The Moody Blues John Lodge has added a special show to his upcoming Days of Future Passed tour, which will have him playing the band’s second album in its entirety.

Lodge is set to play a special symphony show with the Coachella Symphony on March 26 at the Rancho Mirage Amphitheater in Rancho Mirage, California, which will wrap his winter 2023 tour. This will be his only symphony show on the tour. Tickets are on sale now.

“The Coachella Valley Symphony approached me and asked me to perform Days of Future Passed with them at their new home at Rancho Mirage Amphitheater, and it intrigued me,” Lodge shares. “I had been developing a full orchestra concert, but it was something for the future. However, they are a passionate community music organization, and Alan (Hewitt, LODGE’s music director and keyboardist) knew them from when he lived there, and so it seemed like a wonderful way to step my feet into the water, and a fabulous finale to the tour.”

Lodge’s tour is set to kick off February 18 in Lexington, Massachusetts. He’ll be joined by his 10,000 Light Years Band, with a guest appearance by his friend and current Yes frontman Jon Davison. The show will also feature a special recording by the late Moody Blues drummer and co-founder, Graeme Edge.

Last year, Kate Bush‘s 1985 song “Running Up that Hill (A Deal with God)” topped charts worldwide thanks to its inclusion in the Netflix hit Stranger Things. But it looks like Linda Ronstadt may be the latest artist to have a decades-old hit revived by a TV show.

Linda’s 1970 hit “Long, Long Time” plays a pivotal role in the emotional third episode of the HBO series The Last of Us, which aired on Sunday night. On Monday, Spotify News tweeted, “On Sunday, January 29th, between 11PM and midnight ET, there was more than 4900% increase in U.S. streams of ‘Long Long Time’ by Linda Ronstadt.”

“Oh, so all of our hearts were breaking last night,” read the caption.

“Long, Long Time,” written by Gary White, appeared on Ronstadt’s 1970 album, Silk Purse. It peaked at #25 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Female Vocal Performance. The ballad was Linda’s first Top 40 solo hit; she’d previously reached #13 with “Different Drum,” recorded with her former band Stone Poneys.

It remains to be seen if, like “Running Up that Hill,” the song will eventually make its way back onto the Billboard charts and radio stations.

Last year, Harry Styles received a special commemorative banner at New York’s Madison Square Garden, in recognition of the fact that he sold out 15 shows at the legendary venue.  Now, he’s received a similar honor on the West Coast.

Fan footage from Sunday, which was his 15th show at the Kia Forum, shows a huge green banner with Harry’s name and “15 Sold Out Shows” written on it, hanging from the ceiling of the venue, and Harry gazing up at it and raising his fists in triumph while the audience cheers.

Tonight and Wednesday night, he’ll perform at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, CA, and head back to LA for the Grammys this weekend: He’s nominated for six awards at Sunday’s ceremony, including album, record and song of the year.  He’ll then resume his Love On Tour trek in Perth, Australia on February 20.

Jessica Simpson recalls dodging calls from an *NSYNC member and a Backstreet Boy
Amazon Original Stories

Jessica Simpson is dishing all about the time a member of the Backstreet Boys and a member of *NSYNC were pursuing her.

In a new excerpt from her short story, Movie Star: They Always Say They’re Single, Jessica, 42, remembers a moment from the 2001 MTV VMAs after party, when she was avoiding calls from both of the men.

“Earlier, at the hotel, I had separate calls going with them at the same time… I kept switching between the calls, putting each on hold when talk became too serious about when we were actually going to meet up,” she wrote, according to Bustle. “I was good on the phone and could talk the talk, but in person, I knew my shyness meant I wouldn’t even be able to look them in the eye.”

Simpson didn’t reveal the names of the boy-banders, but she did leave some hints. Of the Backstreet Boy, she reminisced about standing in the front row at one of his concerts.

“During a song, he poured a bottle of water all over himself, gyrating his body as he looked at me the whole time,” she said.

As for the *NSYNC member, the pop star said he told her “he was living in his car by choice.”

