Alice Cooper has been wearing makeup on stage for years, and now, he’s teamed with the vegan and cruelty free cosmetics brand Vampyre Cosmetics for a new makeup line that will be out just in time for Halloween.
The Alice Cooper Collection, designed to “exude Alice’s style,” features makeup palettes shaped like guitars and amps and two lipsticks shaped like a microphone: one in pink and one in lime green. There will also be a new version of his unisex Whiplash mascara, also shaped as a microphone.
For the first time in more than 35 years, one of Linda Ronstadt‘s landmark albums will be available on vinyl.
Linda’s 1987 album, Canciones de mi Padre (My Father’s Songs), her first album of traditional Mexican music, returns to vinyl on September 8 and is now available for preorder. A newly remastered CD version will also arrive that day.
“This music is like an old friend to me, and I hope the new generation of vinyl fans will enjoy it,” Ronstadt says in a statement.
The album, featuring Linda singing music she first experienced as a child, was an immediate hit and has gone on to sell more than 10 million copies worldwide. In fact, for more than 30 years, it was the biggest-selling non-English language album in the history of American music.
Canciones de mi Padre also won the 1987 Grammy Award for Best Mexican-American Album, and was chosen for preservation by the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry in 2022. Ronstadt followed it with two additional albums of Mexican music: 1991’s Mas Canciones (More Songs) and 1992’s Frenesí (Frenzy).
In other Linda Ronstadt news, she’ll be honored next month at 2023 HOCO Fest, which is held every year in her hometown of Tucson, Arizona. Each day of the festival, which runs September 1 to 4, will celebrate a different era of her career, and two documentaries about the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer will be screened. Joe Walsh is once again getting some big-name artists together to help veterans.
The Eagles guitarist just announced the lineup for his seventh annual VetsAid concert, taking place November 12 at North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in San Diego, California, the first time the concert is being held at an outdoor venue.
This year’s concert will be headlined by Jeff Lynne’s ELO, marking their first show in four years, along with Walsh and special guest Stephen Stills. Other artists on the bill include The War On Drugs, The Flaming Lips and Lucius.
“VetsAid is back for 2023 and we’re taking it outside in beautiful San Diego to support California’s veteran population.” Walsh explains. “My friends and I will see you under the stars this November 12th!”
Proceeds from the concert will be donated directly to charities helping veterans. This year’s concert will specifically help organizations based in, or with operations on the ground in, Southern California. In the seven years Walsh has been holding the VetsAid concerts, the organization has given out $3 million in grants.

The Cult members Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy have announced a tour under the band’s early name, Death Cult.
The outing includes just one U.S. date — October 23 in Los Angeles — before heading to the U.K. and Ireland in November. Tickets go on sale Friday, August 18, at 10 a.m. local time.

