Jason Christopher, former bassist for Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor‘s solo band, claims that he’s been blacklisted in the music industry after being let go from the group.

In a lengthy Facebook post, Christopher writes that he was fired after testing positive for COVID-19 following a rehearsal in August 2021. Christopher says that he didn’t feel well during the rehearsal, but dismissed the idea of COVID since he was vaccinated.

Christopher tested positive the next day, and after telling Taylor, he “received an extremely unnerving text from him telling me that I knew I was sick when I was at rehearsal, and that my negligence could have killed his daughter, his mother in law.” Christopher says he apologized to Taylor, but “Corey, and his entire camp shut me out.”

“I was now completely blacklisted from a ‘career’ that I was finally able to say was starting to get somewhere,” Christopher writes.

Should Christopher be trying to rectify the situation, we’re guessing that what he writes about Taylor’s CMFT solo album won’t help matters.

“80% of that music was absolute garbage, and none of my real friends hesitated to tell me that when the first album came out,” Christopher writes.

Meanwhile, Alicia Taylor, Corey’s wife and founder of the Cherry Bombs band that frequently tours with him, has issued an Instagram post in response to Christopher, saying that he was not fired for contracting COVID-19, but because he didn’t adhere to the testing protocols set for the entire band, which asked all members to test prior to rehearsals.

“The irresponsibility of not doing his part by getting tested in advance so that measures could be taken is why he’s no longer here,” Alicia writes.

Jon Pardi‘s set to take his Mr. Saturday Night World Tour across the pond soon. Even though shows will be in smaller venues compared to his stateside runs, performing to fans abroad is something he’s thrilled about.

“I’m just looking forward to seeing the fans out there, playing some venues that we haven’t played before and kinda going back to more of a smaller setting when we’ve been doing big shows out here in the States,” Jon shares. “It’ll definitely be different, but I think it’ll be very memorable.”

“I know it’s pretty much sold out, and that’s exciting,” he continues. “I know all the interviews I’ve done with the people interviewing me, they just talk about how everybody’s so excited and it’s a big deal and so I want to make sure they get a great show.”

Jon will kick off the international leg of his Mr. Saturday Night World Tour on August 25 in Belfast before making stops in Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol, London, Stockholm and more.

His current single, “Your Heart or Mine,” is #4 on the country charts.

It was recently reported that one of Scooter’s other clients, Justin Bieber, was leaving his stable, but that was denied.

Devo ready to say goodbye to the road

Devo is set to launch a new U.S. tour in November, so fans may want to make sure they see them because it will likely be their last chance. The band has confirmed they’ll be retiring from the road after the trek, and in a new interview with The Guardian, they open up about their decision.

As for why they have are hanging it up, Devo’s Mark Mothersbaugh says, “Are you married? Imagine you had four wives and you worked together. It’s tricky being in a band.”

Gerald Casale added, “You’ve got a body of work informed by a whole manifesto and philosophy. Do you let go and move on to the next thing? You want change, otherwise you’re stale, but you don’t want to be contrived.”

However, it does sound like Casale is going to miss being on the road with the band. “I’m in denial,” he says. “Because I love performing and I’ll hate to see it go. It was part of Devo’s DNA. But we did as well as we could, for as long as we could.”

Even though they’ll be off the road, Devo fans still have some things to look forward to. A new box set of rarities is coming in September, and a documentary, directed by Chris Smith, is in the works.

Devo’s Celebrating 50 Years of De-evolution tour kicks off November 3 in Paso Robles, California, wrapping November 18 in Huntington Beach, California. So far there’s no word on whether any other U.S. dates will be added to the trek. A complete list of Devo dates can be found at clubdevo.com.

Queen’s Greatest Hits album is short one hit on the audio platform Yoto, which is aimed at children.

While 16 tracks from the album are available, including “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Another One Bites The Dust” and “We Will Rock You,” the band’s 1978 classic “Fat Bottomed Girls” is nowhere on the site.

“Fat Bottomed Girls” does contain some raunchy lyrics, which some parents may not want kids to hear, including, “Left alone with big fat Fanny/ She was such a naughty nanny/ Hey, big woman, you made a bad boy out of me.”

In addition to the removal of “Fat Bottomed Girls,” the album comes with a warning for parents, which reads, “Please note that the lyrics in some of these songs contain adult themes, including occasional references to violence and drugs.” It suggests parental discretion before playing them for young children.

So far, Queen has not directly commented on the song’s removal, although a rep did tell Entertainment Weekly that the band did OK the song’s removal.

And apparently parents seem to be eager to let their kids appreciate the music of Queen. Yoto tells the mag the album is its “biggest ever music launch and one of our fastest ever selling cards.”

A year ago — August 21, 2022 — Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck held a massive celebration for their wedding in Georgia, which followed their Las Vegas nuptials on July 16. J-Lo acknowledged the anniversary on Monday by teasing some lyrics from her upcoming album This Is Me … Now.

Jennifer posted two photos from the Georgia celebration — one of Ben carrying her and one of them kissing as fireworks explode in the sky — and wrote, “One year ago today.” She then posted the lyrics, “Sitting here alone/Looking at my ring ring/Feeling overwhelmed/It makes me wanna sing sing/How did we end up here/Without a rewind/Oh my/This is my life.”

She added the hashtag “#DearBenPartII” — which is the name of the song — as well as #ThisIsMeNow.

So far, there’s been no release date for This Is Me … Now, which will be a sequel of sorts to her 2002 album This Is Me … Then. The song “Dear Ben Part II” is itself a sequel to the 2002 album’s track “Dear Ben.”  When it does come out — and it’s supposed to arrive this year — it’ll be her first studio album in nine years.
