As part of Taylor Swift’s inclusion in The New York TimesMagazine‘s 30 Greatest American Songwriters Alive list, the publication tapped someone to write a tribute to her who many feel should have been included on the list herself: Stevie Nicks.
However, Stevie doesn’t seem to feel it’s a slight. She posted a link to her tribute on her Instagram Story and wrote, “It’s always an honor to speak about my good friend Taylor Swift.”
In the tribute, she focuses on Taylor’s Midnights track “You’re On Your Own, Kid,” which she says is the song that “reconnected” her to Taylor. Stevie notes that the song helped her process the grief of losing her Fleetwood Mac bandmate Christine McVie in 2022.
“I feel that her song is generational. I think it’s all of her relationships written into one song — a little bit of this, a little bit of that — and dropped into my lap,” Stevie writes. “Over time, I have dropped in my own great loves to stand in her story, and it makes me cry for both of us — what we lost, what we learned and how we survived. That is how a great songwriter reaches into people’s hearts and connects with them.”
Speaking generally about Taylor, Stevie goes on to write, “All that beauty and tragedy and life’s lessons have led her down this path of unstoppable creativity; she just doesn’t stop, and that is what has turned her into this beautiful young woman who makes magic with everything she touches.”
Stevie also penned a little poem about Taylor and the song: “You ask about her brilliance. I can only say~ If only I had — written it … For me, this song will always live ~ In my heart.”

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler just nabbed a win in the lawsuit brought by a woman who accused him of sexual assault.
Julia Holcomb aka Julia Misley filed the lawsuit against Tyler back in 2022. She and Tyler had a three-year relationship starting in 1973 when she was 16 and he was 20. In her suit, she accused him of sexual assault, assault and battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
While Holcomb filed the suit in California, the suit argued that the alleged sexual assault happened in several states across the country. On Tuesday, the judge in the case ruled that the accusations of sexual assault in other states cannot be tried in California and only the California allegations can move forward, which in this case refers to one incident in 1974.
“This is a massive win for Steven Tyler. Today, the Court has dismissed with prejudice 99.9% of the claims against Mr. Tyler in this case,” Tyler’s lawyer David Long-Daniels said in a statement provided to ABC Audio. “The court has decided that only one night, fifty-plus years ago, out of a three year relationship is allowed to remain. We look forward to trying this case on August 31.”
In her suit, Holcomb said she and Tyler were allowed to be together because the rocker got her mother to grant him guardianship over her, which allowed her to live and travel with him. She claimed she “was powerless to resist” the rock star’s “power, fame and substantial financial ability,” and that he “coerced and persuaded” her into believing their relationship was a “romantic love affair.”
Lawyers for Holcomb have not yet responded to ABC Audio’s request for comment.