The story of Death Cult dates back to Astbury’s band Southern Death Cult, which began in 1981 before breaking up in 1983. Astbury then linked up with guitarist Duffy to form Death Cult, which then became simply The Cult in 1984.
During the tour, Astbury and Duffy will be playing songs from the Southern Death Cult and Death Cult eras, as well as from the first two The Cult records.
Meanwhile, The Cult will be touring the U.S. as The Cult in October.
Selena Gomez just might have some new music coming.
A cryptic website, illbesinglesoon.com, offers fans a chance to sign up for email updates from Selena. Also, posters started appearing in Texas — Selena’s home state — bearing the same “Single Soon” message as the website and tear-off numbers.
Calling the number gets you a recorded message that could be from Selena’s little sister, Gracie. The voice says, “Hi I love you, Sissy. Never worry about boyfriends: at all.” That’s followed by a steady drumbeat.
A third clue is that something called “Club 90s Single Soon: Selena Gomez Night” has been booked for August 26t at LA’s Teragram Ballroom. Because August 25 is a Friday, fans are now speculating that the new single is coming on that day.
Further proof is a photo that Selena posted on her Instagram Story over the weekend, which was captured by a fan Twitter account. It shows her sitting at a table in a restaurant looking at her phone, which is displaying the date “8-25.”
Back in June, Selena posted photos of herself in a recording studio and wrote, “don’t worry guys, it’s coming.” The new music will be her first release since 2021’s Spanish-language EP Revelación and her first solo English-language release since 2022’s standalone single “My Mind & Me.”
Selena’s last full-fledged album was 2020’s Rare. She’s currently at the top of the charts thanks to her “Calm Down” remix with Rema.
Bob Dylan has paid tribute to his good friend The Band’s Robbie Robertson, who passed away Wednesday, August 9, at the age of 80.
“This is shocking news,” Dylan shared in a statement on his website. “Robbie was a lifelong friend. His passing leaves a vacancy in the world.”
Dylan and Robertson knew each other since the ’60s. In 1965, Robertson and his bandmates in the Hawks (the original name of The Band) — Levon Helm, Richard Manuel, Rick Danko and Garth Hudson — played in Dylan’s backing band for a series of concerts.
Robertson also played guitar on Dylan’s classic 1966 album, Blonde on Blonde, as well as 1974’s Planet Waves and more. Dylan was also one of several musicians who appeared at The Band’s final concert, which was filmed for the 1978 concert documentary The Last Waltz.
The tributes poured in on social media Monday, August 14, after reports surfaced that Magoo, the rapper who often partnered on songs with Timbaland, died at the age of 50.
“This one hits different,” Timbaland wrote on Instagram. “Long live Melvin aka magoo !!! Tim and Magoo forever. rest easy my king.”
The legendary producer shared a series of memories to social media, including a throwback video of the duo performing their debut song, “Up Jumps Da’ Boogie.”
R&B singer Ginuwine reflected on his friendship with the rapper, writing in an Instagram post that he was “totally one of the best ever.”
“I don’t even know how to say anything at this point,” Ginuwine said. “I have lost 3 friends now within a month to LIFE and it’s due date ….this dude , always pushed me …I will mis you maganooo that’s what we called him.”
News of the passing of Magoo, born Melvin Barcliff, circulated after a post by recording artist DigitalBlack made its rounds on Monday.
“Man can’t believe this RIH Magoo damn big bro wasnt ready for this at all,” he wrote.
In the late ’80s, Magoo and Timbaland formed a rap group and went on to produce three studio albums: Welcome to Our World, Indecent Proposal and Under Construction, Part II.

If your mom is No Doubt‘s Gwen Stefani and your dad is Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale, there’s a pretty good bet that you’ll end up with some musical talent.
That’s what the former couple’s eldest son, Kingston,proved Friday, August 11, when he took the stage at Ole Red, the bar and live music venue in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, that’s owned by his stepfather, country superstar Blake Shelton.
As captured by a fan on TikTok, 17-year-old Kingston sang with a guitarist and keyboardist backing him up, and the crowd seemed to love it.
“Love you guys, thank you for being here!” Kingston said after his performance. “Thank you, it means everything to me, really.” He and Shelton then shared a big hug.
According to The Oklahoman, Kingston also told the crowd of 400 that he’d learned to play guitar during quarantine and that he performed two original songs: a ballad and an “angsty alternative-rock ode.”
The same fan captured a Friday, August 11, performance by Stefani and Shelton at the same venue: a joint rendition of No Doubt’s “Don’t Speak.” The couple’s Ten Points Ranch is located in Tishomingo, so it’s no wonder they happened to be in the neighborhood.
Rossdale and Stefani share three children. They were married from 2002 to 2016. Stefani married Shelton in 2021.
Lionel Richie was forced to cancel his concert with Earth Wind & Fire at New York’s Madison Square Garden Saturday, August 12, and fans are not at all happy about it.
Richie took to social media to announce that the show couldn’t go on “due to severe weather and being unable to land in the NY and surrounding areas.” The problem was that the cancellation announcement came one hour after the show was about to start, when most fans with tickets were already at the venue.
The concert has been rescheduled for Monday, August 14, and fans will get refunds if they can’t make it. Earth, Wind & Fire is supposed to headline a show in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on the same day, although they’re still on the bill for the NYC concert.
As you can imagine, fans, especially ones who traveled from out of town for the show, were not happy, and many were not buying Lionel’s excuse.
“When the ‘weather excuse’ feels cloudier than the actual sky,” one person commented. “Why no heads-up before we crammed the auditorium?” Another noted, “Nope. People spent money traveling g eating and drinking. I’m our seats!! No respect. Weather? The weather on the east coast is fine. Not acceptable.”
