Dolly Parton’s upcoming album, Rockstar, is filled with plenty of A-list special guests, but there’s at least one artist Dolly wanted for the album but wasn’t able to get.

In an interview with USA Today, Dolly reveals she had hoped to get Tina Turner on the album and tried to reach out, unaware of Turner’s health issues.

“I love Tina Turner. In fact, I did not know she was ill – or as ill as she was – and I wanted her to sing on my rock ‘n’ roll album,” she says. “Chris Lord-Alge, who mixed the album, knew her. He was going over there to do some business anyway where she lives, so he was going to take that to her. And he told me, ‘You know, she’s not in good health. I don’t think this is going to happen.'”

Turner passed away in May; Dolly says she was sad Tina couldn’t be on the record, noting she picked the “perfect song” for them to do together.

“I didn’t even put it on the album. It was a song I wrote called ‘Stay Out Of My Bedroom,'” Dolly said, referring to a tune she recorded with Sylvester Stallone for the 1984 movie Rhinestone. “Maybe I’ll do it some other time with somebody else.”

Dolly Parton’s Rockstar, featuring special guests Paul McCartneyRingo StarrStevie NicksSting and more, drops November 17. It is available for preorder now.

Madonna took to Instagram on September 26 to share footage of a party marking the 18th birthday of her son David Banda, who was born September 24, 2005, in Malawi. She adopted him from the African nation in 2008.

In the footage, David is rocking a white tuxedo and shades, and is shown dancing and twerking with Madonna, his siblings and a bunch of scantily dressed folks who are busting some sexy dance moves — it’s possible some of them are Madonna’s backup dancers. We also see him blowing out the candles on his cake while Madonna gives him a big hug, then toasting his mom with champagne.

“Happy 18th Birthday David Banda!” Madonna captioned the footage. “Tribal Name – Senzangakhona – descendant of the Ngoni Tribe! It is impossible to believe that almost 18 years have gone by since We met you … at Home of Hope Orphanage!”

“Your name means ‘Speak the truth!’ I couldn’t think of a better name for an artist!” she continued. “You are growing into a truly remarkable human being! We are all so proud or you! You light up like the brightest star!”

Over the years, David has gained a reputation as a fashion plate and talented dancer; he also can sing, and play piano and guitar.

Foo Fighters‘ “Under You” currently leads not one, not two, but three Billboard charts at the same time.

The But Here We Are single is #1 on the Alternative Airplay and Mainstream Rock Airplay rankings, as well as the combined Rock & Alternative Airplay ranking.

The rise of “Under You” extends Dave Grohl and company’s record for the most #1s in the history of Rock & Alternative Airplay, which now stands at 11. The Foos now also have 12 leaders on Alternative Airplay and 13 on Mainstream Rock Airplay, which ties them for second- and fourth-most, respectively.

Red Hot Chili Peppers have the most #1 singles in Alternative Airplay history, with 15, while Shinedown leads all acts on Mainstream Rock Airplay, with 18.

But Here We Are, the first Foo Fighters album following the 2022 death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, was released in June and also includes the lead single “Rescued.” The Foos have been playing one-off headlining shows and festival dates throughout the year with new drummer Josh Freese.

Thanks to Taylor Swift’s appearance at the Kansas City Chiefs’ game on Sunday and her rumored budding relationship with tight end Travis Kelce, NFL partner Fanatics tells ABC that they’ve seen a nearly 400% uptick in Travis Kelce merch. Her appearance at the game also may have boosted ratings. Variety reports the telecast received a total audience of 24.32 million viewers, scoring the highest among female demographics ages 12-17 and 18-49 this week.

Train has been a band for 30 years, but there’s one part of the world they haven’t played — until now. The band announced Tuesday they’ll be playing shows in South Africa for the first time ever. “Of course we’ve got more tricks up our sleeves,” they wrote on social media. “South Africa, we’ll be visiting you for the first time *ever* in Cape Town and Johannesburg this May!”

Ed Sheeran is teasing a new song called “Plastic Bag” off his upcoming album, Autumn Variations. “Played some of the Autumn Variations songs for the first time on @amazonmusic last week,” Ed wrote on Instagram Tuesday. “This song is called Plastic Bag, it’s about being at your lowest and thinking that obliterating yourself on a Saturday night is gonna solve all your problems.” Autumn Variations is out Friday, September 29.

Ozzy Osbourne may be unable to tour, but he’s been busy in the studio, delivering the solo albums Ordinary Man in 2020 and Patient Number 9 in 2022. As the Prince of Darkness tells Metal Hammer, he isn’t planning on slowing down in 2024.

“I’m just starting to work on [a new record] now, and we’ll be recording in the early part of next year,” Ozzy shares. “I want to take my time with this one!”

Ozzy’s also hoping to reunite with producer Andrew Watt, who he worked with on both Ordinary Man and Patient Number 9.

“I want to do one more album and then go back on the road,” Ozzy says.

Ozzy hasn’t played a full live show since 2018 and has been hampered by a number of health issues, including requiring extensive surgery after suffering a fall in his home in 2019, which aggravated injuries he sustained in a 2003 ATV accident. In a September 19 episode of The Osbournes Podcast, Ozzy shared that he was set to undergo what he called his “final surgery” since the fall.

“I’ve had all the surgery now, thank god,” Ozzy now tells Metal Hammer. “I’m feeling okay — it was just dragging on. I thought I’d be back on my feet months ago, I just couldn’t get used to this mode of living, constantly having something wrong.”

He adds, “I can’t walk properly yet, but I’m not in any pain any more and the surgery on my spine went great.”
