents’ basements,” TBS says. You can listen to the updated recording now via digital outlets.

The remix follows Taking Back Sunday’s performance with Aoki during the When We Were Young festival. They played their collaborative song “Just Us Two,” which appears on Aoki’s latest album, HiROQUEST: Genesis.

Footage from the When We Were Young set is featured in a video accompanying the “Cute” remix, which is streaming now on YouTube.

The original “Cute” appears on Taking Back Sunday’s 2002 debut album, Tell All Your Friends.

Jordan Fisher

If you’ve watched Fat Joe‘s interviews or caught one of his Instagram Live sessions, you know the rapper has a knack for storytelling. His latest anecdotes appear on an episode of Red Table Talk, where he opens up about everything from his humble beginnings to the reason he decided to get into the rap game.

In his conversation with Jada Pinkett Smith and company, Joe recalled some of the toughest moments of his childhood. He remembered the time his best friend sided with bullies and beat him up — a moment that triggered the transition from “sweet Joe” to a more ruthless Joey Crack.

He also reflected on growing up with an abusive father. Joe says he was 14 when he had enough of the abuse. His dad had attempted to kick him, but Joe grabbed his legs in an effort to stop him. He then made the decision to leave his home and “started hustling the next day.”

With a life in the streets, Joe got shot in front of his mother after an altercation with a man on the Fourth of July. He credited his friend Diamond D of the Diggin’ in the Crates Crew for encouraging him to pursue a music career.

Elsewhere in the interview, Fat Joe mourned the loss of his friends, the late Notorious B.I.G. and Big Pun. He also discussed the advice Lil Wayne gave him when he went to jail for failing to file tax returns with the IRS — a bid he said happened because his accountant stole his money.

On the topic of Kanye West, who’s facing backlash for antisemitic comments, Joe said he told Ye to “get focused and look to God ’cause God is the answer.”

The original Black Panther broke presale records and its forthcoming sequel, Wakanda Forever, has already made a mint.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the sequel, which debuts Friday, has already scooped up $45 million in presales alone. Those numbers could balloon to the $60 million range — which would outpace the $55 million the first Black Panther made in presales back in 2018.

The trade posits that the movie could be on track for a $325 million opening worldwide, if the numbers hold.

According to a 2021 survey of 6,000 moviegoers conducted by online ticket retailer Fandango, Wakanda Forever ranked as 2022’s most anticipated film.

Marvel Studios is owned by Disney, the parent company of ABC News.

Ever since Richie Sambora left Bon Jovi in 2013, fans have been wondering if he’d reunite with his old bandmates again. Well, the answer is a definite maybe.

While in London for an awards ceremony, Sambora was asked by Metro if there was a possibility that he and Bon Jovi could possibly set aside their differences and come together for a headlining spot at next year’s Glastonbury Festival, the United Kingdom’s most prestigious music festival.

“It’s a possibility. We’re talking a bit,” Sambora said, with what the publication called “a cheeky smile.”

Bon Jovi is one of the few massive rock bands that has never headlined Glastonbury, though Sambora appeared there in 2014, joining Dolly Parton onstage for her set.

Sambora did reunite with Bon Jovi at their 2018 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland; so did bass player Alec John Such, who left the band in 1994 and hadn’t played with them since a one-off performance in 2001. Such died last June.

Sammy Hagar is hopeful that the shelved Van Halen song “Between Us Two” will eventually get released.

As the story goes, the “Panama” outfit originally wrote “Between Us Two” toward the end of the Van Hagar era for the 1996 movie Twister. While the disaster flick featured a theme composed by Eddie and Alex Van Halen, “Between Us Two” didn’t end up making the soundtrack and was eventually lost to time.

Speaking with Consequence’s Kyle Meredith with… podcast, Hagar confirms the song was indeed recorded and is somewhere in the Van Halen “archives.”

“I don’t know if I can resurrect it, but we got it; it’s done,” Hagar says. “It’s in the archives; they’ll find it. They’re looking through the archives right now to try to remaster some of the old stuff from my era. They’ll find it. That’s gonna be a treasure.”

Hagar notes that if the song were to finally come to light, it “would have to go through the Van Halen camp,” which he describes as “a little dysfunctional.”

Of course, given all the drama around the supposed Eddie tribute plans, which the late guitar icon’s son Wolfgang Van Halen said “never even got off the ground,” “dysfunctional” might be an understatement. So for all the “Between Us Two” believers out there, maybe don’t get too excited.

Britney Spears has condemned the documentaries that were made about her life and says she doesn’t want more to be made.

Taking to Twitter, she seemingly referenced the Framing Britney Spears and Controlling Britney Spears documentaries that fans once praised for shedding light on her controversial conservatorship.

“I want to thank the head people who did all the documentaries to help free Brit Brit !! I mean such classy footage,” Britney sarcastically began her post. “The best part was when my old assistant [Felicia Culotta] talked about how I went through the neighborhood passing out 100 dollar bills when my first song came out !!! I wish I could go inside the heads of people like my dad and her and really try to understand why people lie and make up such things like that !!!”

Britney continued, “Wasn’t it already bad enough what they did to me and on top of it everybody is getting together and doing the trashiest docs I’ve ever seen in my life saying it’s TO HELP ME ??? You must be some clever folks !!!! It was so embarrassing!”

Brit maintains the documentaries did not help her, saying “I am a person … I’m not a robot or a science experiment.”

Britney also alleged on Instagram that the reason she has nerve damage is because she has “not been able to breathe for the past 3 years” because her inhaler was confiscated. She claimed to have used one “for the past 20 years.”

Zac Brown Band is nominated for Vocal Group of the Year at the 2022 CMA Awards, and frontman Zac Brown says he’d love to be able to score a win for the home team.

“I would love [to win], really, for my band,” the singer tells ABC Audio. “They deserve it.”

ZBB isn’t necessarily a darling at award shows: Though they’ve been nominated many times, they haven’t won a trophy since back in 2010 when they were named New Artist of the Year.

“We’re kind of outlaws of a lot of things,” Zac says, “…and this kind of, you know, one of those things….We’ve got great perspective on things, but I would love for them to have a win and actually get a trophy.”

Still, in the grand scheme of things, they’ve already won, he notes. “The country music fans, and the people that show up at our shows, that’s how we win,” Zac points out. “We win an award every single night that we go play.”

The 56th annual CMA Awards airs tonight, November 9, at 8 p.m. on ABC; the ceremony will broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

Snoop Dogg‘s evolution throughout the years has seen him go from rapper to full-fledged businessman. According to Deadline, Universal Pictures is developing the project, which will be the first film released under Snoop’s Death Row Pictures. He’ll serve as producer alongside Sara Ramaker and director Allen HughesJoe Robert Cole, who co-wrote Black PantherWakanda Forever, has been tapped to write the script.

It was holy matrimony, not holy macaroni.”

There’s no word on when Snoop’s biopic will go into production, but it will feature music from his discography.
