When Olivia Rodrigo released her first album, SOUR, many thought that some of the songs sounded a lot like other songs. And now that Olivia has released her new album GUTS, it seems people are still finding similarities between her songs and songs of the past.

Billboard notes that some fans on social media feel that the hook of “all american b****,” one of the songs on GUTS, sounds like “Start All Over,” from Miley Cyrus’ first post-Hannah Montana album, 2007’s Meet Miley Cyrus. As a result, that song’s streaming numbers have now gotten a huge boost, as fans are apparently checking to see if these claims are true.

According to Billboard, in the four days after GUTS was released, “Start All Over” was streamed nearly 280,000 times — more than 10 times the number of streams the song got the previous week.

We’ll find out this weekend where GUTS has debuted on the album chart. Meanwhile, Olivia has two songs in the top 30 on the Billboard Hot 100 — “vampire” and “bad idea right?” — and so does Miley: “Flowers” and “Used to Be Young.”

Tory Lanez is expected to appear in court Thursday for an update on his motion for bail while his attorneys appeal his 10-year prison sentence.

tweet shared by reporter Meghann Cuniff, who’s closely followed the case, says the hearing is set to take place at 10:30 a.m. in Los Angeles.

A judge handed down the 10-year sentence in August after Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, was convicted of felony assault for shooting and injuring hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion in July 2020.

After learning of Judge David Herriford‘s decision, Lanez’s attorney Jose Baez told reporters who attended the August hearing that they plan to appeal, saying the sentence was “extreme.”

“Tory did not get the sentence that we had certainly hoped for,” Baez said. “I think the sentence that was handed down was incredibly harsh.”

According to the motion obtained by Cuniff, if Lanez is granted release, he’ll stay far away from Megan.

“Upon release, Mr. Peterson will maintain his sobriety, and have no contact with the victim nor shall he or any of his associates by his direction address her on social media or by other means,” reads the motion, per Cuniff. “Mr. Peterson is a well-known musician; it is not possible for him to abscond. He is a household name through his artistry and philanthropy.”

*NSYNC thrilled fans when the reunited group appeared onstage at the MTV VMAs on September 12, but fans seemed equally pumped about a video the guys shared on their Instagram accounts.

The video shows the five group members laughing and chatting in an elevator, presumably on their way up to the stage to present the Best Pop Video at Tuesday night’s show. There’s no sound in the video, except for in Lance Bass‘ post: He threw in a clip of *NSYNC’s 1997 song “Here We Go.”

Each member made a dumb joke in their respective captions: Joey Fatone wrote, “Hate getting stuck in an elevator!” JC Chasez wrote, “We should start a band.” Lance wrote, “I was looking for a pun in the elevator, but it let me down.” And Justin Timberlake wrote, “So five guys walk into an elevator…”

Some celebrity fans took to the comments to express their excitement.

“Ya’ll better be making music in that elevator,” Will Smith commented. Former TRL host Carson Daly added, “It’s all coming back to me now.”

On Lance’s postSnooki commented, “MAKE *NSYNC TOUR FOR THE LOVE OF 90S KIDS.” On JC’s post, she wrote, “Omggg please baby Jesus let them go on tour.”

And other fans also seemed shook by the post.

“If there is a comeback tour I’ll sell my kidney. Whatever it takes. Bye bye bye!!!!” wrote one. “The amount of money i would pay to go see an nsync reunion tour is straight up embarrassing,” wrote another.

“All I know is my wallet is worried that my wife is going to spend all my money on whatever this is,” added another.

A reunion tour is highly unlikely. *NSYNC has simply — we think — reunited to record a song for the upcoming soundtrack of Trolls Band Together.

Back in June, Paul McCartney sat down for a chat with Stanley Tucci at the National Portrait Gallery in London to promote McCartney’s photo exhibit, Paul McCartney, Photographs 1963-64: Eyes of the Storm. The event was livestreamed across the globe, but if you missed it, you now have a second chance to check it out.

A recording of the chat is now available to rent on the National Portrait Gallery’s website for about $12; fans have until October 1 to check it out.

McCartney offered a preview clip from the chat on his YouTube page, where he breaks down a photo he took of The Beatles‘ arrival at the Miami airport, discussing the folks in the crowd who gathered for their arrival.

“That’s one of the beauties of rediscovering these [photos], because I must admit when I took it, I just grabbed it quickly, because it looked so exciting,” he says. “But then when we started looking at them, that was the great thing. You actually started to pore over them.”

Paul McCartney, Photographs 1963-64: Eyes of the Storm is at London’s National Portrait Gallery until October 1. It then moves to North America, coming to the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, Virginia, from December 5, 2023, to April 7, 2024.

After Victoria Monét dropped the music video for “On My Mama” in August, fans were hopeful they’d catch a live showing of it somewhere — possibly as her debut as the MTV Video Music Awards.

Monét only appeared at the show as an attendee, leaving those who advocated for a performance of the hit song very unhappy.

Writing to fans in a statement shared to X, formerly known as Twitter, Monét acknowledged the support and gave details on why she wasn’t given a show slot.

“I see your advocation for me to have performed tonight and I’m so grateful to you!” she wrote. “My team was told it is ‘too early in my story’ for that opportunity so we will keep working!”

One fan commented, “Telling Victoria Monét that it’s too early in her career for her to perform at the VMA’s is literally insane.”

Another wrote, “Oh, queen they played in your face with that one. On my mama would’ve been perfect and everybody would’ve known every word!”

Many pointed to Monét’s long history as an artist, including writing songs for A-listers like Nas, Ariana Grande and Chris Brown

“She’s really been at this for yearsssss!” a user tweeted. “But her humility to stay down and appreciate the love where it’s given is so inspiring!”

Monét ended her post by saying she’s thankful for her fans; for her upcoming Jaguar Tour, which kicks off Friday, September 15; and for the opportunity to watch some of her “favorite people perform tonight and receive the love they so deserve!”

“For me, it’s part of the story…and in Gods time,” the singer said.
