The Biffy Clyro offshoot band Empire State Bastard has shared a new song called “Moi?”
The track will appear on the debut ESB album Rivers of Heresy, due out September 1.
“‘Moi?’ is about people who just no matter what you talk about — and I’m guilty of this at points — will never ever see the truth, even if you dangle it in front of them,” says vocalist Simon Neil. “Ignorance can feel like a badge of honor these days, with people being stubborn and not being willing to enlighten themselves. I cannot believe we’ve got to the stage where that’s to be cherished.”

Doechii, the genre-defying rising music artist from Florida known for the popular song “What It Is,” landed the cover of Allure for the magazine’s Melanin Edit series.
In the interview aimed at answering the question, “What does a nerd look like?” the 25-year-old star opens up about her rise to fame as well as a few personal topics she says helped shaped her career journey.
Born Jaylah Hickmon, she created the Doechii persona in sixth grade as way to find courage to be her truest self.
“I was just trying to be who everybody wanted me to be because I just wanted to be loved,” she said. “But then … I told myself … I can be gay, I can be weird, I can sing, I can listen to rock music, I can learn how to write rock music. I can do whatever. I can be myself.”
Middle school was a troubling time for the star, who says she felt misunderstood. Doechii would get asked prying questions about her appearance and personal life that made her “really anxious all the time.”
Now, after letting go of the unwarranted opinions by others, Doechii is living her best music and personal life.
“I’m in a position where I want to win,” she said. “I just needed to love myself as an artist and now that I do, I want to be the best.”
Britney Spears has tentatively returned to the charts thanks to collaborations with Elton John and will.i.am, but it might take no less a figure than the Queen of Pop to get her to return to live performance.
A source tells Page Six that Madonna is hoping Britney will join her onstage at some point on her Celebration Tour, which begins in October. Apparently, the two have the same agent, in addition to having known each other for years — you may recall that Madonna even attended Britney’s wedding to her soon-to-be-ex husband, Sam Asghari, last year.
Reportedly, Madonna wants Britney onstage with her to help her mark the 20th anniversary of their 2003 duet “Me Against the Music,” ideally during one of her five rescheduled dates at LA’s Kia Forum in March of 2024.
The source dishes, “Madonna originally wanted Britney to join her on tour this year. Everything was pushed back because of her illness, but she still wants Britney to join her at the Kia Forum.”
In a deleted Instagram post from September of 2022, Britney wrote that she “won’t probably perform again,” due to her being “traumatized” from her conservatorship.
Meanwhile, the source claims that some of the dance routines on Madonna’s tour have been “toned down” so they won’t be “so strenuous” on the legendary performer, who landed in the hospital several months ago with a serious bacterial infection.
Claims the source, “She will still be putting on a great show, but her team’s main concern is ensuring that she’s healthy and can get through the tour from start to finish.”
