Jodie Turner-Smith has filed for divorce from husband Joshua Jackson after four years of marriage, Good Morning America has confirmed.

The date of separation is listed as September 13, about a month after the two marked their fourth wedding anniversary.

Turner-Smith’s filing also asks for no spousal support for herself or Jackson and is asking for the Dawson’s Creek star to pay attorney’s fees.

According to People, Turner-Smith requested joint custody of the couple’s daughter, Juno Rose Diana Jackson, whose named was revealed publicly for the first time in the paperwork.

The celebrity couple met in 2018 and tied the knot in December 2019.

Lady Gaga won’t have to pay reward to woman involved in dognapping scheme

Lady Gaga won’t have to pay reward to woman involved in dognapping scheme

Rolling Stone reports that Lady Gaga has won a legal victory against a woman who sued her for the reward money she had offered for the return of her stolen dogs in 2021.

The woman, Jennifer McBride, initially brought the dogs, Koji and Gustav, to a Los Angeles Police Department station and said she found them tied to a pole. She then attempted to claim the $500,000 reward Gaga had offered.

It was later revealed that she knew the dogs were stolen: They had been given to her just so she could “return” them.

McBride is now serving two years of felony probation after pleading no contest to receiving the dogs. But she still sued Gaga for $2 million, arguing that she was owed the money because the singer had offered it “no questions asked.”

McBride’s initial suit was dismissed in July, but she refiled it two weeks later. Rolling Stone reports that an LA judge has ruled against McBride again.

Judge Holly J. Fujie said McBride is not “entitled to benefit from [her] wrongdoing.” In addition, the judge said McBride won’t be allowed to revise her complaint again.

Meanwhile, the actual dognappers are serving prison sentences of varying lengths of time.

Queen’s Brian May has hit out at researchers who seem to have discovered that listening to the band’s music could help release insulin and keep diabetes under control in patients.

The guitarist shared an article originally posted in Forbes about the discovery, explaining on Instagram that while he’s happy “We will Rock You can be good for your health,” he’s not happy scientists “tortured mice” in order to test their theory.

“It’s now well known that many drugs and procedures that work in mice or rats do NOT work in humans,” he writes. “And, ethically, causing pain to one species to cure the ills of another is clearly unjustifiable. So the laws requiring tests on animals MUST be changed.”

He adds, “I’m horrified that these scientists could gaily make these unfortunate animals suffer to prove a point that should have been made using human volunteers. Then I would have been smiling.”

Finally, May concludes, “It’s so easy to gloss over the disgusting way we treat animals. It has to stop. It’s high time that scientists became responsible for what they do. Time they took responsibility for the way they behave,” adding, “I will NOT be celebrating this news tonight.”

Musical about Live Aid to open in London next year

While nothing can quite compare to 1985’s all-star charity concert Live Aid, someone is going to try and recreate that feeling in the theater.

Deadline reports Live Aid organizer Bob Geldof is working on a stage musical about the legendary concerts, titled Just For One Day. It’s scheduled to run at London’s Old Vic Theatre from January 26 to March 30.

Live Aid took place in both London and Philadelphia, and featured performances by such huge stars as QueenU2The WhoPaul McCartneyDavid BowieElton John and more.

The show, directed by & Juliet’s Luke Sheppard, is expected to feature several of the songs performed during the concerts. Sheppard tells Deadline that while Geldof will be a character in the musical, it won’t have “people dressing up as the artists and doing it as a tribute — we’ve moved very far away from that.” He notes, “It’s all the extraordinary music from that day, but it’s sung by this fierce generation of musical theater artists, who just blow the roof off.”

Sheppard says Just For One Day will put the historic concerts “in the hands of the people who made it, who were there, who experienced it,” adding, “So, it’s Live Aid for the people essentially, as opposed to a kind of tribute act version of the show.”

So far, Sheppard hasn’t confirmed which songs will be used in the musical, although with a nod of his head, he did suggest to Deadline that Queen’s “We Are The Champions” and “Bohemian Rhapsody” could be in it.

