Foghat just dropped the first single from their upcoming 17th studio album, Sonic Mojo, which is due out November 10.

The band has shared the track “Drivin’ On,” which they co-wrote with drummer Roger Earl’s former Savoy Brown bandmate Kim Simmonds before he passed away in December 2022.

“It really is a Foghat sounding song,” Bryan Bassett shared in a video released by the band. “There’s a lot of diverse, kind of, approaches on this record, but we definitely put the hat on that one.”

Vocalist/guitarist Scott Holt adds, “A song like ‘Drivin’ On’ celebrates the swamp funk blues of Slim Harpo and the cosmic boogie of John Lee Hooker.”

“Drivin’ On” is one of three songs Simmonds co-wrote for the album; another one, “She’s A Little Bit of Everything,” drops September 23, while the third, “I Don’t Appreciate You,” will be released October 20.

Sonic Mojo will be released on CD and 180-gram neon purple vinyl. It is available for preorder now.

Liam Payne has been forced to cancel his scheduled South American tour because he’s in the hospital.

In a video message on Instagram, the former One Direction member reveals that he’s been “a little bit unwell” lately and was subsequently hospitalized for a “bad kidney infection.”

He goes on to say that he started rehearsals for the tour but explains, “I’ve just been advised now’s not really the right time to be out on the road trying to recover from this.”

Right now, he says he’s surrounded by “the best people at home trying to help me recover” and looks forward to putting on “an even bigger, better show” in the future.

In the caption, Liam writes, “It’s with a heavy heart I have to tell you that we have no other choice but to postpone my upcoming tour of South America. Over the past week I’ve been in hospital with a serious kidney infection, it’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone, and doctors orders are that I now need to rest and recover.”

“I was beyond excited to come play for you guys,” he writes. “To all of you who have bought tickets: I’m so sorry. We’re working to re-schedule the tour as soon as we possibly can, but for now we will be refunding the tickets …Thanks as always for the love and support, and look forward to seeing you soon.”

Liam’s tour was to have started in Lima, Peru, on September 1.

Talk about striking while the iron is hot: “Barbie Girl” band Aqua will tour the U.S. this fall on the Barbie World Tour.

The Danish band is, of course, featured on the hit “Barbie World” by Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice, which you can find on the soundtrack of the Barbie movie. This past summer, they played two sold-out shows in New York City and LA, so now they’re taking their act on the road.

“We’ve been working for this for 27 years! Performing two … shows … this summer was a dream come true, and to be able to come back soon for a nation-wide tour is absolutely insane,” the group says in a statement. “We cannot wait to meet everyone for the first time, face to face.”

The tour kicks off November 12 in Seattle and is set to wrap December 20 in LA. A press release says that fans can expect “a kaleidoscopic explosion of 90s wonder, where glitter, pink and pulsating beats reign supreme.”

A Spotify Fans First presale starts Monday, August 28, at 10 a.m. ET; the general onsale is August 30 at 10 a.m. ET.

While most U.S. fans only know Aqua from their 1997 top 10 hit “Barbie Girl,” the group has sold 38 million albums and seven million singles worldwide. The “Barbie Girl” video has also racked up more than one billion views on YouTube.

Alice Cooper’s controversial comments about the trans community have now cost him a makeup deal.

Vampyre Cosmetics recently announced a new collaboration with Cooper, The Alice Cooper Collection, set to drop around Halloween, but after Cooper’s comments in Stereogum, they have canceled their plans.

“In light of recent statements by Alice Cooper we will no Longer be doing a makeup collaboration,” read a post on the company’s Instagram account. “We stand with all members of the LGBTQIA+ community and believe everyone should have access to healthcare. All pre-order sales will be refunded.”

In the interview, Cooper said he was concerned that being transgender was “a fad” and took issue with “the whole woke thing,” noting it’s become “laughable.”

Cooper also suggested people should be worried about transgender folks in public bathrooms. He said, “Somebody’s going to get raped, and the guy’s going to say, ‘Well, I felt like a girl that day, and then I felt like a guy.’ Where do you draw this line?”

Also featured on I Told Them…, the 15-track collection out via Spaceship, Bad Habit and Atlantic Records, is the Byron Messia-collaborative bonus track, “Talibans II.”

Burna’s seventh studio project, I Told Them…, blends elements of ’90’s hip-hop with his signature Afrobeats sounds and storytelling abilities.

In a recent interview, the Nigerian singer explained that the album title is reflective of predictions he had in the past about how successful he’d be in the future.

“… It’s like everyone that ever heard me speak in the past or when I’d first started … I basically predicted everything that’s happening now,” he said. “It’s fun to tell people something is true, and they doubt, and then they end up seeing it. There’s no greater feeling.”

Promo week for the album included a sneak peek of the track with J. Cole called “Thanks.”

Burna referred to Cole as a “legend” when speaking about the rapper’s influence on music.

The release of I Told Them… comes with a special edition magazine meant to serve as a collector’s item for fans. Copies of the magazine can be picked up during a limited time, exclusively at select pop-up events and on Burna’s official website

Red Bull Records

Beartooth has shared a new song called “Doubt Me,” a track off their upcoming album, The Surface.

“We all have our own struggles that we deal with quietly,” says frontman Caleb Shomo. “Sometimes, it can be hard to explain to the people around you what you’re dealing with. What may be perceived by others as weakness is actually a battle with yourself that you know will be conquered.”

“Being in the thick of serious change is never easy, and being brought down by those who don’t understand can add to the weight,” he continues. “Know that when you’re in those moments, sometimes you need to just put your head down and fight with all you have, regardless of whatever people say you’re capable of at the moment.”

You can listen to “Doubt Me” now via digital outlets and watch its accompanying video streaming now on YouTube.

The Surface, the follow-up to 2021’s Below, arrives October 13. It also includes the previously released songs “Riptide,” “Sunshine!” and “Might Love Myself.”

Carlos Santana has apologized after video surfaced of him making seemingly anti-trans comments at a recent concert in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

“I am sorry for my insensitive comments. They don’t reflect that I want to honor and respect all person’s ideals and beliefs,” he wrote in a since-deleted post on Facebook. “I realize that what I said hurt people and that was not my intent. I sincerely apologize to the transgender community and everyone I offended.”

In the video, Santana is heard telling the audience, “a woman is a woman and a man is a man. That’s it,” adding, “Whatever you wanna do in the closet, that’s your business. I’m okay with that.”

“Here is my personal goal that I strive to achieve every day. I want to honor and respect all person’s ideals and beliefs whether they are LGBTQ or not,” he writes in his apology. “This is the planet of free will and we have all been given this gift. I will now pursue this goal to be happy and have fun, and for everyone to believe what they want and follow in your hearts without fear.”

He concludes, “It takes courage to grow and glow in the light that you are and to be true, genuine, and authentic. We grow and learn to shine our light with Love and compliments. Have a glorious existence. Peace.”

There’s no word on why the post was removed, but Santana did replace it with another one that seems to be related to the subject. “the energy of consciousness generates its own kind,” he writes. “hate begets hate love begets love.”
