Artists have been getting hit onstage with things that fans throw at them of late, but Ellie Goulding managed to get by one of her own special effects.
According to People, a video posted by a TikTok user shows Ellie onstage at the Victorious Festival in Portsmouth, England, performing her Calvin Harris collaboration “Miracle,” which hit #1 in the U.K. Just as she sings the line “To believe in a miracle,” a pyrotechnics effect goes off and appears to hit her in the face.
She stops for a split second, yells “F***” and then continues performing as though nothing had happened. It happened so quickly that many fans wrote in the comments that they’d completely missed it.
“to those asking I am ok!” she wrote. “Pyro didn’t hit me directly in the face. Face is intact. Love you thank you x.” She added a firework GIF for good measure.
Ellie and her husband, Caspar Jopling, will celebrate their fourth anniversary on Thursday, August 31. The two tied the knot in Yorkshire, England, in 2019 in front of a star-studded array of guests that included Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Sienna Miller, Sarah Ferguson, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. The couple welcomed their son, Arthur, in 2021.
Neal McCoy has released a rootsy new song, “Used Car.” The ’90s country hitmaker penned the nostalgic tune with Bobby Tomberlin and Mark Narmore.
The Grand Ole Opry will celebrate its 98th birthday with four nights of shows celebrating Women of Country Music from Wednesday, October 4, to Saturday, October 7. At every stop on his Mathematics tour, Ed Sheeran has been popping into a local business and working behind the counter — from a hot dog joint in Chicago, to a Lego store in Bloomington, Minnesota, to a cheesesteak place in Philadelphia. But his most recent stunt — working at a Starbucks in Seattle — didn’t sit well with the members of the Starbucks union.
The union’s social media account posted a photo of Ed serving up Pumpkin Spice Lattes at the Starbucks on August 25 and wrote, “Ed Sheeran working a shift at a Starbucks store in Seattle that faced massive union-busting is straight up embarrassing.”
“Not to mention almost every ‘worker’ you see in that photo wearing a green apron is management, not baristas,” the thread continued. “AND, meanwhile, workers at the Starbucks store down the street were drowning because they were grossly understaffed due to hour cuts.”
A rep from Starbucks told the website delish that the store where Ed was working isn’t represented by the union and there’s no active petition there. Starbucks also noted that the store’s schedule wasn’t changed to accommodate Ed, and several Starbucks employees said it was their “favorite day ever.”

Reba has “taken the throne” as the new coach of season 24 of NBC’s The Voice.
In a new promo video shared by The Voice and Reba, Reba dresses up in a shiny silver outfit with a crown befitting a powerful queen. Preview clips of the upcoming season are also shared, with fellow coach Gwen Stefani remarking, “I’ve had two country hits,” before Reba retorts without missing a beat, “I’ve had more than two.”
Of course, Reba’s longtime love for Tater Tots also takes the spotlight as she readies to dig into a bowl in the promo video. “Reba’s tots are soggy,” Niall Horan remarks in jest. The “Fancy” hitmaker then responds in true queen fashion with her scepter, “Off with his head!”
Season 24 of The Voice premieres September 25 on NBC.
Bob Dylan once gave Post Malone some lyrics for a new song, but why the public has never actually heard that track is a mystery.
Rolling Stonereports the tune was supposed to be part of a project producer Michael Cash came up with, which would have featured Dylan lyrics recorded by a group of hip-hop artists. It was inspired by T BoneBurnett’s 2014 project, Lost on the River: The New Basement Tapes, a project in which artists like Elvis Costello recorded songs using old but newly uncovered handwritten Dylan lyrics.
Cash reached out to Dylan’s rep, Jeff Rosen, and eventually Dylan agreed to send some lyrics for Post. The song was called “Be Not Deceived,” which Cash said was “about loss of innocence,” calling it “poetry.”
So, where’s the song? Cash says Malone came to the studio in March 2021 to record the tune, thinking Dylan was going to be there too, but he wasn’t. Malone recorded about 40%, but didn’t finish it. Cash noted, “It needed flair. It needed more layers. It wasn’t a complete piece of music, but it was definitely a song.”
Cash said the track just “needed to be finished,” but Malone never returned to the project. After a while Dylan’s camp had enough, and Cash was told they were going to retract the lyrics.
There’s no definite answer as to why Post never completed the recording. Cash says, “It just seems like nobody really managed expectations, and it just seems like nobody communicated.” He added, “A really cool piece of music got made, and then it just got weird. It got really weird.”
Chris Janson appeared on NBC’s Today on August 29 to perform his latest single, “All I Need Is You.”
Before taking the performance stage, Chris chatted with the show’s hosts about his latest album, The Outlaw Side Of Me; collaborating with Dolly Parton and Slash; and the importance of dreaming big.
“I tell people all the time: if there’s dreamers out there watching, if there’s kids out there watching, man, you have to dream big to win big. You have to reach for the stars if you ever want to touch one,” shares Chris. “You know, coming from a small-town guy. You ask me where I was from earlier. I was from a small town, Perryville, Missouri, who grew up watching The Today Show, OK? Like that’s the thing.”
“To be here and to be here multiple times, it’s like, that’s a blessing and a dream come true,” he says. “So it just goes to show anybody can do it. You can win in this country if you work hard.”
“All I Need Is You” is currently in the top 20 on the country charts.

Another day, another record for Taylor Swift.
On Tuesday, August 29, Taylor became the first female artist on Spotify to reach 100 million monthly listeners, which Spotify announced with a post headlined “Queen behavior.”
According to Variety, among all artists The Weeknd is tops with more than 110 million monthly Spotify listeners. Taylor is second, followed by Bad Bunny with 80 million and Ed Sheeran with 77 million.
Taylor’s massive amount of listeners isn’t surprising, given that her Eras Tour has sent fans to platforms like Spotify to stream albums that came out years ago. In July, she became the first living act to have four albums in the top 10 simultaneously since 1966:2022’s Midnights, 2023’s Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), 2019’s Lover and 2020’s folklore.
The superstar’s monthly listeners are likely to increase later this year, as well, when she releases 1989 (Taylor’s Version) in October.
