If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Elton John‘s musical version of The Devil Wears Prada, which was savaged by critics when it ran last year in Chicago, is opening on London’s West End next year.

According to Playbill, this production of the musical will have a new director and a “totally new creative team.” The music is still written by Elton, with lyrics by Shaina Taub, but the West End Theatre website reports that this show will be a “brand-new reimagined production” that has been “substantially reworked.”

The show is, of course, based on the 2003 book by Lauren Weisberger, which spawned the hit 2006 movie of the same name starring Meryl Streep as the imperious fashion editor Miranda Priestly and Anne Hathaway as her hapless assistant Andy.

The show will get a preview in Plymouth, England, in July of 2024 before it opens at the West End’s Dominion Theatre in October of 2024.

Variety dinged the Chicago production for its “sincere and fairly dull songs” and “overly respectful and frankly miscalculated approach to its source materials.”

Singer Eddie Money passed away at the age of 70 after a battle with cancer.

Throughout his career, Money had 11 Top 40 songs, including two Top 10 hits, “Take Me Home Tonight,” with Ronnie Spector, which peaked at #2 in 1986, and “Walk on Water,” which went to #9 in 1988.

Other classic Money songs include “Baby Hold On,” “Two Tickets to Paradise,” “Think I’m in Love” and “Shakin’.”

Money’s health began to decline in July of 2019; he developed pneumonia after undergoing a heart valve replacement. In August of that year, he revealed he had been diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer, and died a month later at Keck Hospital of USC in Los Angeles.

It’s common for superstar artists to raise money for charity by auctioning off prizes like a VIP trip to see them in concert. But Rod Stewart is going above and beyond that: He’s giving fans a chance to win the opportunity to sing with him live onstage in Las Vegas during his residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

Rod has teamed up with the website Prizeo to offer the amazing prize. He writes, “Not only will I cover your flights and accommodation in a stunning hotel in Las Vegas, but I’ll also give you premium tickets to enjoy my show from some of the best seats in the house. But wait, there’s more!”

“I’m also giving you the chance of a lifetime to join me on stage and sing along to one of my iconic hits!” he continues. “Imagine basking in the spotlight, surrounded by fellow fans, and sharing the electrifying energy that defines my concerts.”

So how do you get in on this deal? By donating money to The Prince’s Trust, which helps disadvantaged young people develop essential life skills and access job opportunities. A donation of $10 gets you 100 entries; $25 gets you 250 entries, and so on. Higher levels of donation also come with merch like T-shirts.

You can also enter without donating, but you’ll have more chances if you pony up the cash.

Of course, before you enter, check your calendar and make sure you’re free on November 11, because that’s when the tickets are for.

As revealed on Wednesday, September 13 on ABC’s Good Morning America, Jason will be dancing with pro Daniella Karagach.

Jelly Roll recalls feeling the immediate impact of his Hulu documentary

With five nominations notched as a first-time CMA Awards nominee, Jelly Roll‘s truly been on a roll this year.

Earlier in May, he released his Hulu documentary, Jelly Roll: Save Me, which set the stage for his debut country album, Whitsitt Chapel, in June. Speaking with ABC Audio recently, Jelly recounts the almost immediate impact he felt as soon as his candid documentary premiered.

“Nothing I’ve ever done in my life — no birthday, no accomplishment, no anything — has made my phone erupt the way this documentary has made my phone erupt. It is crazy,” recalls Jelly.

“I probably shouldn’t say this, but I’ll be really honest. I looked the night the documentary came out and one of my old albums was in the top five on iTunes on all genres,” he says. “And that’s clearly just people [who] had just found Jelly Roll that night and were going to see his old stuff.”

Jelly’s currently #35 on the country charts with his new Lainey Wilson-assisted single, “Save Me.”

Biffy Clyro offshoot band Empire State Bastard will make their U.S. live debut at the 2023 Riot Fest, held September 15-17 in Chicago. Speaking with ABC Audio, frontman Simon Neil shares that you can expect “visceral … ecstatic, psychedelic stoner hardcore music” from the live ESB experience.

“Not to sound like I’m a f****** sportsman, but we leave it all out there in the show,” Neil says. “There’s no doubt that you’ll have seen Empire State Bastard.”

Neil adds that he and ESB bandmate Mike Vennart experience a “spasm of expression” live, though he also makes sure to bring some levity to the show.

“When the music’s this intense, I think it’s important to not make it an oppressive experience,” Neil says. “So there hopefully will be few smiles, as well.”

Following Riot Fest, ESB will play a few shows in New York City before heading back to Europe. Neil hopes to play more shows in the U.S., possibly on the West Coast, but you probably shouldn’t expect a full Empire State Bastard tour.

“These shows feel so primal and vital that we don’t want it to become too habitual,” Neil says. “If it’s muscle memory and it becomes too performative, then I think it kinda goes against the essence of what ESB is.”

Empire State Bastard’s debut album, Rivers of Heresy, is out now. It also features ex-Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo, who plays live with ESB, as well.
