The B-52s will wrap their farewell tour in Georgia in January, but that doesn’t mean they are saying goodbye to performing altogether. In fact, they just announced a new set of Las Vegas dates.

The band is set for a new 10-night residency at The Venetian Resort, with dates in May, August and September. The shows kick off May 5 and run through September 3. Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. local time.

The new dates follow a series of sold-out performances in Sin City in October.

As for those final farewell tour dates, The B-52s will play Atlanta’s Fox Theatre on January 6, 7 and 8, and Athens’ Classic Center on January 10.

Rick Wakeman is ready to release some new music. The Yes keyboardist just announced his brand-new concept album, A Gallery of the Imagination. He says it was inspired by his first piano teacher, Mrs. Symes, who taught him a lesson he never forgot: “when you play, you are painting pictures through music.”

Wakeman says the songs on the album are presented “as if they were pictures in a gallery,” noting, “just as there are many different styles in an art gallery, so there are many different musical styles on A Gallery of the Imagination.”

“One of my great loves is going to museums and art galleries and seeing all the different types of art, so I thought, why not a music gallery… the Gallery of the Imagination?” he says. “People can paint their own mind pictures to the different types of music that are on the album. It is very diverse and for me, it works very well because the concept holds it all together.”

Fans can pre-order the album now, and it will be shipped before Christmas. Vinyl and deluxe editions will be out in February.

Harry Styles momentarily shut down his concert in Colombia after multiple fans fainted in a crowd surge.

British publication Daily Mail reports the singer was performing Sunday in Bogotá, Colombia’s Coliseo Live when fans began rushing the stage. Concertgoers in the first row reportedly were crushed against the handrails and called out to Harry for help, saying they were suffocating.

A reported eight people fainted during the surge.

According to fan-shot videos, Harry slammed the brakes on his show and urged the audience to back up and make room.

“I’m very excited to be here and I know tonight’s gonna be an amazing show but the most important thing is that everyone in here is safe because there are a lot of people in here and it’s warm,” the singer told the crowd.  He then called for “everyone on the floor” to start walking back “really, really slowly.”

The condition of those fans who fainted was not reported.

Harry’s incident comes a year after people rushed the stage during Travis Scott‘s set at Astroworld Festival, killing 10. Since then, artists have become even more vigilant of their audience’s well-being during concerts.

Singers like Billie Eilish and John Mayer made headlines for stopping their respective shows when fans alerted them of potential emergencies.

U2 fans are always anxiously awaiting tour news, but they just got some that may not make them happy. In a Washington Post piece celebrating the band’s upcoming lifetime achievement award from the Kennedy Center, drummer Larry Mullen Jr. revealed that any tour U2 may do next year will be without him.

Although not directly quoted, writer Geoff Edgers says Mullen shared that “if the band plays live in 2023 it will probably be without him, as he needs surgery to continue playing.” What type of surgery he needs wasn’t revealed, but on Twitter, Edgers writes he “has issues with his neck and elbows,” sharing that Larry said, “I have lots of bits falling off, elbows, knees, necks, and so during Covid, when we weren’t playing, I got a chance to have a look at some of these things. So there’s some damage along the way.”

On a happier note, U2 does reveal they have two albums described as either completed or almost completed. They include Songs of Ascent, which is said to be “nearly finished.” The article notes, “Bono and the Edge aren’t sure when to release it.” There’s also Surrender, featuring stripped-down versions of the 40 songs Bono writes about in his recent memoir, Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story.

The 2022 Kennedy Center Honors goes down Sunday in the Kennedy Center Opera House in Washington, D.C. and airs December 28 on CBS.

They got it from their momma (and daddy): Country stars tribute their parents

ABC

If you’re looking for tear-jerking songs about moms and dads who sacrifice everything for their kids, look no further than country music: The genre is full of songs paying homage to the parents who raised its stars.

Morgan Wallen’s “Think You Should Know” is a tribute to his mom, and the music video features throwback home video footage of them together when he was a baby, plus more recent shots of the two of them getting ready for the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, which Morgan’s mom attended as his date.

One of the highlights of the 2022 CMA Awards was Lainey Wilson’s walk on the red carpet with her dad Brian, after a harrowing and near-fatal set of health issues that caused Brian to spend two months in the hospital.

Lainey dedicated her Female Vocalist of the Year trophy to her dad that night, and she’s shared her love for him in music, too, with “Those Boots (Deddy’s Song).”