“I knew enough about the industry to know that money in those boybands was always … iffy, but he seemed to double down on this conviction. ‘I’d be fine doing it the rest of my life,’ he said. ‘Just keep a few belongings. He used that word — ‘belongings,'” she said. “I pictured myself trying to cram all the stuff my Cancer heart wouldn’t let go of into his car. That was not going work.”

Movie Star: They Always Say They’re Single is out as an ebook and audiobook on February 1.

Burna Boy‘s “Common Person” visuals have arrived.

The Nigerian singer released the music video for the song on Monday. It follows the artist as he returns to a village in Nigeria and takes on the role of a regular person, although the community is well aware of his stardom. From helping to make food, to helping push a stalled car, the video highlights the everyday stories of ordinary people in the country and conveys the message that the Grammy Award-winner hasn’t forgotten his roots.

Common Person” is from Burna Boy’s sixth studio album Love, Damini, which was released in July 2022, and is available to stream now.

“It Matters to Her” is Scotty McCreery‘s sixth top 25 hit in a row. In fact, his five previous hits have all topped the chart, starting with 2017’s “Five More Minutes.”

But this one in particular is a nod to his wife, Gabi, whom he married in 2018. Last October, the couple welcomed their first child, a son named Avery.

“This was a song that I loved writing, and I love the message behind it,” Scotty says of the latest single from his album Same Truck. “And when I first got the demo back, I was in the gym.”

“And I typically have a playlist going for the gym,” he continues, “but I just listened to this one on repeat for like 20 times before I was done. I was like, ‘Man, I really love it. Gotta get it on the record!'”

As you might expect, Mrs. McCreery is a fan of the song, too.

“I played it for Gabi and she loved it, as well,” Scotty recalls. “She particularly liked one line and that was the ‘shut up and listen to what she has to say’ line. She was like, ‘Now that’s a winner right there!’ So she did love the song for sure.”

Scotty’s currently on the Damn Strait Tour, named for his previous #1. Later this year, he hits the road with Brooks & Dunn on the Reboot trek.

Graham Nash shares the “magic” of working with David Crosby

Graham Nash is once again looking back fondly on his musical partnership with the late David Crosby, who passed away earlier this month at the age of 81.

Nash shared a classic photo of him and Crosby recording in the studio, writing, “I’ve been hesitant to share photos of us in the past. People leave such nasty comments sometimes that belittle the complexities of a long-term friendship and musical partnership.”

He adds, “But here is a photo of David and I recording in 1971. There was real magic between us. That much I know.”

And their Crosby, Stills & Nash singing partner Stephen Stills agrees, commenting on the photo, “Magic, indeed.” Nash responded, “You’re such a big part of that magic, Stephen.”

Nash has paid tribute to Crosby several times since his bandmate’s death, previously sharing he was “grateful to have sung with him, played with him, butted heads with him, and for going through so much together,” adding, “It’s his beautiful music that will live forever in all of our hearts. I’m just lucky to have known him.”

While TikTok can give older songs new life, that’s not the reason Minneapolis native Wyn Starks is seeing his 2020 song “Who I Am” climbing the radio airplay charts now. While it’s had a slow and steady build, Wyn says it’s connecting with people in 2023 because he sang it on America’s Got Talent last year.

“Of course, when you write music, you want it to have an impact, y’know? But I had no idea it would have this kind of impact,” he tells ABC Audio. “And one thing I also didn’t realize is how it would help people through grief.”

When Wyn sang it on AGT, he connected it to the passing of his twin brother.

“It was one of my twin brother’s favorite songs of mine. And so when I sang it on AGT to honor him … I had no idea the new life that it would take on,” Wyn says. “I’m having so many people hit me up, saying how it’s helping them get through … losing a loved one.”

Wyn, who did his first headlining tour last year, says his audience was made up of people who saw him on AGT; people who were already aware of him and his 2021 album, Black Is Gold; and people who’ve simply heard “Who I Am” on the radio.

“Then they go to the AGT audition, so they get to hear more of the story behind it,” he says.

Wyn actually wrote the song about his “journey in becoming … the artist I am, the person I am.” He says fans “who are just coming into theirselves” are finding it helpful, too.

As he says, “To hear those stories … it’s healing for me and then it reminds me why I do this.”
