Lynyrd Skynyrd is hitting the stage Thursday for a good cause. The band is set to headline the Boots On The Sand: Hurricane Ian Benefit Concert at Hertz Arena in Estero, FL.

“You know we are a Florida band and true Floridians, we have grown up with Hurricanes being a part of our lives. Hurricane Ian did major damage and people lost loved ones and everything they had,” Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Johnny Van Zant shares. “We couldn’t sit by and not try to help people in a time of need,” adding, “Hopefully, we can raise a bunch of money for the victims of the storm, get some musician friends to come down and join us, and bring some smiles to the faces of those people that have lost so much.”

The concert features an all-star lineup that includes Ira Dean, Ted Nugent, Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley and Tracy Lawrence. Comedian Jim Breuer will serve as the host.

Proceeds from the concert will go toward disaster relief efforts through Volunteer Florida and the Community Foundations of Southwest Florida.

Tickets are on sale here.

Jennifer Lopez may be expanding her sights to Broadway. The actress and singer was the latest star to sit in Vogue‘s hot seat, where she answered 73 rapid fire questions.

When discussing her roots in New York City’s Bronx borough, Lopez was asked if fans would ever see her in a Broadway show. She responded with a cryptic “I hope so.” She also revealed Dreamgirls was the first musical she ever saw on the Great White Way.

Speaking of acting, Jennifer said she was “so nervous” to land the role of late Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla in the 1997 Selena movie. “I got right to work,” the singer added, noting she had no time to celebrate scoring the pivotal role.

When asked about bringing her own life story to the screen, Jennifer hinted she doesn’t want any of today’s actresses portraying her. Instead, she noted the right actress “hasn’t been born yet.” Elsewhere in the interview, she said she hopes her lasting legacy is that she “put a lot of love in the world.”

That said, should she ever write a memoir, Jennifer said it would either be titled Dance Again and Again and Again and Again or Never Stop Dancing.

Speaking of her music, Jennifer said her favorite music video is her 1999 effort “If You Had My Love.” She also teased her upcoming album This Is Me… Now. She revealed she tried something new when making it, which was “to be unafraid.”

She also said that for the new year, she’s most excited “for people to hear the music.”

Jennifer added she’s always wanted to cover Tom Waits‘ 1973 song “Martha” and that she hopes to make a sequel for her “critically acclaimed” movie Gigli, of which she starred in 2003 with her now-husband, Ben Affleck.

Ex-Mötley Crüe vocalist John Corabi says he doesn’t “believe” the band’s statement announcing the retirement of guitarist Mick Mars.

The statement, which was posted in October, reads, “We accept Mick’s decision to retire from the band due to the challenges with his health,” referring to his long battle with the inflammatory disease ankylosing spondylitis. That followed a statement a rep for Mars gave to Variety, which read, “Mick will continue as a member of the band, but can no longer handle the rigors of the road.” Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 will replace Mars for Mötley’s upcoming 2023 tour dates.

Speaking with the Life in the Stocks podcast, Corabi, who sang on Mötley Crüe’s 1994 self-titled album, says, “I don’t even know if [Mars] left Mötley, I think maybe he was shown the door.”

Corabi recalls the rest of Mötley “complaining about [Mars’] guitar playing” dating back to their 1997 album, Generation Swine, which Corabi had begun recording before he left the band in 1996.

“The majority of the guitars on the Swine record…are mine,” Corabi says. “They were complaining about Mick the whole f***ing time.”

Corabi adds that the guitars on Mötley’s 2008 album Saints of Los Angeles were played by onetime Guns N’ Roses guitarist and Nikki Sixx‘s Sixx:A.M. bandmate DJ Ashba, while John 5 played guitar on the new songs they recorded for 2019’s The Dirt soundtrack.

Regarding Mars’ departure, Corabi concedes that he could “be totally wrong” but says he’s waiting to hear from Mick himself.

“The [statement] that we’ve all heard came from Mötley and their management,” Corabi says, adding that he’s reached out to Mars personally but hasn’t heard back.

“This is all a theory…but, personally, I don’t believe a word of that statement, at all,” he concludes.

Pink went ape over a painting she bought ahead of Miami Art Week.

Page Six reports that Pink purchased a $5,000 abstract painting created by two chimpanzees. The work, called “Art by Patty & Kramer,” is part of what’s being called the first-ever “exhibit of art by chimpanzees.” Patty and Kramer are the names of the chimps who created the acrylic painting, which features blue, white and pink streaks.

Pink bought the painting online during a pre-sale ahead of the exhibit’s official opening on Wednesday, one of the organizers told Page Six. According to the organizer, Pink was “heartened to learn that chimps find painting therapeutic and, like humans, the ape artists tend to be introspective.” She also reportedly “sent a sweet note calling [the painting] ‘Patty and Kramer’s masterpiece.'”

Proceeds from the painting — and the entire exhibit — will benefit the Save the Chimps sanctuary in Fort Pierce, FL. The sanctuary is home to hundreds of chimps who’ve been rescued from labs, the entertainment industry and the pet trade.

Kate Bush‘s deal with Stranger Things has landed her on Spotify’s year-end charts.

The U.K. artist’s 1985 single “Running Up That Hill” was named the streaming platform’s #1 most-played “throwback song” of 2022, which is defined as a track released more than 20 years ago.

“Running Up That Hill” saw a huge revival this year after being featured in the fourth season of Stranger Things. Following its placement in the Netflix sci-fi show, the song ran all the way to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 — a career first for Bush — and #1 on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart. It’s newfound success even led the normally press-shy Bush to give a rare interview.

Spotify’s other most-streamed throwback songs include Coldplay‘s “Yellow” and Nirvana‘s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” as well as Eminem‘s “The Real Slim Shady” and Coolio‘s “Gangsta’s Paradise.” Additionally, Bush’s Hounds of Love, which includes “Running Up That Hill,” was the second-most streamed throwback album. Coldplay’s Parachutes was #3, and The Beatles‘ best-of compilation 1 was #5.

Meanwhile, Glass Animals‘ “Heat Waves” was the second-most streamed song on Spotify in the U.S. and globally in 2022. While not quite the throwback “Running Up That Hill” is, “Heat Waves” was originally released in 2020 but hit #1 on the Hot 100 this year, and eventually broke the record for most weeks on the chart.

The members of BTS may be busy working on their solo ventures, but that isn’t stopping them from coming together for an all new docu-series about their rise to fame.

The septet will release BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star seemingly on the Disney+ Singapore streaming service, which dropped a teaser trailer on Twitter Wednesday. “It’s time for the second chapter. Chart the incredible journey of pop icons BTS in the new docu-series BTS MONUMENTS: BEYOND THE STAR,” the caption reads.

The documentary will feature stories from BTS’ childhood and journey to international superstardom. They also teased that the docuseries “shares candid stories that have never been told.”

No information was provided on when the series will begin streaming. The tweet also claimed the series is exclusive to Disney+ Singapore. Disney is the parent company of ABC News.

In other BTS news, the singers released a new episode of their other series, Run BTS. The 40-minute episode, which is on YouTube, features the boys testing out absurd new toys, including a pooping flamingo that loudly announces it went to the bathroom.

The septet also determined the cutest animal in the world and which superpowers are the most useless via a bracket-like voting contest. The group determined being able to rewind time by just seven seconds is the dumbest power to have while the baby fox is the world’s cutest animal.