In The Black Network

In The Black Network, a brand new destination for all things Black TV and entertainment, debuted Crowned, a talk show featuring four influential and popular Black women in media. On the show, Vivica A. Fox, Chanel Nicole Scott, Syleena Johnson and Kendra G. will engage in candid discussions centered around pop culture, sports and personal growth.

In conversation with ABC Audio ahead of the first episode, which premiered exclusively on the new streaming platform October 2, the ladies said they’ll infuse much of their own life and personal experiences into weekly conversations.

“We will have to be transparent,” Johnson said, revealing they’ll open up on a wide array of topics “from love to relationships to being single women, business women, mothers, dealing with health and wellness” and so much more.

Radio host Kendra G. plans to add her input on topics relatable to audiences, like dating, friendships and even motherhood aspirations.

Scott, a prominent speaker on love and relationships, said that because people oftentimes “don’t think that there’s anyone else that’s going through what they’re going through,” she’s hopeful that sharing her testimony, along with the ups and downs of life, will help others on their personal journeys.

Because fans mostly know Fox for acting, hosting and other on-screen gigs, she’s looking forward to viewers getting to know “the real Vivica.”

Crowned will serve as “a safe place to vent,” she said, adding, “it’s almost going to be like a therapy session for us every show.”

New episodes of Crowned will air Mondays on major streaming platforms and on the In the Black Network app.

A documentary about the boy bands of the late ’90s and early 2000s is coming to Paramount+. It’ll focus on New Kids on the BlockBackstreet Boys, *NSYNC, 98 Degrees and other boy bands of those eras.

The film is produced by Johnny Wright — former manager of the Backstreet BoysBritney SpearsJustin Timberlake and New Kids on the Block  and Van Toffler, who worked for MTV for 28 years, many of which were during the height of boy band mania. Tamra Davis, who directed Billy Madison, will direct.

The doc will feature interviews from all the key players of the time; it will also include music and archival footage from the bands.

“The ’90s boy band era was an extraordinary chapter in music where harmonies and beats came together, along with talented vocal artists who captivated the hearts of millions worldwide,” says Wright in a statement.

Toffler adds, “This music has dominated the charts for decades, but there’s always been a stigma attached. The reality is, these are insanely talented guys who led the requests each week when I was running TRL in the ’90s and early 2000s.”

“And, just when we all think the fervor for boy bands has dissipated, One Direction or BTS emerge, and their disciples like Harry Styles and Justin Timberlake overtake pop culture,” Toffler concludes.

No word on when the doc will stream on Paramount+, but given the frenzy surrounding the recent *NSYNC reunion, it seems there’s still plenty of interest in boy bands.

Riley Green has dropped a new track, “They Don’t Make ‘Em Like That No More.”

Authored by Riley, Aimee Mayo and Chris Lindsey, the nostalgic track finds Riley reminiscing on the familiar fixtures of yesteryear.

“‘Cause they don’t make ’em like that no more/ Some things you can’t find in the discount store/ There’s just something ’bout bein’ handmade/ And bought with cash on a firm handshake/ Like old Zebcos and pocket knives/ Shotguns, rifles, four-wheel drives/ And this worn-out pair of boots that my daddy wore/ Well, they don’t make ’em like that no more,” goes the nostalgic chorus.

“They Don’t Make ‘Em Like That No More” is the latest preview of Riley’s forthcoming album, Ain’t My Last Rodeo. Due out October 13, the 12-track project will tribute the Alabama native’s growing-up years.

“I was fortunate enough to grow up within about three miles of my grandparents, so they were a huge part of my growing up and who I am—and this album is a lot of who I am,” says Riley. “This is really the first time I was able to really take my time, write and record songs that really felt like a cohesive album—I’m really proud of it and want to thank the fans for all of their encouragement—I hope y’all enjoy it.”

Coming up, Riley will celebrate his new album with a show at Nashville’s Walk of Fame Park on October 12. For tickets, visit Riley’s website.

Ain’t My Last Rodeo, which features the Luke Combs-assisted “Different ‘Round Here,” is available for preorder now.
