Paramore played their first concert in four years Sunday in Bakersfield, California, and if that wasn’t exciting enough, the show featured the un-retirement of “Misery Business.”

You may recall that at Paramore’s last show, all the way back in 2018, Hayley Williams told the crowd that the band planned to stop playing “Misery Business” “for a really long time.”

“Four years ago, we said we were gonna retire this song for a little while, and I guess technically we did,” Williams told the crowd at the show. “But what we did not know was that just about five minutes after I got canceled for saying the word ‘whore’ in a song, all of TikTok decided that it was OK. Make it make sense.”

Williams, of course, is referring to the controversial “Misery Business” lyric, “Once a whore, you’re nothing more/I’m sorry, that’ll never change.”

As she continued to talk to the audience, Williams noted that Paramore fans in the band’s very early days called themselves “Parawhores.”

“I guess, what I’m trying to say is, it’s a word, and if you’re cool you won’t call a woman a whore because that’s bulls***,” Williams said. “We can all learn from ourselves, right?”

Williams didn’t sing the line, though the crowd certainly did. “Just for the record, 90 percent of you said ‘whore’ tonight,” she quipped. Also, as is tradition, she handed the mic to a fan in the crowd to sing the song’s bridge.

“I’m just gonna say thank you for being nostalgic about this because this is one of the coolest moments of our show,” Williams said. “It’s very nice to feel like there’s a reason to bring it back that’s positive.”

Fan-shot footage of the performance and Williams’ comments were posted by YouTube user VivaLaBry.

Behati Prinsloo is letting the world know she still supports husband Adam Levine. The model was present at a recent charity fundraiser in Las Vegas, where Maroon 5 performed.

Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Maroon 5 headlined Shaquille O’Neal’s annual “The Event” fundraiser, which was held this year at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. It marked the first Maroon 5 performance since Adam’s cheating scandal broke.

The “Memories” singer became embroiled in controversy after several women accused him of sending them inappropriate messages. While Adam said his conduct “crossed the line,” he maintained he never cheated on his wife, who is currently pregnant with their third child.

Despite the drama, the crowd went wild for Maroon 5; TMZ confirmed Prinsloo was part of the crowd.  Furthermore, Shaq said he wasn’t going to let the drama eclipse the good his benefit concert was doing.

“As far as I can say, he’s coming to help kids out this weekend. He’s a good man in my book,” the basketball legend previously declared. He also joined Adam onstage during the event to perform “This Love.”

Other songs performed by Maroon 5 include “Animals,” “What Lovers Do,” “Makes Me Wonder,” “One More Night,” “Moves Like Jagger” and “Stereo Hearts.”

The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation put on the second annual event, which benefited the Las Vegas and Atlanta chapters of Boys & Girls Clubs and Communities in Schools. The goal is to help underserved youth achieve their full potential.

Post Malone is loving fatherhood, but he says there is a big downside to it: touring.

The “Circles” singer opened up to GQ about balancing his career with dad duties. While he says fatherhood “is great,” the Grammy nominee dished, “It’s really tough not being able to see her.”

Post revealed in June that he welcomed his first child but declined providing any information about the baby’s name or the identity of her mother.

Now that his little one is growing, the artist confirmed, “She’s coming out more often now. She’s huge, she’s super tall, and she’s such a legend and I’m just happy to see her.”

But, Post says that’s not enough. “It is heartbreaking having to leave and not be able to be with her all the time,” he confessed.

As for what kind of music his little one enjoys, Post admitted he “can’t really tell what she’s into right now” — and maybe that’s a good thing. “She hasn’t cried whenever I put my music on so far, which I think is a good sign, but we’ll wait and find out. I got to let her decide,” he joked.

Post continued, “She’s going to have to like my music, I think, [or] she’s going to get used to it — I know everybody at the house plays it for her and hopefully, they’ll get stuck in her head.”

“But that’ll probably make her hate it though: she’ll be like, ‘Dad, you suck. Just go away,'” laughed the “Sunflower” singer, who is hopeful his kid will learn to love his songs. “Kids love my music for some reason, which is awesome, so I’m hoping that she just goes with the flow on that one.”

Post also discussed the “craziest thing” about fatherhood, which he candidly revealed are “The blowouts.”

Kelsea Ballerini is opening up about the mixed emotions that come with divorce.

In August, Kelsea announced that she and husband Morgan Evans were divorcing after nearly five years of marriage. In an interview on CBS MorningsKelsea alludes to the fact that the separation was a long time coming.

“I think that when there’s a big life decision like that, it’s not a sudden one, and there’s a lot that happens before that becomes public,” she says.

The 29-year-old describes herself as a “peacemaker” and “people pleaser,” adding that it was “really difficult” to go against those traits during the divorce. Though “rough,” she says the situation is “not chaotic” or “volatile,” and she’s “really proud” of herself for how she’s handled it.