Less sentimental, but just as heartfelt, is Luke Bryan’s love for his mom, LeClaire Bryan — she’s a regular fixture on his social media and in his family prank wars, and she makes an appearance in his “One Margarita” music video, too.

Country stars usually get the spotlight when it comes to honoring their parents, but a new podcast called Got it From My Momma will turn the tables, with host Jennifer Vickery Smith sharing conversation with the moms of Thomas Rhett, Parker McCollum, The Jonas Brothers and more. The podcast premieres on Tuesday.

Billie Eilish took her fans down memory lane again with her sixth annual Vanity Fair Same Interview” segment, where she reflects on how much she’s changed over the past year.

One of her biggest differences is her relationship with The Neighbourhood‘s Jesse Rutherford. She opened up about her exciting love life, saying, “It’s really cool and I’m really excited and I’m really happy about it.”

She explained that this romance is a big win for her. “I managed to get my way, to a point in my life, where I not only was known by a person that I thought was the hottest f***ing f***er alive, but pulled his a**! Are you kidding me? Can we just [clapping] round of applause for me?,” she cheekily answered. “Jesse Rutherford, everyone!”

Continued Billie, “I pulled his a**. All me! I did that s***.  I locked that motherf***** down.”

The singer also went into what she loves most in a relationship, which she said is “just physical touch.” She explained, “I just need to be touching skin all the time. Touching and cuddling and hugging and anything skin related is a big thing for me.”

She also said an important aspect of being in love is having “freedom” and not being “controlled.” By that, she meant, “I want to be trusted and I wanna be able to have space.”

But she also says that “love and attention and equal admiration” are also important to her.

As for her message to her fans, Billie said during the interview, “Trust me. I’m in control. I’m in charge. I know what I’m doing. I’m okay.”  Some fans have condemned her romance with Rutherford because of their 11-year age difference.

Billie also revealed that she wants children and is truly happy.

You’ll have to forgive Jackson Dean if he’s a little speechless these days. His debut single, “Don’t Come Lookin’,” has become his first number one.

“There are no words to, like, explain how it feels to… like be this close to the top,” he tells ABC Audio. “…I feel extremely humble and grateful, like that people have believed in it and believed in me and someone like me from the last place that you would expect I’d be from.”

That place is Jackson’s hometown: Odenton, Maryland.

“I’ve walked a lot of miles to get here,” he continues, “and I’m just extremely grateful and just very appreciative of all the love that it’s gotten.”

“And yeah, that’s about all I can say about it,” he adds with a smile.

“Don’t Come Lookin'” is the lead release from Jackson’s debut album, Greenbroke. The song was previously featured in an episode of Yellowstone.

Palaye Royale reflects on When We Were Young experience: “It was very nostalgic, to say the least”

Palaye Royale reflects on When We Were Young experience: “It was very nostalgic, to say the least”

Palaye Royale was among the many bands to play the much-hyped When We Were Young festival this year, which basically recreated a mid-2000s Hot Topic in Las Vegas with its lineup of emo and pop-punk artists. For the “Broken” rockers, who hail from Sin City, playing a festival like When We Were Young in their hometown made it extra exciting.

“If you would’ve said all those bands would’ve been playing together for one night in Las Vegas five years ago, you’d be, like, ‘Not happening,'” guitarist Sebastian Danzig tells ABC Audio.

As one of the relatively newer bands on the lineup, Palaye Royale was surrounded by scene vets at When We Were Young.

“It’s just interesting to see all these bands are coming back out of the grave,” Danzig says. “It was very nostalgic, to say the least.”

Danzig was especially excited to see Paramore headline When We Were Young; he cites the “Misery Business” outfit’s career as one Palaye Royale aspires to emulate.

“There’s bands like Paramore that have had such an arc of a career,” Danzig says. “That’s kind of what you want to do, in a sense that they’ve kept reinventing themselves.”

“They’re changing their sounds dramatically through their career,” he continues. “You really can’t pinpoint it besides Hayley Williams‘ vocals [are], like, a thread through their career.”

Danzig feels that Palaye Royale has that kind of voice in frontman Remington Leith. In fact, they’ve already begun working on a new album to follow October’s Fever Dream, which Leith describes as “completely different” from its predecessor.

“I think that’s what we’re fortunate to have with Remington, he has such a distinctive voice,” Danzig says.