Country rebel David Allan Coe passed away Wednesday at the age of 86, his wife confirmed to Rolling Stone.
“One of the best singers, songwriters, and performers of our time [and] never to be forgotten,” Kimberly Hastings Coe wrote to the magazine. “My husband, my friend, my confidant and my life for many years. I’ll never forget him and I don’t want anyone else to ever forget him either.”
He’s perhaps best known for the perennial bar sing-along “You Never Even Called Me by My Name,” with its spoken word section that Ella Langley pointed to as one of the inspirations for her non-traditional smash “you look like you love me.”
Born in Akron, Ohio, in 1939, Coe did early stints in the penal system for a variety of charges, grand theft auto among them.
By 1967 he’d moved to Nashville, where he was discovered by producer Shelby Singleton. By 1973, he’d written Tanya Tucker’s #1 “Would You Lay With Me (in a Field of Stone).”
The top-10 success of his own “You Never Even Called Me by My Name” came in 1975, followed by another one of his major triumphs in 1977: Johnny Paycheck took Coe’s “Take This Job and Shove It” to #1, as well.
Though he continued making albums until 2006, collaborating with members of the rock band Pantera on the Rebel Meets Rebel project, his last major musical success was 1983’s top-five hit “The Ride,” an ode to Hank Williams.
Druski to host BET Awards 2026 (Credit: Erik Umphrey)
The BET Awards are back for another year, this time with Druski as host.
The comedian — who rose to fame through viral skits, comedy tours, and collaborations with Snoop Dogg andKevin Hart, among others — is making history as the youngest host of the show at 31, surpassing the record Kevin set in 2011.
“It’s an honor to be the youngest host EVER for the BET Awards,” Druski said in a statement. “I grew up watching the BET Awards and, to know the comedic legends that hosted before me set the bar so high, I’m just grateful to be a part of the history. BUT I’m still bringing my brand of comedy to the stage, so expect a little chaos, a lot of laughs, and some of your favorite Druski characters to pop out along the way.”
“I told BET if I’m hosting, we gon’ do this my way,” he said. “Rule #1: Jamie Foxx, take that big a** hat off. Rule #2: Sexyy Red, no leggings, rompers, body suits. We don’t need no wrestlers, no wrestlers on the red carpet. Black suit and tie. Rule #3: YNs, take the ski masks off, man. Stop. Stop it.”
“Rule #4, mega pastors, listen I know ya’ll on my back right now,” Druski said, referring to the backlash from his mega church skit. “I been getting the DMs and the threats. Just leave it up to God. Leave it up to God. We gon’ lock them doors, and can’t nobody get out.”
“Welcome to the 2026 BET Awards,” he continued. “They gon’ be like this n**** crazy.”
BET Awards 2026 aka Culture’s Biggest Night will air June 28 at 8 p.m. ET on BET.
Myles Smith, ‘My Mess, My Heart, My Life.’ (Sony Music UK/RCA Records)
Myles Smith is protecting his peace.
He’s announced on Instagram that he’s delayed the release of his debut album, My Mess, My Heart, My Life., from a June 12 release to a June 19 release. “One week. That’s all,” he wrote. “Here’s the truth: I’m close to burning out. The last couple of months I’ve spent more time overseas than I have at home.”
“Living out of bags, constantly moving, constantly on. And somewhere in all of that i stopped being still. Stopped taking any of it in,” he continued. “I don’t want to meet this moment exhausted. I want to be properly there. Smiling, present, actually feeling everything with you.”
After noting his fans’ support has been “overwhelming,” he added, “[It’s] made me understand how much this album means. Not just as a release but as a moment we share together. So I’m taking that extra week. A week to breathe. To come back to myself. To make sure that when June 19 arrives, I can actually stand in it with you and feel proud of what we’ve built. … It’s ours. It has always been ours.”
Myles wrote in the comments, “You guys really got my back. I’m forever grateful. It’s good to be allowed to be human and feel safe with you. Thank you.”
He also announced the release of his favorite song on the album, “Hold Me in the Dark,” which will be out May 8.
Myles starts his stadium tour with Ed Sheeran on June 13; it’ll run concurrently with his own headlining dates, which begin June 16.

Charlie Puth played the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, on Wednesday night and brought out some special guests, including the artist who joined him on his biggest hit.
Wiz Khalifa joined Charlie onstage for a performance of “See You Again,” their 2015 song from the Furious 7 soundtrack that spent 12 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. And Coco Jones, who appears on Charlie’s current album, Whatever’s Clever!, popped up to sing their duet “Sideways.”
But perhaps the most surprising guest appearances came from Jennifer Hudson and gospel legend Kirk Franklin, who teamed up with Charlie to perform Kirk’s hit “Silver and Gold.”
They aren’t the only guests who’ve joined Charlie for his current tour: On April 25, Kenny Loggins, who also appears on Whatever’s Clever!,popped up at Charlie’s show in Santa Barbara, California, to sing their collaboration “Love in Exile.”
Warren Haynes is giving fans a preview of his upcoming album.
The Gov’t Mule frontman has released a live version of “Banks of the Deep End,” which originally appeared on Gov’t Mule’s 2001 album, The Deep End, Volume 1.
The new version of the song is an orchestral arrangement with Haynes backed by the 64-piece Asheville Symphony Orchestra. The performance was recorded at his 2019 Dreams & Songs symphonic show in his hometown of Asheville, North Carolina.
“‘Banks of the Deep End’ is one of the songs that we probably play more than any other,” says Haynes. “Although it doesn’t vary as much on a nightly basis as some of the other tunes, it somehow takes on its own personality just based on the song itself and the lyric and uniqueness of the chord structure and the melody.”
He adds, “Playing it with a symphony emphasizes all the dramatic and dynamic changes that song presents, and it’s wonderful hearing it in that light.”
The song, out now via digital outlets, is the first track released from Haynes’ upcoming symphonic album, Dreams & Songs. Details on the album will be released at a later date.
The release coincides with Haynes’ next Dreams & Songs Symphonic Experience show, taking place Thursday at The Orpheum Theater in New Orleans, where he’ll be backed by the Chicago City Lights Orchestra. He will return to the venue on Friday with Gov’t Mule for the final night of their spring headlining tour.