“It just didn’t work and that sometimes is a difficult narrative to get your head around,” she explains. “This is a good person and I’m a good person, and this is just no longer good anymore.”

Despite the pain that comes with a divorce, Kelsea says this is also a “celebratory” time in her life as she continues to share her new album, Subject to Change, with fans. Its lead single, “Heartfirst,” is climbing up the top 30 on country radio.

“I’m on my active healing journey and a big part of that is showing up for this album and showing up for myself like I never have,” she says. “It’s easy to shame yourself and it’s easy to want to hide. I just want to be proud of myself in 10 years on this season of my life.”

Kelsea is currently on her headlining Heartfirst Tour through October 14.

Kesha’s mom speaks out on controversial “Cannibal” lyric that references Jeffrey Dahmer

Kesha’s mom speaks out on controversial “Cannibal” lyric that references Jeffrey Dahmer
Sony Legacy

It’s been over a decade since Kesha released “Cannibal,” but only now are fans having a problem with its lyrics — namely the explicit reference to Jeffrey Dahmer.

The notorious serial killer had his life story told in the new Netflix series Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, and artists like Kesha are being criticized for referencing him in their music.

In “Cannibal,” Kesha sings, “Be too sweet and you’ll be a goner/ Yeah, I’ll pull a Jeffrey Dahmer.” The singer’s mom, Pebe Sebert, has since come forward to defend her daughter and apologize to Dahmer’s victims.

Sebert took to TikTok to tell critics they should be directing their outrage at her. “That was my line that I wrote,” she said of the “big controversy” surrounding the hit. “At the time, Kesha and the other writer were too young to even know who Jeffrey Dahmer was.”

The songwriter revealed the serial killer’s name came up as a potential rhyme for “goner,” and Sebert felt that was “the perfect lyric.”

She further revealed “Cannibal” was written to be a “a tongue-in-cheek, funny song” and not about actual cannibalism. “Kesha was not the most popular girl in high school. She ended up not even getting asked to the prom,” Sebert explained, adding those same boys came crawling back when her career exploded. “And she was like, ‘Yeah, now that I’m famous, you’re up my anus.'”

Sebert maintained, “Not to be insensitive to anybody whose families were involved in this and lost loved ones… We certainly never meant to hurt anybody.”

Between 1978 and 1991, Dahmer murdered 17 men and boys. The victims’ families have since condemned Netflix for profiting off the tragedy.

Like Kesha, Katy Perry has been condemned for referencing Dahmer in her 2013 hit “Dark Horse.”

If you went to a concert over the weekend, you may have seen one of a few high-profile onstage collaborations.

On Friday, the first night of Eddie Vedder‘s Ohana Festival in Dana Point, California, the Pearl Jam frontman made a surprise appearance during Steve Nicks‘ headlining set.

Vedder joined the Fleetwood Mac legend for a version of “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around,” which Nicks first recorded as a duet with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the country, The Killers brought out Bruce Springsteen during their show at New York City’s Madison Square Garden Saturday.

“I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but me and my friends have all been sweating bullets up here all night long,” Killers frontman Brandon Flowers told the crowd. “Because The Boss is here.”

According to Setlist.fm, Bruce joined The Killers for renditions of his own songs “Badlands” and “Born to Run,” as well as the “Mr. Brightside” outfit’s song “A Dustland Fairytale.”

The Killers also played MSG on Friday, with an opening set from Johnny Marr, who had a surprise reunion with his old Smiths bandmate Andy Rourke. They played several Smiths songs, including “There Is a Light That Never Goes Out.”

Finally, Courtney Love showed up during The Lemonheads‘ show Friday in London. According to Consequence, the Hole frontwoman joined longtime friend Evan Dando for his band’s song “Into Your Arms.”

The Lemonheads are currently on tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of their 1992 album, It’s a Shame About Ray.

Lindsey Buckingham cancels European tour “due to ongoing health issues”

Lindsey Buckingham has scrapped the remainder of his current European tour for medical reasons.

A statement on his Instagram feed reads, “Due to ongoing health issues, Lindsey Buckingham is regrettably having to cancel the remaining shows on his current European tour. Refunds will be available from the point of purchase. Lindsey sends his deepest apologies to all his fans who were planning to attend and hopes to return to Europe in the future.”

It’s not clear what those health issues are. Buckingham, 73, was originally supposed to do the shows in question earlier this year, but they were postponed after he and some of his touring party got COVID-19.

In 2019, the former Fleetwood Mac guitarist had a heart attack and underwent triple-bypass surgery. That procedure required the insertion of a breathing tube that damaged his vocal cords, but luckily, it was only temporary.

Buckingham’s tour was in support of his 2021 self-titled solo album.
